The Maria signing wasn't something we really needed last summer and it was something I very quickly pointed out

We needed a Dm more and as we would have it, hindsight has done justice to that assertion

we grabbed the chance to sign one of the best and most in-form players in the world so as to fortify a particular position that has suffered so badly since the exit of Ronaldo and the losses of form for both nani and Valencia. This IMO, wasn't a bad idea.

How would the acquisition of Vidal have prevented LVG from playing the 3-5-2 system that made us play so poorly, or the injuries that ravaged our back line at the start , or the lackluster performances of our centre forwards all season(if you ask me, these are the major factors that affected us )

The team is still a work in progress - certain positions have to be strengthened, certain players need ( and will need ) time to blend in, etc. To me, the whole thing might become a distraction during the summer transfer window (and even during the course of next season).
