youngpol:And with this comment of yours, you want to be the first to comment in case this makes frontpage abi? If you have nothing to add, why not swerve? |
TiffanyJ:So far a senior writer like Tiff is with me on this and 80% of the readers are with me, I don't care what one or two pple have to say. It is my intellectual property, I have the right to decide what to do with it. |
adewealth027:You don't need to take any long break o. The second story is still running. You have me on your mail, don't you? PM your number... |

MissMalia:It is something I can do, but I will not. Me writing and posting them here is not a joke, neither am I doing this for fun. Have you heard stories of writers who have their stories online, lets say Nairaland for instance, and they wanted to publish the story. Meanwhile, the publisher has read the story on a facebook page or a blog. Do you know the question the publisher will ask? And there are some writers who don't write in books, they write on their laptop, and from there paste online. They have no evidence whatsoever to prove that the story belong to them. Am sorry, my decision stands and nothing can change that. If I have 200 people following this, I will ensure that those 200 people read this story to the end. |
MissMalia:What exactly is your point? |
Shebarh:Lets look for ur email password together. Go to Lagos tv, I'll go to the police station. I can't post on whatsapp, but I'll fix something for you |
And now that the problems have been identified, shall we come up with the ways of solving them? |
senbonzakurakageyoshi:This has always been my believe about posting stories and literary works online. |

Ishilove:Maybe he wants the mods to comment on every thread, or the mods should start stories themselves. Lol But seriously, I think you guys are not active on the board you moderate. If we check your last 36posts, before the creation of this thread, we'll get the exact thing he is saying. If there is a way you can improve your participation on this board, please do. Of the three moderators on this thread, you are the only one I see everyday(other sections most times) the other two are just there. |

LarrySun:Senior! Its been a while |
This is a typical example of the believe that the so called popular writers should be the critics. Someone posted this on a thread this morning; Walahi av been busy o. Nice update. U have real improve wt ur narrative nd description....wait let me call oga D9ty7 to see this.me am not a writer o, jst observing. And the writer/owner of the thread dropped this; Tnx 4 da comment i luk 4ward 4 such again.not so long ago. -------------- I think the message is now clear. Until we stop thinking only popular writers or writers alone can make corrections, am afraid there won't be much improvement. And to say most of the writers are Engineers and Accountants, but the readers who studied or are studying literature or English Laguage will rather ask for more updates or call you the bomb. |
In addition, I think the literature section shouldn't be about stories and stories alone. Many people don't visit this section because they are of the opinion that everything on this section are stories which is true. And what they say is, "why should I sit down with my phone and read stories written by unknown writers when I can download James Hadley Chase books?" There was a time when cuddlemi was the moderator here, quizes and debates if I am not mistaken. Ishilove, I think you should take that up personally. Just anybody can't do it, people won't take it serious, but when a moderator, with their wealth of experience takes it up, people will want to see it. A typical example of this is this thread, for how many hours now, how many views and posts? Please, do something about it and be sure that people will support you. In fact, you might not do anything at all, other than to create the thread and help us sticky it. |
Chuksemi:No one could have said it any better. But, you know what pisses me of most? It is when a writer starts a story, creates a thread for episode 1, another thread for episode 2 what rubbish? Other times, you see a writer create a thread and just because the turnout is low, he creates another one with the same title. |
Is this supposed to be a literature related topic or what? This shouldn't be on the literature section. Cc: Ishilove |
As a regular visitor of the literature board, I think the problem here is down to a lot of things. To start with, I think we don't have active moderators on this board. To make a board lively and interesting, you that is in charge of the board must be an interesting chap. I checked the profile of a moderator sometimes ago and I saw his last seen to be about 48hours ago. Am like wtf! And people will break a lot of rules during that period and will go scot free. Now that we have three moderators, I think one of them appears when mentioned, but the other two, only God knows. The mods should either work on this or the board will go into extinction like some boards on this forum. And to the issue of the writers and the quality of what is being written. Personally, I think the problem lies with the readers. I started posting on this board in 2013, but I remembered when I started there were a lot of criticisms and corrections which I took in good faith and I tried to adjust. In August 2014, I started a story and I remembered the corrections I got from LarrySun, AudreyTimms and a couple of people(mostly writers) which I tried to adjust to, afterall, I am human. I started a new story early