Pacify: This bad road issue must have so gotten to you that you repeated it twice...lekki roads happen to be one of the best in the state but traffic is hell over there. |
Dear Nlanders, there are several things that could make one go crazy in Lagos. i think the following will be chief among them. 1. Traffic 2. Bad Road 3. Ladies pinging while driving 4. Bad Roads 5. Land Lord aggression. complete the rest |
Rossikk: You're talking rubbish my friend! So why are Chinese coming to Nigeria when there are over 2 billion people in China? Or do we have more ''favourable environment'' than China? Surely the market in China must be a better market than Nigeria to use your logic?? Why are Indians coming to Nigeria when there are 1 billion people in India? Surely there must be a better market in India than Nigeria? Some of you simply cannot make any cogent sense if it does not include criticising Nigeria. You need to snap out of it. Of course the reason the Chinese and Indians leave their shores to do business in Nigeria is market saturation for their wares in their own countries, the exact same reason that makes Nigerian traders move into smaller countries like Ghana.your premises and conclusions are totally wrong, have u asked yourself why would Nigerians prefer to do business in Ghana were there are stiffer tax laws, were there population is not up to that of lagos. the whole water they use in Ghana in a year is not u enough to flush toilets in Lagos besides, Nigeria is much more favourable for foreigners coming from advanced country cos they just come and dump there products here and siphon the proceeds back to their country. it is easier to import goods into Nigeria than manufacturing one here. you can ask Mitcheline and other manufacturers why they move why they moved to Ghana. it appears u have left the country for long an have lost touch with the current realities. u have to wake up my bother. |
Ndata: What about the Chinese who came into Nigeria under the pretense of opening factories only to start importing and retailing goods? What are our government doing about it? And they use low price to drive Nigerian retailers out of business. And now some of them who have relocated to Ghana to continue their retail business are being driven out. What are they suppose to do now.Our government should look seriously into this issues.I wonder what our immigration department is doing? Most of these Chinese don't have legal document to work in Nigeria. Many don't even have valid visas.Yet they are here running our country men out of business and repatriating the proceeds from this retail business back to their country.well said my brother. there over half a million Ghanaian doing business in Nigeria without any one disturbing them. |
Rossikk: My friend use your brain. This has NOTHING to do with ''developing our country''. Are Chinese in Nigeria doing business because they need to ''develop their country'' or are they here because of market saturation in China?off-course am using my brain. Chinese come to Nigeria becos its the largest market in Africa but most Nigerian in countries Like Ghana and CIV are seeking for favourable environment. Nigeria is a better market than Ghana any time. tell me what can you sell in Ghana that there is no better market for in Nija? My broda, stop fooling urself, Nigeria needs to wake up. very soon Benin republic will still start to chase us out. |
Arosa: I think it's time to teach Ghana a little lesson.or its time for us to learn a lesson. we should develop our country |
In spite of the visit of ECOWAS Parliamentary delegation to Ghana, the Inter-Agencies Task Force yesterday went on to enforce the law banning foreign traders operating in Ghana's small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs). The taskforce closed shops owned by foreign nationals at the Makola Market in Accra, and other markets invaded by these non-Ghanaians, who were operating illegally in Ghana's retail business sector. The Inter Agency Taskforce comprise of officials from the Registrar Generals Department, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, the Ghana Revenue Authority, Police, Immigration Service, Trade and Foreign Affairs Ministries earlier met to strategize on how to carry out the exercise. Recently, the Minister for Trade and Industry, Ms. Hannah Tetteh said the monitoring exercise by the Inter-Agencies Task Force would ensure that non-Ghanaians fully complied with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) laws. "The task force will move in the markets to shut down shops of non-Ghanaians who flout the laws of the land," she said. Ms. Tetteh noted that the provisions in the GIPC Act 478 was applicable to Ghanaians and citizens of the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS), hence the need for non-Ghanaians to comply with the minimum investment requirement of $300,000. The exercise went on despite strenuous efforts made by the visiting ECOWAS Parliamentary delegation to Ghana to intervene on behalf of ECOWAS nationals. The President of the Nigerian Community in Ghana, Mr. Albert Bayor, joined hundreds of Nigerian businesses and called for a review of the law. They hoped that the visiting ECOWAS delegation could come to their aid. The implementation of the GIPC Act 478, which is aimed at ensuring Ghanaians are not pushed out of business by foreign nationals, has irked some Nigerians and other ECOWAS nationals in the sub-region. Recently, Nigeria, West Africa's largest economy, threatened to severe diplomatic ties with Ghana. But, Ghana's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni, who said he was unaware of moves to sever diplomatic ties, said his country had not violated the rights of foreign businesses by implementing the GIPC Act. http://ghanaian-chronicle.com/taskforce-closes-shops-owned-by-foreign-nationals/ |
stepo707:no be laugh matter. |

some of the foreign companies import foreigners to occupy positions that can be handled by Nigerians. position like accounting and marketing. also, some of the expatriates are paid assassin salaries. why their local counterparts were paid stipends. |

