There are measures to save his life. I have trained for this. Automated External Defibrillator + CPR could have saved his life. You go into cardiac arrest before you die, you just don't die instantly.

The process to save his life can go on for minutes. It's takes around 4 minutes to 10 minutes before someone can die due to brain injury.

But aren't AED usually used in sedentary cardiac arrest. I've never heard of them using AED for someone actively engaging in a strenuous sporting activity. I mean we've see so many collapses on soccer fields but no AED being used