this year and I can boldly say that no one came out to correct my work. Errors are bound to be found in things we write/type, we are not perfect. One thing I noticed is that, readers here don't critique the so called popular writers. And when a new writer starts posting, these same set of readers will call on the so called popular writers to critique the new story being posted. A writer that is a little hanging above average being asked to put a writer below average through. At the end of the day, you realise that all we have are average writers. Why can't readers criticise and not wait until LarrySun or some other popular people come around? And on the issue of writers taking corrections personal, I have criticised a couple of people here and none of them took it personal. I have seen a couple of people take it against others, I think it is down to your manner of approach. Most people criticise destructively to speak the truth. If there is a way to make this board better, lets do it, cos I have decided to spend the next one month posting on this section, after which I'll take my stories somewhere else, probably a personal website or something. But by then, I'll be in the category of readers and reading below average stories will only make me develop interest for "Maheeda n*de pics" and "Who wore it better?" topics on the homepage |

--continuation-- "The level of complacency in N.A.T.U has of recent gone on an alarming increase which is very bad for the security of the Nation. The Security act drafted 2003 stated that no security agency would be led by an officer short of twenty five years working experience. And as at 2010 when N.A.T.U was founded, the act employed was that and I quote; 'No agent will be placed in contention for the OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR except such agent has satisfied the minimum forty-five years of age." Andrew continued and everyone listened attentively. Even though, about half of the people present knew what he was playing at and they knew he would stop at nothing to ensure that Collins was butted out of office. "The act in another development gave room for an agent less than the age of forty-five be allowed to occupy the OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR only if he/she has served for five straight years without transfer at the FBI or served intermittently between the FBI and the Civil Defence or state security service for eight years." He continued. "As at when I served as director of N.A.T.U, I satisfied every act as written in the constituation. I have spent a total of twenty years in the police force before I was drafted to lead the joint task regional force, a position I held for five years, before I spent three years at the state security service and the FBI, and was subsequently transferred to N.A.T.U where I served in the capacity of a director. After my departure, the act was abolished because Collins was in his third year as a commissioned FBI agent in the logistics department before he was brought to serve as an interim boss and was made permanent later on." He paused and watched the reaction of his audience. He was satisfied with the look on the Minister's face, but the indifferent look on the Defence minister for state, secretary of Defence, Special Assistant to the president, and the commissioner for defence told him he needed to try harder. "A statistics was drawn up by the police considering the number of terrorist attacks we have had in the past months. The first attack was in late february, when some set of masked terrorist attacked, GoldenGate cinema, leaving a total number of sixty people dead and seventy five injured. On the twenty-ninth of February, A+ relaxation centre and hotels was attacked and despite recieving intelligence report one hour before the attack, the N.A.T.U team arrived one hour after the attack leaving sixty five people injured and about five dead. On the seventh day of March, the national stadium was attacked and despite recieving intelligence report from the FBI, N.A.T.U choosed to follow the report recieved from a certain private team of investigators which mislead them, and rather than go straight to the stadium to possibly avert the attack, the N.A.T.U team drove to Oceanview hotel where some suspected terrorists were lodged. A visit which was fruitless and by the time they arrived at the stadium, a lot of properties were destroyed." He paused. Looked around before he continued. "Hem.... Hem... Mr Andrew." The State minister for defence called. "Yes sir." Andrew said. "We shall look into the matter. Your report has put N.A.T.U in a very bad light and Mr Collins position is being threatened. But we won't act without confirming things. You can meet with the State commissioner after this conference to draft a commission to look into the issue and submit the report at the end of the week for formal action. Thank you." The state minister for defence explained. "Okay sir. But I thought..." Andrew was saying. "Mr Andrew?" The state minister called. "Don't think." Everyone in the hall bursted into laughter and that moment, Andrew took a bow and stepped down. ------------------------------------------ Clara walked out of her hotel room and descended the stairs down to the reception. "Good morning ma'am." The reeptionist of duty greeted. "Morning dear." She replied as she walked up towards the counter. "Please, which is the way to the hotel's restaurant?" She asked and instantly, the smile on the receptionist turned to a frown, under which fear was clearly visible. "Don't be angry ma'am. I will call the kitchen now and breakfast will be brought to your room. Please." The receptionist pleaded. Clara smiled. "I have no problem with the late breakfast. I just need to take something now." "Madam. I am acting on the instruction you left for the lady on duty yesterday. You said you don't want anybody disturbing you this morning as you needed to sleep. But don't worry, I will call the kitchen." "No, don't bother. Seriously, I am not angry." When she saw the genuity in her smile, she directed her to the kitchen. "Such a pretty woman." She thought, only to be brought back to the world around, by her ringing phone. It was CHICHI MARTIN, her bestfriend. END OF CHAPTER 10 |
