I know that there are sane Nigerians across south, west, east and north. Thank you Mr Governor for being bold enough to speak in support of this anti corruption drive. Some folks have chosen to undermine it. I am Igbo and I fully support Mr president's commitment to stamp out the canker worm of corruption from Nigeria |
The dad just did his job. Boy just find your way back home. NB: daddy will still smack you again if you go against his instructions. |
Achuwa1:Apart from being overtly unpatriotic, you are brazenly ignorant and unlettered. The Nigeria people and especially our security operatives cannot be intimidated unto submission. Whether the money ,oil or resources is generated from his backyard or not is not in issue. Nigerians need an explanation on the N13 Billion land procurement. As a last note; The world is watching oil prices plumage. Nigeria shall continue to live even if oil becomes worthless |
Congratulations Dino. From cars to dressing- flamboyance. However, as the saying goes; if you got it, flaunt it. |
The Holy Roman Catholic Church is not the same as the 'Orthodox Catholic' mentioned here. General public please take note. |
This man knows from his heart of hearts that he is not positioning for presidency. Am sure there is more to his rants than American presidency. Let us keep our fingers crossed and watch. In due season, we shall all see what he has up his sleeves. |
Prof. Sagay, it is wrong for you to make a hasty generalization and say 'Igbo's resurrect Biafra'. You may say IPOB not Igbo's as majority of Igbo's are not part of this agitation. Kindly correct yourself sir. I am proudly Igbo and proudly Nigerian. |
Either of the cases below is possible here. 1. If this Wike's claim was discovered by the Omereji's commission of inquiry, it is at best a stale news. Scrupulous minds expect Wike to bring this up in court by now. 2. If it is just discovered, too bad as it is an indictment or better still a proof that Omereji's report was hastily put together as last ditch to stop Amechi from becoming a minister. If 2nd option is the case, then Rivers people should demand that Wike return every sum he claim to have spent to put up the commission of inquiry. This is not time for frivolities and wild goose chase. |
whirlwind7:your analysis above is apt and calls for sober reflect. However, am so very optimistic that we are can get it right. The process has already began with the emergence of this administration. No hope is lost, certainly we can reclaim our glorious destiny. |
todayboy:men of yester years are erudite, disciplined and resourceful. you are indeed 'todayboy' |
may God bless you for mustering courage to write this piece. In this world where evil is celebrated and good ridiculed, it is not easy to state what is good and edifying and criticize evil. most people keep from speaking against evil lest they are called uncivilized. |
I am proudly Igbo and proudly Nigerian. Our fate is tied, our unity can never compromised and our territorial integrity can never be violated. Yes to one Nigeria. yes to one Love. No to secession No to marginalization My people we can still make as one great nation, united under God. |
nnachukz:It amazes scrupulous Nigerians that myopic people like you, blinded by palpable hatred still populate the Nigerian landscape. Citizens of other countries still says 'God bless our leader' but here you are wishing your leader and a section of your country bad. Does it matter from which ethnic group you are from? for God's sake why can't you even be a little patriotic? For the avoidance of doubt people like you are the real enemies of the ethnic group you pretend to love. Even if you refuse to hear any other truth this 2016, Nigeria's territorial integrity, the unity and progress of its people and its socio-economic growth MUST be attained whether or not a handful of people of your ilk like it or not. To the glory of God, Nigeria is now blessed with a forthright leadership on whose shoulder rest authority, political and decisions making powers which will largely control your affairs in Nigeria at least for the next 3-years or more. SAFETY WARNING: Never stand against a moving train; it is foolhardy to do so. |
GEJ did himself a billion dollar favor by handing over after he lost. He now enjoys international accolade rather than opprobrium just by doing what is right. I tend to agree with Keyamo' position but GEJ should quietly return all his ill-gotten wealth. MORALS: our weakness may indeed be our strength and what we lost our gain |

Nonsense upon filth. This can only be likened to unbridled ranting to criticize every action of the ruling party. INEC simply did its job. What exactly did Fayose suggest as way forward aside instructing INEC to apply to the supreme court? INEC as a responsible agency must act fast and not hamper the electioneering process in anyway by delaying. The road to Supreme Court is not closed to Fayose and his ilk |
Onyejiuwaokoh:I tend to agree with your submissions but my rational being thinks differently- did removal and subsequent killing of Saddam Hussein and Mummar Gaddaffi bring peace in Iraq and Libya respectively. in the resolution of Syrian crisis, more than Asad stepping aside is a genuine concern from all sides for the stability of Syria as a sovereign state. Give an impartial thought and visualize a post Asad Syria; what do you foresee? The world desire peace but I doubt if either divide is willing to give it a chance. May peace never depart our soil. |
Sound decision based on thorough judgement and logic. However, I expect any aggrieved party to take this matter to the court for judicial interpretation. Even where no person is aggrieved, the AGF should seek judicial interpretation so as to lay the spirit of this matter to eternal rest while we await legislative action on our electoral laws. May the soul of Audu and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace- AMEN |
The law is no respecter of person, tribe of group. Nnamdi Kanu cannot be harmed outside the law, but may be harmed within the law. |
you have once again picked up your thinking cap; kudos bro |
edlion57:you are right my friend; we shall never go back to those inglorious ages where the military hierarchy participate in election rigging. we must reclaim our pride as a nation- The Army is our common pride. I however wonder why you miss gej in this case, is he behind the actions of the soldiers? |
