OfficialAPCNig: You are informed. Kudos.
Enugu made that list with Accra alongside Barcelona, Paris, London, Athens, Atlanta. Over 360 cities were examined but only 35 made the list that year.
The Rockerfeller foundation were trying to map out the top 100 most resilient cities in the world and they did it in batches. Enugu and the other 34 cities made the first batch and started acting as model for cities seeking for global resilience.
Lagos used the Enugu model and in the next batch was appointed.
They couldn't maintain that status, a year later Lagos was named 2nd worst place to live in the world by The Economist while Enugu was again named the Most Serene Place to Raise Kids in Nigerian.
This years Lagos has deteriorated more into dirtiness.
Few years back The Rice Report named it The Mega City of Slum. According to the report over 60% of Lagosians are Slum Dwellers.
Open defeacation is a part of the city together with their stunted bungalow private residential buildings.
Lagos cannot catch up with Enugu in serenity and majesty.
#Fact This is very true nwanne. |

OfficialAPCNig: Go and read of industrialization in the East before and during the war. Technological advances Biafra achieved during the war are yet to be replicated here in Nigeria after many years of the war.
Even though their Federal Universities are not ranking number 1 now, but in Literacy rate, best performance in WAEC and foreign Universities, enrollments in Medicine, Law and Engineering the East is besting all regions.
When it comes to fiscal prudence, the total debts of SE is 7.8% of all the debts of the 36 States plus FCT.
When it comes to power, by 2020 all the power stations in SE are completed, SE will generate over 5000MW of electricity.
With power to formulate their own fiscal and monetary policies, Biafra will be a great nation under the sun, economically, socially and militarily. Even in nutrition, average household income, crime rate and achievement of Millennium Development Goals(MDGs) we best all regions. Enugu was the first city in west Africa to join list of most economically resilient cities in the world alongside Paris and New York. Onitsha and Nsukka according to demograghia are part of most built up cities in the world. We also have the fastest rising middle class in this contraption so our future looks bright. Also the OP seems to be quite uninformed. The current 2018 forbes list of richest nigerians contains 4 Igbo men. |

Ofuzo: Nice talk, but I didn't see you come to my defense when some of them were ATTACKING me for raising an alert on the so called hospital project by the ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN. Some of them even suggested that I was FEAR MONGERING. A couple of them were ATTACKING CHRISTIANITY AND EXTOLLING THE VIRTUES OF ISLAMIC REPUBLICS. Just on that alone, I was hoping for people to jump on them, but they jumped on me instead. I agree with you about the STRANGE silence of the igbos on the disappearance of nnamdi kanu. Not just nnamdi kanu, but his father, who is the TRADITIONAL RULER of their village. Can you imagine an emir from the north disappearing during the time of GEJ!!!! It's truly disheartening. Also such Islamic project shall never be successful. I was too bewildered by what I was seeing to come to your aid and for that I am truly sorry. |

Kokolet11: ok sir let us wait till nigeria die out but let us also stop crying like babies over what nigeria govt is doing to igbos. From the comments I must agree with you. Igbos deserve everything they are suffering. The current Igbo race is critically lacking in WISDOM. With everything Igbos are suffering today that there are still "one nigeria" igbos in existence shows how foolish igbos are. Some will put others before their fellow igbos and igboland and when you talk they give stupid excuses like "it makes more business sense" or the most stupid one "igbos are accommodating" why can't you accommodate your land and people first? Whenever someone rises to fight for igbos every idiot in the land will be fighting him until he goes instead of getting full support and then when everyone is back to square one the crying and complaining resumes again(is this an ancestral curse?). Just see how Nnamdi Kanu disappeared and igbos are not even concerned(what a shame). Right now I'm at the point of almost giving up on the igbo race. |

Ofodirinwa: Uncoordinated is the word. I was thinking 'wow enugu is beatiful, next post someone is saying they should plow it over for mechanized farming. We seem to not have the foresight or confidence in ourselves and to develop in a health way. Our lack of confidence makes us undervalue what makes our land special and we regularly destroy our land, cultures, bodies and minds in pursuit of nothingness Mechanized farming will bring in a lot of dollars for Enugu. We need to develope Enugu aggressively to achieve high economic expansion and development. The local farmers will also benefit. |