--continuation-- Seated inside the Ministry of Defence conference hall was the Minister of Defence, Secretary of Defence, Special Adviser to the president of Security, The Inspector General of Police, The chief of Army staff, the Minister for defence(state) the commissioner for defence(Lagos state) and several security chiefs and security stakeholders. It was the quarterly review of the state of the nation which was done four times in a year in the Federal capital territory, but this quarter's was to be hosted in the city of Lagos, considering the security state of the State. The intelligence report of the activities of the terrorists camping somewhere inside Lagos or between Lagos and Ibadan or between Lagos and Ogun state as no one has been able to point at where the terrorist group led by Russian film maker turned terrorist, Danny Lovato plan their evil act. The special advisers to the Minister of Defence who also served as the advisers to the Lagos state commissioner for Defence, led by former N.A.T.U director, Mr Igho Andrew, closely assisted by a retired police Inspector, a former FBI director as well as other retired security agents of diferrent agencies. Mr Andrew was addressing the gathering as it was the normal thing to do. Whatever report he and his team came up with and the advice they have for the Minister will determine the decision that will be taken from the federal level. "In the quarter concluded 31/03 of the present year that we are in, there was a total of 72 armed robberies compared to the 144 recorded the in quarter ended 31/12 of the last year. Meaning, efforts from the Police force has reduced the armed robbery by half. And the quarter begining 1/04 of the present year up till the present day that we are in, the first day of April, there are only four recorded cases of armed robbery. If the statistics with me are anything to go by, then at the end of this quarter, cases of armed robbery as compared to that of the last quarter would have been reduced to below twenty percent. And before the end of the year, we will record for the first time a Lagos state free of armed robbery. All statistics are provided by the Nigerian police force, as signed by the Lagos state commissioner of police." Andrew concluded as he gave a knowing smile to the Police comissioner. "Kudos to the police." The Minister said. "Can we go on please?" "To the next agency with me here. The Nigerian army." Andrew said as he tried to produce the paper bearing statistical report from the NA. "Sorry, ladies and gentlemen. As a bloodly civillian, I am not permitted to read out statistics concerning the army. And the last thing I wanted is a few hours in the guard room." He said and everyone bursted into laughter, including the GOCs. "Therefore, the statistic report from the army is not available." He said. It was no new thing. Statistics report from the army was never availbale. No one has the time to write that as they do not deal with domestic crime and violence. "On to the next report here with me is the Federal Bureau for investigation." Andrew took his time to explain the detail of the FBI activities. Even though they are the most withdrawn agency any country could have. They are more of an underground investigators whose sole responsibity is to give intelligence report to the police or any other agency depending on the agency in charge of such cases. "The statistical report N.A.T.U is currently unavailable as the director, Mr Collins had in a different development vowed not to work with the team from the Federal and state ministries." Andrew began. "But how come we have it signed here as available?" The Lagos state commissioner for defence asked. "That could be some sort of oversight on the part of the members of your ministry madam. As we all know that N.A.T.U has never defaulted, their reports are always available. Maybe the person in charge signed, knowing that the report will be available." Andrew explained. "Do we have the director of N.A.T.U here with us?" The commissioner asked. "Mr Collins?" "I am representing him." A young man stepped out from the crowd. "Do you have it with you?" Andrew asked before anyone else could talk. "Not at all sir." "Go back to your sit." He told the man who walked away. Andrew looked at the high table where the security dignitaries were seated. When nothing was forth coming, he resumed. ------- The young agent who was sent to represent the N.A.T.U boss stepped out of the hall with his phone tightly held to he ear. "Sir, the quarterly report wasn't made available to the Ministry." He said as he made for a more silent part of the compound. "You mean Agent Christina didn't submit the blueprint?" Collin's voice boomed from the other end. --to be continued-- |