Example of what unity of purpose would help a people achieve. The team comprised of persons from every part of Nigeria chosen without ethnic or religious considerations. Enough said. Congratulations to Nigeria and the young lads. One Nigeria. |
Even with the mechanical smile, sad looks and wrinkles now covers this once glittering face. Indeed, Money cannot buy peace. It pays to obey God |
Whether we appreciate him or not, the man OBJ is unarguably amongst the best leaders Nigeria have ever had. He was betrayed by his own party as those he helped come to power could not continue with the laudable projects he initiated. I have always thought that leadership is a continum but subsequent PDP led administration failed this man. One cannot but imagine the following: How corrupt free Nigeria would have been if EFCC and ICPC continued to work with as much gusto as they did under OBJ. How much our economy would have grown if OBJ's banking/ monetary policies were sustained. How debt free our Nation would have been had the debt repayment drive of OBJ been sustained and borrowing limited to only for strategic targets. Let us not forget in a hurry how the real estate, telecom and capital market sub-sectors etc boomed under him. I wonder how good we would have felt as a people if all government MDA's, public and private sector institutions serve the people as contained in the SERVICOM policy of OBJ. The orientation of our people would sure have been positively altered. If I meet him, I would do more than take a selfie with OBJ. I would kiss his feet, shake his hands firmly, request for an autograph from him, I will hang any photograph I take with him in a very conspicuous corner in my apartment. Most importantly I will ask him to bless me that I may come to possess as much wisdom, bravery, patriotic zeal and impetus as God has blessed him with. It is most uncharitable of most Nigerian to vilify OBJ. His style may not be most conventional, but it is not in doubt that his contributions to the growth and unity of Nigeria is unequaled till date. |
Men are now endangered specie as feminism assume a predatory dimension. This surely was a slow and painful death except if crushing the testicles was with a gun shot. While adultery is condemn-able, it is unpardonable for a person to kill another. Let the law take its course while the dead rest in peace |
Gejpresident:Could the above have been written by a Nigerian? A christian? SMH |
SeverusSnape:You don't sound intelligent and it is obvious you didn't understand the post. Get someone else to help and explain the content of the post to your understanding. |
TonyeBarcanista:It is ridiculous that someone like you who have attained certain status as an internet social critic could condescend so low as to only raise subterfuge and sentiments over this very revealing post. You nether refuted the facts presented by the poster not presented contrary views. Can you please tell your readers what you intend to achieve by this intellect damping comment of yours? |
Logician:you are so on point. The picture shows onlookers. Even if the onlookers just came out, they would instinctively move to his rescue but they just stand around watching. It is more than meets the eyes. Relevant authorities should move in and immediately make arrests. The onlookers must have something to tell Nigerians. |
Fourwinds:Beyond being 'bad or good' is being right or wrong. Employment in Nigeria is basically a matter of law and contract. what does the contract of employment state about maternity leave and conditions of being entitled to it? what does it say about disengagement and severance package in circumstances as hers? we can only say that the action of the school authority is wrong or right after considering the above. These are different from the social menace called 'under employment' which we expect this government to tackle head on. someone that is earning less than 18,000 cannot be said to be even employed at all. Let us not limit this issue of unemployment/underemployment to this particular case but rise and demand that national minimum wage be implemented across all sectors whether private or public. The social media should be a medium of positive social change. |
Arbiola:The statement above raises question about your position as true christian. If you think worshiping God is dependent on the amount of noise you make, if you think that the well-being of your neighbours does not feature as a predominant doctrine of your christian faith, then I have good reason to doubt you Christian faith. Think about this. |
“271 (1) The appointment of a person to the office of a Chief Judge of a State shall be made by the governor of the state on the recommendation of the NJC subject to the confirmation of the appointment by the House of Assembly of the State. The provision of the constitution above creates three actions to be performed by three separate authorities:- 1. RECOMMENDATION- vested on the NJC, 2. APPOINTMENT vested on the governor and 3. CONFIRMATION- vested on State House of Assembly. For purposes of interpretation, where one of these authorities acts without two others, such act is absolutely void. Where two authorities act without one, such act could at worst is voidable. The implication of this is such that the action of these two authorities remains valid until it is voided by the courts. The word 'Recommendation' must remain what it is 'to suggest or advise' and should never connote 'mandatory or imposition' Nigeria is a federation and I think under democracy, the grip of the central government on the states MUST be loosened and be seen to loosen in every facet of the polity. The above position should be tested in court by these lawyer (except they are in support of this lopsided federal structure we have in place). It is purely unacceptable for a group of lawyers, who obviously do not represent all the lawyer affected by the shut down of the courts to disrupt the peace of not only the guest 'Amaechi' but also that of other lawyers willing to listen to him. . Having said the above, I cannot justifiably blame the shut down of the courts in River state during that period on the action of the River state government. Oshiomole's reaction is in order as the actions of 'learned men' must be distinguishable from actions of road side touts. NBA must not allow the prestigious bar conference to be turned into a platform for political cynicism |
