Part of the fault is from our attackers behind Rooney. The only one time Rooney went to the wing to cross, he looked up and gave a telling pass to Mata in the box within 8 yards of the goal. But Memphis and Januzaj were competing to see who could cause more individual havoc to the opposition.

Even when the young boys cross, they put it in the position of the defender even though the striker is moving steps away to gain positional advantage.

Another problem, we are playing deep in defence this season, which is good because it makes us stable. But we don't have the experience legs to carry the ball forward quickly. Counter attacks are killed on arrival. Oppositions regroup to crowd the striker before we get to the final third.

If Mata had pace, he would have got to the box with good great counters with just one or two defenders left. Januzaj also killed one, not that he didn't have the legs, but because he decided to dribble at the wrong time.

If I would suggest, Valencia and Young should play the right wing. Valencia' s quick legs will help us carry the ball forward faster and the oppositions would be less adventurous with his presence. If we bring a right wing forward with pace, fine. But we are shooting our legs trying to play a craft man there, it can work if our defence play a high line.

In the last few minutes we played a higher defence and with Valencia`s presence we gained the advantage to pressure.

As we both know, Rooney isnt the "hyena" kinda CF, So why does he look soo disinterested & Laid-back whenever he recieves the ball in a vantage position?

Fans gave LVG a long rope because of his antecedents but now he is slowly running out of rope. I hope he won't use that rope to hang himself.

1) Switch Mata behind the striker and try him there. He has the best vision and short pass in the whole team, he lacks the pace to play wide and does not offer enough protection for his full back.

2) Make our play less sedate in pace and play more vertical football. All these sideways passes they are playing.....diaris God o

3) CF with pace and finishing, and a genuine RWF.

Maybe LVG wants a dynamic attacking trio behind the main CF..hence the januzaj/mata/Depay positional rotations.

I stand to be corrected, but I think the kagawa/Goetze/Reus combo didn't have a stereotyped wideman or "hole man."

Wether it would work in the EPl is another issue entirely sha..

I know it's still too early in the season but Depay seems to be too eager to impress & it isn't in his own interest. There were instances where he was just crossing like Ashley young.

And I saw Memphis always on same line or slightly behind Rooney from the blast of the whistle. That left a huge gap between the midfield and attack.

Assuming the purchase of pedro won't stop us from buying a proper CF, it would have been better but from the look of things, it seems LVG is looking to add just one foward/striker to the team.

And yes, aside pedro's "hustling" and scoring beautiful crafted "awoof" goals, I really don't see him as the solution to the impending problems we're gonna have in attack this season.
