Sports / PSG Says, Absent Neymar Can Leave For Right Offer by Cyrilbenz(m): 2:29am On Jul 09, 2019
Paris Saint-Germain sport director Leonardo has confirmed
that Neymar can leave the capital club this summer if an offer
that suits all parties arrives and that Barcelona have been in
vague contact.
PSG issued an official statement on Monday condemning
Neymar for missing the first day of preseason training amid
strong links with a return to Barcelona, while Leonardo spoke
with Le Parisien at length about the situation.
"Neymar can leave PSG if there is an offer made that suits
everybody," said the Brazilian transfer guru. "For now, we do
not know if anybody wants to buy him or at what price. What is
certain is that this sort of thing does not get done in one day.

True talk
Sports / Scoring Against Lions Runs In My Family Blood – JJ Okocha by Cyrilbenz(m): 11:39pm On Jul 07, 2019
Reacting to the Eagles 3-2 victory over Cameroon at the Alexandria Stadium in Egypt, Okocha who is a pundit with SuperSport, praised the team’s second half performance, while also heaping praises on his nephew, Alex Iwobi, who scored the winning goal.

“I think it is in the family now, it’s official that we (himself and Iwobi) love scoring against Cameroon. At 2004, I scored the equaliser against them and we went on to win the match 2-1. And today (Saturday), Alex got the winning goal and it looks like we have something against Cameroon in my family,” Okocha said.

Meanwhile, the Eagles legend also expressed his disappointment in the team’s defence and called for improvement in their next game.

Phones / Tecno Camon CX Air Update Brings June 2019 Security Patch, Fixes Translation Bug by Cyrilbenz(m): 12:08am On Jul 05, 2019
It’s been over two years since the Tecno Camon CX Air arrived in Kenya, which easily makes it an out-of-favor handset as far as software updates are concerned. However, Tecno is rolling out a new software update to this device with the latest June 2019 security patch.

The rollout started late last month and the software is arriving as version V169, which, unfortunately, is still based on Android Nougat, the OS that powers the device out of the box.

Even with no OS change, it’s great to see the Camon CX Air receiving a new security update years after it was released.

Also part of this update are bug fixes that include the display issue of translation and legal issues, as captured in the screenshot below.

WhatsApp is the most used instant messaging app nowadays; and because of that, its developers need to update it very often to satisfy all the needs of users around the world.

One of the features that we were waiting this year, after being found by WABetaInfoon the WhatsApp beta app for iOS, was the one that allows us to manage who can add us to a new WhatsApp group. Until now, we just knew that we were going to be added to a new group when someone already added us, but now we can finally choose if we want to be in that group or not.

How to Stop Being Added to WhatsApp Groups

To enable the new feature that block whatsapp group from adding you without your wish, you need to update the Whatsapp to its latest version (you can do that through the App Store or Google Play, once here check if you have a new update available).
Now open WhatsApp and head to “Settings-> Account -> Privacy“.

Here is how you can browse with mtn mpulse data, the
mpulse data is the cheapest data subscription at the
moment, you can get 350Mb for a token of N150,
practically you can get 1.4gb for N600, and the validity
is quite encouraging, we seem to have forgotten about
this mpulse cheat since the data was slashed from the
1gb to 350mb, the fact still remains that mpulse data
is the cheapest data subscription available at the
moment, with a good validity period.
Since the ISP ‘MTN’ blocked the cheat from working
on most of the VPNs(HTTP injector, Spark VPN, KPN
and Co) , the Samsung Max VPN is the only stable

Nairaland / General / Barcelona Will Be The Scariest Club Next Season, See Why by Cyrilbenz(m): 8:28pm On May 20, 2019
Leave alone Manchester United, Barcelona are going to be the busiest club this summer.

Following their recent woes at Anfield, Barca have made real their threats of bundling out some of their stars who are less beneficial to the club.

Already the Spanish giant had gone ahead of everyone and secured the sign of sensational Ajax star Frankie de Jong back in January, closing the door for many other hungry clubs who may have thought of fighting for the player.

Ajax defender Mathijs De Ligt has also expressed his desire to play for the Blaugrana and the La Liga giants are ready to welcome him at Nou Camp.

This now makes it more interesting; Atletico Madrid star and World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann is going to leave Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona are ready to pay his release clause for €125M.