--continuation-- Daniel walked out of his room already dressed in his everyday uniform(suit) looking so great that even Chichi, his sister couldn't help but chip in how good looking he is. "What's cooking here?" He asked as he entered the living room where he was shocked to find his wife instead of Chichi who always made breakfast anytime she came visiting. "Specially made meal for my darling husband. Yam and egg sauce they call it." Adeola replied with a sweet and genuine smile. He took two retreating steps backward as if he had seen a ghost. Truly, seeing his wife in the kitchen preparing breakfast was like seeing a ghost, because it was unlike his wife. Not after all that took place the previous night which earned him two slaps and he slapping his wife once, plus the cheating accusation which glaringly, he was guilty of. The Adeola he knew wouldn't get out of bed until eleven o'clock and on getting up, she heads to the bathroom, does her drills then drive over to her in-law's(Daniel's parent) place. But seeing her in the kitchen could mean two things, she was starting to grow up maturedly, or she has something sinister about the whole cooking of a thing, even though he hated thinking about African diabolism. "Baby." She called. Only then did he realise that she was only inches away from him. He stared at her angrily. Inside her eyes he saw love, compassion and longing desire, but inside him was hatred, love for some other woman, love for his son. "I'll see you later." He said as he made to walk away, but she quickly grabbed his right arm and immediately she went on her knees. "Darling, please forgive me. I have realised my mistakes. You are the man, but I failed to realise that early on. But now, I am ready to be the wife you have always wanted." She cried. He wanted to move, but she held his legs like her life depended on them. Out of nowhere, a popular yoruba song came on, titled "Fa aya re mora" translated as "Draw your wife closer." Daniel knew only one person could be behind the music, and his thoughts were confirmed when Chichi's soronous voice came on and sang along, even if she couldn't speak the language very much. He could see a smile on his wife's face despite the tears rolling out of her eyes. "Please." Adeola said and slowly, he dragged her to her feet and immediately, they locked lips. And for the next one minute, they kissed, only to be broken by several flash of white light. "I got the best shots." Chichi screamed as she held tightly, her camera. "What the hell do you think you are doing?" Daniel asked. He was neither smiling nor frowning. He just had an indifferent look like nothing happened. "Wifey, see them here." Chichi said showing the pictures to Adeola who was smiling at the romantic pictures. "They are nice. Honey, aren't they?" This time Adeola had collected the camera and was showing the pictures to her husband who had an irritated look on his face. "Of course, they are very nice." He replied with a 'plastic' smile. "But seriously Chichi, I won't take it lightly with you the next time you try this." He glared at his sister. He could see the fear in his wife's eyes as well as the shoch and the tears treathening to spill. "But sweetheart why? They are only pictures, and we can't take them ourselves." Adeola asked. "Can't you just get it? I am in love with another woman." Daniel wished he had said that. As he imagined the rate at which tears will stream down his wife's face, and he imagined himself storming out of his house. But, he has not that kind of nerve at present. "Its is called privary infringement. When I am having a romantic moment, she came with her useless camera and cut it short with those stupid flashlight of hers." He explained and he could see the relief on their faces. "How about if we put this on Instagram? Twitter or facebook?" Chichi asked. "Leaked romantic photos of Daniel Martin, managing director of Godson group, Africa. Imagine the number of followers I will get on twitter for these pictures." "I know you won't put it. See you later darling." With this, he stepped out of the kitchen, making sure that he didn't get to kiss his wife for a second time. "First step completed. I'll go to the photographer outside the estate and get him to print these out. I will get this on my laptop too, so that I can finish the job today." Chichi explained. "Good one sis." Now in his car, Daniel allowed his mind to wander back to the kiss he had moments ago. It was like a dream to him, because he wasn't expecting to kiss Adeola anytime soon, as his heart beats for someone else. --to be continued-- |

After 24hrs of silence on this issue of IBB4luv and his facebook page, a decision has been made. While trying to stop him from plagiarising any other story on this section, as he can no longer plagiarise this(unless he can write the last set of chapters himself without deviating from the set plot) I have decided to stop this story. I am stopping this story and not suspending it as some people adviced. I will no longer be posting this story here or anywhere. Meaning, you might not get the chance to finish it, but for the sake of some people, I may decide to send the completion to the people who commented between pages 50 and 55. Therefore, I decide who it will be sent to, and not because someone requested that the story be sent to him/her. Also, I will no longer redirect people to where they can read the hidden chapters of my last story as I will password restrict the page. Taking this decision is not an easy task, but life itself was never made to be easy. Its nice to have you guys follow me and this story. Good morning. |
