PoliticsRe: Nigerians Excited Seeing Obasanjo On A Plane (Video) by cyprex: 12:02pm On Nov 04, 2015
Whether we appreciate him or not, the man OBJ is unarguably amongst the best leaders Nigeria have ever had.
He was betrayed by his own party as those he helped come to power could not continue with the laudable projects he initiated.

I have always thought that leadership is a continum but subsequent PDP led administration failed this man.
One cannot but imagine the following:
How corrupt free Nigeria would have been if EFCC and ICPC continued to work with as much gusto as they did under OBJ.
How much our economy would have grown if OBJ's banking/ monetary policies were sustained.
How debt free our Nation would have been had the debt repayment drive of OBJ been sustained and borrowing limited to only for strategic targets.

Let us not forget in a hurry how the real estate, telecom and capital market sub-sectors etc boomed under him.

I wonder how good we would have felt as a people if all government MDA's, public and private sector institutions serve the people as contained in the SERVICOM policy of OBJ. The orientation of our people would sure have been positively altered.

If I meet him, I would do more than take a selfie with OBJ. I would kiss his feet, shake his hands firmly, request for an autograph from him, I will hang any photograph I take with him in a very conspicuous corner in my apartment.

Most importantly I will ask him to bless me that I may come to possess as much wisdom, bravery, patriotic zeal and impetus as God has blessed him with.
It is most uncharitable of most Nigerian to vilify OBJ. His style may not be most conventional, but it is not in doubt that his contributions to the growth and unity of Nigeria is unequaled till date.
CrimeRe: Pregnant Woman Crushes Husband’s Testicles Over Cheating, Killing Him by cyprex: 1:03pm On Oct 23, 2015
Men are now endangered specie as feminism assume a predatory dimension. This surely was a slow and painful death except if crushing the testicles was with a gun shot.
While adultery is condemn-able, it is unpardonable for a person to kill another.

Let the law take its course while the dead rest in peace

PoliticsRe: The Truth About The Second Niger Bridge-Chibuzo N. Ziggy Azike by cyprex: 3:09pm On Sep 16, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
This article was written to justify PMB's stoppage/suspension of the 2nd Niger Bridge project. We have serious challenge in this country. Since coming to power PMB made sure that he set aside some funds for the rebuilding of the North East. But he was quick to cancel/suspend the 2nd Niger Bridge project after N10billion has been released as part of the FG obligations all in the guise of 'the project was overpriced'. How can one compare the 2nd Niger Bridge project that with the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge that wasn't built to carry heavy-duty trucks? Since time immemorial the eastern people have been advocating for this project but someone just wake up to reverse/suspend it. We are all aware of the Lagos Rail project reversal by Buhari during his military regime.

Anyway, we shall watch to see whether the FG will reproduce a better deal and get the contractors back to site.
It is ridiculous that someone like you who have attained certain status as an internet social critic could condescend so low as to only raise subterfuge and sentiments over this very revealing post. You nether refuted the facts presented by the poster not presented contrary views.

Can you please tell your readers what you intend to achieve by this intellect damping comment of yours?
CrimeRe: Man Trapped Inside Grave In Jigawa As He Tries To Steal Dead Human Body (Photo) by cyprex: 12:03pm On Sep 15, 2015
Logician:
There are more to this story. he tried to steal the human body 2 hours after they buried the deceased people are usually buried during the day and its difficult to comprehend why someone would go stealing a corpse in the day time, just barely 2hrs after. They should tell us what really transpired.
you are so on point.

The picture shows onlookers. Even if the onlookers just came out, they would instinctively move to his rescue but they just stand around watching. It is more than meets the eyes.

Relevant authorities should move in and immediately make arrests. The onlookers must have something to tell Nigerians.

Fourwinds:
what d school management did., is bad
Beyond being 'bad or good' is being right or wrong.

Employment in Nigeria is basically a matter of law and contract.
what does the contract of employment state about maternity leave and conditions of being entitled to it?
what does it say about disengagement and severance package in circumstances as hers?

we can only say that the action of the school authority is wrong or right after considering the above.

These are different from the social menace called 'under employment' which we expect this government to tackle head on.
someone that is earning less than 18,000 cannot be said to be even employed at all.

Let us not limit this issue of unemployment/underemployment to this particular case but rise and demand that national minimum wage be implemented across all sectors whether private or public.

The social media should be a medium of positive social change.
Christianity EtcRe: 22 Noisy Churches Shut Down In Lagos State by cyprex: 4:56pm On Aug 28, 2015
Arbiola:
Dear, the major reason God sent us to earth,is to broadcast, evangelize and the most important, win souls to his kingdom...... Why don't they go and shut down all those club houses... Why Churches?
For all I care, all the houses in Nigeria could be demolished, and churches built.... What Nigeria really needs now is Prayer,Prayer and Prayer!!!!!!
The statement above raises question about your position as true christian. If you think worshiping God is dependent on the amount of noise you make, if you think that the well-being of your neighbours does not feature as a predominant doctrine of your christian faith, then I have good reason to doubt you Christian faith.

Think about this.
PoliticsRe: Protesting Lawyers Disrupt NBA Session Over Amaechi! by cyprex: 11:38am On Aug 25, 2015
“271 (1) The appointment of a person to the office of a Chief Judge of a State shall be made by the governor of the state on the recommendation of the NJC subject to the confirmation of the appointment by the House of Assembly of the State.

The provision of the constitution above creates three actions to be performed by three separate authorities:- 1. RECOMMENDATION- vested on the NJC, 2. APPOINTMENT vested on the governor and 3. CONFIRMATION- vested on State House of Assembly. For purposes of interpretation, where one of these authorities acts without two others, such act is absolutely void. Where two authorities act without one, such act could at worst is voidable. The implication of this is such that the action of these two authorities remains valid until it is voided by the courts.

The word 'Recommendation' must remain what it is 'to suggest or advise' and should never connote 'mandatory or imposition'

Nigeria is a federation and I think under democracy, the grip of the central government on the states MUST be loosened and be seen to loosen in every facet of the polity.

The above position should be tested in court by these lawyer (except they are in support of this lopsided federal structure we have in place).

It is purely unacceptable for a group of lawyers, who obviously do not represent all the lawyer affected by the shut down of the courts to disrupt the peace of not only the guest 'Amaechi' but also that of other lawyers willing to listen to him.
.
Having said the above, I cannot justifiably blame the shut down of the courts in River state during that period on the action of the River state government.

Oshiomole's reaction is in order as the actions of 'learned men' must be distinguishable from actions of road side touts.

NBA must not allow the prestigious bar conference to be turned into a platform for political cynicism

Even if Saraki/Ekweremadu presents NEPA bill as senate 2015 rule book, they will remain SP/DSP till 2019
comments like your makes reasonable folks shudder in dismay. it is either you are ignorant of the fact that without democracy, there won't be any senate for them to preside over and without rule of law there won't be any democracy. the rule of law stipulates that all citizens surrender to institutional guides. I advise that sacrifice your sentiments at the alter of democratic preservation and not vice versa, please.
