I strongly hoped that PDP would provide a formidable opposition to keep the ruling party kept on their toes. The case is rather different as PDP is floundering even in states traditionally theirs and at the National level. For the sake of democracy, may God grant PDP the unity of purpose required to effectively oppose. Where APC fails they are should be ready to take over leadership. It is at that stage that the Nigerian masses would experience the true value of the democracy and politicians would recall that power indeed belongs to the people. whether in Edo, Abia, Adamawa or in any other state, PDP should please put their house in order. The party leaders should look beyond today's personal benefits, practice internal democracy and pursue institutionalization of true party structure that can stand the test of time. |
I have wondered why Igbo people hate my governor so much. Irrespective of what he does, they call him names, insinuate wrong motives and disparage his person. I thought it was because he owed salaries but most other states also owe. Now he ordered immediate payment yet the hate continues. I recall that he was the Igbo's darling governor until he dumped bigotry and embraced progressiveness. Even Peter Obi that abandoned APGA even as chairman BOT is never such vilified. It seems my people does not like any person that have a nationalistic view point. They rather prefer a parochial leader, little wonder Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe (the great Zik of Africa) is less regarded in Igboland. How do we expect to be politically relevant without building bridges across other ethnic divides? Why must Rochas become okorohausa simply because he is cosmopolitan and nationalistic? Umunne m na Umunna m, biko nu, k'anyi me ihe ziri ezi. |
previous administrations got some list. As for this administration, it has the mandate of patriotic Nigerians to start this war from whom ever. it chose to start from Dasuki, and now Saraki and Ekeremadu. prosecuting suspected criminals does not translate to persecution, check your dictionary, please. Puresolutions: |
There must be no sacred cows. The value of the property is beyond any regular saving ability. Baba, do not give room for doubt about this anti-corruption crusade, do the needful, direct EFCC to probe Buratai ASAP. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria |
Dear Senator, I feel your plight but I have some questions. Is the senate rule doctored or altered in any way? If no, case close. If yes, was it altered according to law or not? Whatever is your answer sir, when and who doctored or altered it? I suppose that it may have been more pleasing that your press release also included answers to these important questions. I also suppose that you are in a position to know all these being principal member in both this and the last senate. Even while I believe you are still innocent, I want to be rest assured you are. |
It will most appropriate for Buratai to explain how he got money to purchase such choice property. EFCC and ICPC should immediately commence an investigation into this. |
Ebukaidoko:They Will be severely punished only if you are sitting on judgement throne. However, the impartial judge who saved us from cluelessness, official kleptomania and brigandage will save those patriotic voter who mustered courage to redirect our national course. |
Jirate:Because money meant for arm purchase didn't find its way there in. |
There is no doubt that people from those states are smart. What is questionable is the motive of Ben Bruce and I think he is simply massaging the ego of the Igbos. This is in line with a recent trend from people from the South South who have suddenly discovered how much my people enjoy praise singing. |
Ada I am in agreement with you. Women go around in public half nude with their breast exposed all in the name of civilization and right. When the need arises for that same woman to use the breast for its primary purpose, she would readily remember she is in public. While it is desirable to make use of breast feeding covers, the baby should not remain hungry simply because there is no such cover around. Also, intention is at the foundation of our actions. where your intention is to feed your hungry baby, ride on but where you are filled with vile and perversion God does not like it |
Welcome Sheik. May your coming bring peace in our land. May God bless our dear country though your intercessions. |
The Op just made an inglorious attempt to mislead the generally gullible populace. It is rather preposterous to raise a 'conspiracy theory' against the government over the inability of labour leaders to work together. In this attempt, the OP created illusions, concocted half truth and fabricated outright falsehood in-order to smear the Buhari led administration. @OP, kindly note that the Govt. did not choose which faction to meet with but invited all labour leaders. The Wabba led NLC staged a work out volutarily |
Beautiful. Affordable. How do I contact you. |
Great work. Keep'em up |
modath:yes ooh, Modath. with that epic quote of yours it is clear that no matter how they try they can never turn all Igbos against our president. |
Sir you don't have to implicate your cousin. There are enough implicating statements from Dasuki, Metu and others already if GEJ is the target. N40 Million is a lot of money to be wished away by mere weak allegation as this. JUST RETURN THE MONEY, you don't have implicate GEJ, pls. |
chukwudi44:You possibly cannot undermine the personality that espoused this great legal thought. Pls sir, introduce us to PDP lawyer so that we may take him seriously. |
You need to be schooled. Oby Ezekwesili is a social critic and human right activist. If you mistook her criticism of GEJ's policies as 'fighting' then you are in error. She just have to do her job no matter who is in power. I hope you will not personalize this but educate others who share opinion with you Ndywin: |
Didi Ukpo, I congratulate you for being bold enough to criticize a leader you hold in high esteem. I voted Buhari, yet ready to admit his weaknesses and criticize his policies if they are consider harsh on the masses. This however does not mean that I have withdrawn my support for him. While I admit that Nigerians are suffering due to epileptic power supply, high rate of inflation and acute shortage of fuel, I it is clear that this leadership have the overall interest of Nigerians at heart. I congratulate Didi because in Nigeria, it is rare to find people criticize a leader they support. Some persons still support the past administration and make excuses for them even in the face of blatant failure of leadership and massive corruption. While I criticize Buhari, I think it is too early to write him off as he still have more than 3years sustain our goodwill. Until then we shall decide who will have our votes. I encourage those that support the past administration to borrow a leaf from Didi and call a spade by its name when it matters. post script: If the election is held afresh, I will still prefer this leadership to the former. |