Nairaland / General / JAMB Speaks On Release Of 2019 UTME Result by Cyrilbenz(m): 10:11am On May 06, 2019
JAMB insisted the result of the UTME will be released - The examination body said it was carrying out biometric verification of its candidates JAMB again denied the rumour that its server was hacked The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said it has begun the biometric verification of the 1.8 million candidates that said for thee 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The Nation reports that this exercise has caused the delay in the results of the examination. Prof. Is-haq Oloyede who is the registrar of JAMB confirmed the development saying the examination board was crosschecking everything about the examination including the biometrics. He said: “We are cross-checking everything, including fingers. If you know that you have about 1.8 candidates multiplied by ten that is the finger we are talking about. “If you are very close to National Identity Card Management Commission (NIMC¬), ask them what it takes to analyse finger prints in terms of period. “We are combining 1.8 million ten fingers with one another to be sure that we identify people who combine fingers and so on. That is where we are now. “We have done all other and now we have about six states to go. As I speak with you I am at a retreat with those who are doing it. We have about six states to go. We have done 31 states and six states are still not completed now.” Asked when the result of the UTME will be released, the registrar said: “I don’t know but it will be very soon. As soon as we complete what we are doing.” The registrar denied reports that the board may cancel half of the results of states found to have been involved in malpractice during the examination. Oloyede also spoke about the issue os JAMB server saying it was not hacked contrary to rumour. He said: “There is no problem at all but everything must be done thoroughly and that is what we are doing. There is no problem.

Nairaland / General / Release Our Results In Batches, 2019 UTME Candidates, Parents Beg JAMB by Cyrilbenz(m): 9:23pm On May 05, 2019
Release our results in batches, 2019 UTME candidates, parents beg JAMB

Some 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations candidates have appealed to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to release their results.

The candidates spoke in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Bwari.

The 2019 UTME commenced on April 11 to April 18 with 1.8 million registered candidates.

The Board has repeatedly said that it would take its time to screen the results because of the several infractions discovered during the exercise.

Madueke John, a candidate, said that the long wait for the results has held some of the candidates back, while also causing a lot of tension.

“With everything we are hearing from JAMB and other media reports we are getting, we are tense.

“I know I did not do anything that will incriminate me during the exams, but the entire process this time around has really changed.

“If JAMB, while screening, discovers those who are innocent, why don’t they release those ones and continue screening others, seriously, this is taking forever.

Politics / WAEC Finally Explains Why President Buhari Was NOT Given Certificate In 2015 by Cyrilbenz(m): 10:54pm On Nov 03, 2018
The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has explained why the body was not able to give President Muhammadu Buhari an “attestation of his result in 2015.

WAEC, through its Registrar, Iyi Uwadiae, had on Friday presented the attestation of results to Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

However, the action of WAEC stirred reactions among Nigerians, who questioned why Buhari was not issued the certificate in 2015 but has done same ahead of 2019.

Responding to a statement on Twitter, WAEC on it’s official Twitter page wrote:

“What happened was that Move On. Nigeria went to Ghana to ask for a record that is in Nigeria. Was the exam done in Ghana? And for the avoidance of doubt, only the candidate and a court of competent jurisdiction can ask the Council for any certificate/result.”

Nairaland / General / Nigerian Workers Are Pleased With A New Minimum Wage by Cyrilbenz(m): 7:23pm On Nov 02, 2018
The Bayelsa State Government has agreed to the workers’ demand for N30,000 as the new minimum wage.
Wellington Obiri, the Head of Civil Service, Bayelsa State, made the promise when the Leaders of the State’s Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, led a peaceful protest to the Government House, Yenagoa.
Addressing the workers, he said: “I want to assure Bayelsa workers, that the government is in support of your quest for minimum wage. The N30,000 minimum wage will be implemented by the State Government.
“In anticipation of that, Governor Seriake Dickson has directed the Head of Service and the Finance Committee, to start working out the modalities for the implementation of whatever decision that is agreed, and such a decision will be adhered to by the government.”
In his response to the government’s promise on payment of the new figure, Comrade John Bipre-Ndiomu, the NLC Chairman in the State, said that the essence of the protest was to ensure that workers are treated fairly, and the N30,000 minimum wage is implemented to the letter.
“We have come to inform our State Government that we are also waiting on them, and that immediately the Federal Government gives approval, we are assured that the States will follow suit. We will ensure that, that which is due to workers gets to them. We can never be slaves in our own land. We produce the wealth of this country, and others share the wealth”, he said.
On his part, Tari Daunana, the TUC Chairman, called on Leaders to manage the country’s resources well, in order to add value to Nigerian workers.
He said: “We want to call on our privileged Leaders, that are managing our resources to to add value to Nigerians and the society. Leadership is about the legacy you leave for the unborn generations. It will speak for you whether good or bad.”
