3mbps = 375kb/s . That speed is almost impossible here in Nigeria. Not to talk of in a cafe. The highest one can get in a cafe here is 50kb/s

LTE is the next step from 3.5G &
High Speed Packet Access (HSPA)

Breaking the news at the
company’s head office in Lagos
to news men, the Group Chief
Operating Officer of Globacom,

mails using HSPA-enabled
systems and send or receive
video or music using G phones,
the experience with LTE will be
even better.
“It will further enhance more
demanding applications like
interactive TV, mobile video
blogging, advanced games or

more Nigerians to be on top of

their world”.
He said 4G service is already
present on its network in Lagos
and some other key cities in
Nigeria and will be provided for
corporate bodies on demand for
now.
According to him, last mile
services could be available in the
near future as 4G phone and
modems are made available in
Nigeria .
“For our subscribers, LTE offers
the key benefits of performance
and capacity”, he said, adding
that with its speed and reliability,
LTE, more than any other
technology, already meets key
4G requirements,” he said.