Airforce1:I do not know from where you may be writing. However they are reacting as Africans. If you want to make a business, finance, maritime or legal decisions you consult experts in such fields respectively. Humans consider their Mother as experts in marital issues. If you wouldn't consider your mum's opinion in issues as this whose would you consider; an immigration lawyer I guess? Its your choice. |
Until now, Ekiti state used to be pace setter state. This man has made nonsense of the pride of theis people who were bastions of dignity in no distance past. I cannot but imagine how some great minds like Anifowose, Kazeem & Tunde who hail from there would be feeling when the see such actions as this. Rwanda, Somalia and their likes never had it this bad. |
Thank God for this news. I once traveled through that road and had my heart in my mouth all through. I find it had to believe that some set of people are bringing in inverse logic to remind us of who awarded the contract or whose budget is being used to construct the road. May be they should also tell us whether budgeting translates into releasing money for the job to be done. That argument further indicts the past administration on budget implementation. We will not be surprised to learn later that cash may have been released for the completion of the road but was diverted by one of the friends of the former administration. This is not politics but the last administration was unfair to Nigerians, especially the Igbos who obviously have adopted GEJ as their son. LAST NOTE: since Igbos have adopted GEJ as their son will it be wrong to say that Nd'Igbo have taken their turn in producing Nigeria's president? just asking. For the avoidance of doubt, I am Igbo, ezigbo nwafor Igbo kara aka. ka Chineke mezie okwu. |
Brilliance9000:I would rather expect you to talk about the picture. Do not use everything as opportunity to preach against National unity. Anyway, I doubt that there is more unity among the old south eastern state as is in Nigeria in general |
Like him or hate him, OBJ is a man. His letters to several men in position have proven to be potent and nobody wants to joke with them. How I wish that other former heads of state would join him to speak against societal evil, lest the man in them dies. @OBJ keep up the good work. Those legendary letters keep our leaders on their toes. |
Abduction is a crime and the law have adequate provisions to punish persons indulging in it. However, I will advise us to be cautious and not sensationalize this issue. While it is condemn-able to abduct any child but it is not new in Nigeria to see young girls run to stay with their boy friends. We all watch and some people even defend the 'children involved' Though a Christian, I frown at the prominence this is is getting SIMPLY BECAUSE it involved a Christian girl eloping with a Muslim boy. I condemn all indecent relationship especially where an under aged is involved. I however challenge any of these holier than thou messengers of hate trying to capitalize on this issue to create acrimony between Christians and Muslims to tell me if they are truly surprised that 14-year old girls have boy friends. Most of those shouting on top of the roof now are still those that support all forms of indecency especially the ravaging incidence of BABY MAMA. A surprising aspect of this saga is that no one have bothered to ask of the view of the Boy. It is a golden rule of fair hearing to 'hear the other side' Another disturbing aspect is the efforts made to draw the entire Kano Emirate into this. Each and everyday people commit crimes across various Kingdoms and cities yet the leadership are not held vicariously liable for the crimes of their citizens. Till date nobody has been able to rebuff the claim of the Emir that he instructed that the girl be taken back to the parents. I am a Catholic Christian, I stand against all forms of indecency and anti social behaviour. I also declare that I SHALL NOT BE DECEIVED OR LURED TO HATE ANYONE SIMPLY BECAUSE HE IS A MUSLIM OR IS OF ANY OTHER FAITH. |
Strahovski1:I have no doubt. If we find it difficult to submit ourselves to God, how can we submit to mere 'husband'. Please make effort to do as commanded by God, he is all powerful |
We just heard your own side of the story. Nobody knows how you have previously behaved in the lecturers class. Nobody knows how rowdy your class has been during previous lecture sessions with this lecturer. Nobody know whether or not the lecturer has warned your class to maintain decorum earlier. It is difficult for a lecturer to mate out such punishment for such common-place misfeasance. NB: it is part of formative process to own up and accept responsibility but most young men are usually quick to put the blame on the next person. |
englishmart:You are obviously an enemy of the Igbo Nation. Please next time say IPOB kwenuj and not Igbo kwenu. IPOB is not Igbo and you simply represent IPOB not Igbo |
Lemon12:You don't sound coherent. The word justice seems alien to you. |
Kudos to all great sportsmen/ women whose efforts continually bring hope and succor to a teaming population of despairing Nigerians. Once sporting laurels are involved we smile together and cheer in unison. In such moments of glory tribal/ ethnic sentiments (the bane of Nigeria) is thrown to the trash can where it belongs. Like the phoenix, even if we are completely burnt, we shall emerge from this ashes unto greater glory. To all who believe that NIGERIA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN, I pray that you shall leave to see a great Nigeria. |
It is most is unreasonable for any one to tag this protest 'Igbo' These protesters do not represent Nd'Igbo and their actions do not in anyway represent the aspirations of the Igbo nation. |
cktheluckyman:This fight must be won and the security authorities are equal to the task. Running into the creeks, valleys, under the sea bed, mountains, desert or rain forest will not save any criminal. Lessons from the Mexican drug lord El-Chapo will be useful here. |