Genius100: Poster, you are a m-oron. First, El Rufai did not write the article. Second, the article did not say christians are responsible for ALL the killings. Are you a m-oron and you just deliberately like to misrepresent facts?at first i thought you were right but now i know u were dead wrong. I am a free spirit.I live life to the fullest.Nothing shakes me Rufai004.jpg Rufai005.jpg |

bigheads: Am sort of confused where we are going in this country, These pastors are advertising these churches as if they were business entities. Jesus did not worry people like this during his ministry and he succeeded. The churches are springing up everywhere. Where are they getting all the money for these adverts, from tithes, which is meant for God (Eathing the fathers portion). There is punishment for this in the bible.your statements just confirmed the fact that you are a fool. jesus used all the available media during his days to preach his gospel d gospel. you also complained of springing up of churches but never complained about the springing up of bear palours, brothels etc. |
This is total nonsense, i am not an advocate of religious racketeering but this same brainless government will not ban nude and erotic artist to air their videos. This can only be done on a government owned station since they are not profit oriented. but i trust any private station desirous of profit will not cut short the source of its livelihood. |
toluxa1: Habeeb Bama, one of the masterminds of the UN building bomb, who was captured in Yobe during a shootout between men of the JTF and Boko Haram, has reportedly died as a result of injuries he sustained during the shootout.Another cover up. which way Nigeria? |
cogitoErgo: this is another conspiracy against the Igbos, a Yoruba woman conspiring with Plateau people to hang an Igbo robber, ObinahI can see how tribalism has blinded your eyes. the report simply shows the height of injustice. In Nigeria, if u steal small money u go to jail but if you still big money, the government sets up a panel. |
Azidogen2: The first step to curbing all the menace of boko haram in the north should involve raising the standard of living of the people to levels where good jobs, meaning skill acquisition centres, educational institutions, societal issues awareness centres, religious and ethnic issues awareness institutions and basic social amenities are put in place. When the status of people in a given region are not too differential in terms of quality of lives across all types of people with varying status, coercion into uncanny or unacceptable acts would be minimized greatly. Just check out in Nigeria today there is a very great gap in status; people who can afford good quality living status hardly exist. The gap between the rich and poor is alarmingly great. All is in shambles; on the northern part of Nigeria this is greatly reflected and is spreading gradually to other regions in Nigeria. The only distinguishing factor is that most northeners still have "stone age" mentality and are clueless with regards to what is good for themselves and others, thus the great gullibility of their people for the perpetration of destructive activities such as suicide bombing.brilliant words. |
Sirniyeh: Sincerely, all I think must be greatly and sacrificially done in this country is devoting all resources to changing individual mindset. Look at these barbaric Abokis, killing for N7000, may God forgive them. It is not all poverty but their mindset. Individual mindset makes fool. Some people are also deadly poor but still live meaningful lives. But if we can employ all possible measures to eradicate that deadly religion call Islam that polutes their mindset, then NIGERIA will be at peace. Believe me, there can never be peace in this country unless we split. Nigeria is 3x bigger than some african and asian countries. Even, only one state is bigger than another country. Why not all advocate for breakup? |
This is the height of poverty in the land. when government fail in their responsibilities, it gives room for terrorist to take advantage of the situation. As long as the federal government continue to play politics with education and infrastructural development, we are bound to see more peasant selling their lives for nothing. Prepare for more. |
@ kobojunkie. why not find out your self. the link is there to buttress my claims. if you have been following him on twitter you wouldn't have been surprised. |
The former Minister of the Federal Republic has made it clear that Christians are the once responsible for the killings in the northern part of Nigeria. He bared his mind on his Facebook page today. https://www.facebook.com/nasirelrufai/posts/10151832787470128 |
u sound like a boko haram sympathizer. i believe our security system is compromised, so the best thing is for a neutral security system (usa) to be involved.and get dis poo out of ur country once and for aall. am i support of u. if this action will make our leaders re-think, am in support of it. |
There has been several argument from several quarters that the Islamic dreaded group called boko haram are fighting for freedom just list MEND did in the past.is this assertion true or some people just want to give crime a good name. NIralanders please compare and contrast. |
