Congrats Please, did you go there for collection on Feb 5 and were you told to come back today or you just took your time? My wife captured on Monday, February 10th and was told to come for pick up today, February 13th. She got there 12pm and left 5pm but was not given her passport. She said they were all asking for the contact person/officer who helped her but she replied she did it herself. After 5 hours she was told it's not ready. Her request is renewal cum name change. House, it is possible it's not ready truly or they just want to frustrate her efforts because she did it herself? Please, what is the office Twitter handle of NIS? I will like to escate this. Thanks Innunique: Finally collected mine today. got there past 10am, dropped the printout inside the basket. Got called up few minutes later, went inside for activation and signed out.
Lets be hopeful the good service is sustained. The New passport looks much better and improved. |

Thanks for the feedback. Just to clarify, she will fill the application form online and also type another letter addressed to the NIS requesting for name change right? taitee: She needs 3 passports She will need to fill application letter and type an application form for change of name. Then get a file. The business centers around there should be able to help with that. She can check online if its there. She also needs photocopy of her husbands passport. |

Hi guys, I have someone who wants to renew her international passport and do name change too, and would like to go the DIY way.
Can this be done at Ikoyi NIS office?
Would she be required to get a guarantor too?
Aside from NIN, newspapers publication, sworn affidavit of name change, old int'l passport, two passport photographs, marriage certificate and biodata form, is there any other documents to be submitted?
Must the newspaper publication be original or photocopy will suffice?
Any idea of how long it takes?
Thanks |

A quick question, please. Was your 25% of pension funds a buffer or part of the required POF?

Yes, it was actually. 25k CAD is almost the POF for a family of 5, lol. No one should obviously pay that as consultancy fee. cc: Justwise ednut1: this was a joke o. No licensed agent even charges that |

Oga Salford1, I love this kind of "boring" lifestyle o. It just makes a lot of sense. Wetin man pikin want again? I guess Sask is your province of residence... Cheers. Hakuna Matata salford1: I have been thinking of how to answer this question. I would type a response, then decide to ignore.
Well, who "not boring" help?
Some of us came to Canada for better living and a quality lifestyle, not to chase excitement, or look for events to increase our adrenaline or HBP - Lagos has plenty of that.
Infact, after arriving Canada, some of us even move into more quiet areas to live an even more boring life, like some of the naija folks I have met in my new city of residence lol.
I moved from Calgary to a city of 16k people by what I will call stroke of luck, and now that we have had several opportunities to move back to a bigger city - Calgary inclusive, we would back track when we think if what we would be leaving behind. Things like driving from home to work places under 10 minutes, kids schools under 10minutes, doctor and hospital - under 10minutes: Infact the doc is only one call away, emergency-out of hospital under 30minutes, cheaper housing and living expenses (for the 1st time, we were able to bank over 100k within a year since moving to Canada, this was after taking out expenses, including hols outside the country), kids daycare under 10min, very flexible working hours, a drive to farms to buy better chicken, beef and goat - under 20minutes, going to malls - under 10minutes, kids taekwondo and swimming classes - under 10minutes, prime amazon delivery gets stuffs to our doorstep, low crime rate etc. I am driving to Regina today for a work meeting and already dreading the small Regina traffic.
On public holidays, we Nigerians (docs, specialists, engineers, pharms, accountants, others still in licensing process, and those looking to God for good jobs etc) in our boring city gather together to party, cook, drink, merry, and discuss about naija. After hols, we return to our boring city lifestyle of taking care of our families.
We might move back to a bigger city later, but we want to enjoy this boring lifestyle to the fullest first lol, and when we do, it won't be for excitement seeking reasons. |

Standard leave days differ from company to company and level to level. A banking officer may be entitled to 20 working days while that of a Manager may be 30 working days. Tina26: is standard leave not 20 working days Stop looking for issues where there are none |

Oh yea! bankyh1905: @bolded: According to IRCC, "we don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week". Look it up here |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by DadR: 7:53am On Nov 12, 2019 |
Another angle to this. What if the person worked 40 hours per week throughout the work experience period he/she is claiming, shouldn't this fly considering the fact that 30 hrs per week for 12 months equals 1 year work experience? In essence, 40 or 50 hours per week should be more than 1 year work experience. A scenario: Will January 4, 2010 to December 31, 2011 count as 1 year work experience or not? Note that January 1 - 3 are off. Your thoughts? Cc: ednut1, blissnenye Eraytee: @bold is correct, If the AOR comes after completing 3yrs as said by @blissnenye the applicant would be ok because if you calculate the work experience as at AOR and it clocks 3yrs you are good, same thing goes to age |
