eyeview: Let's be sincere, the north voted buhari because he was their own,not because he had any better programme that GEJ. The west voted Buhari simply because of the Osibanjo/Tinubu factor. Afterall, buhari has been contesting since, why didn't they recognise him as the change all this while. I ask an ardent yoruba Apc supporter if he would have been clamouring for this change if Buhari had chosen Rochas or Ngige as running mate,he never answered. Its all tribal. Last note: let's pray that Apc learns from GEJ and provide a level electoral playing field to vote them out when they fail to perform(though I doubt). Was northern Nigerian in a different country when Buhari lost the elections in 2003, 2007 and 2011? If not, where was there votes going to? If the SW voted for Buhari because of Osinbajo/Tinubu why did they vote for Jonathan and Sambo in 2011? Am a Niger deltan, I tell you the Igbos are the most bias tribe in Nigeria. You people has refused to understand the politics of the country hence is fast becoming politically irrelevant. If you play your cards well you'll surely have a go at the presidency but no you won't. Okorocha tried his best and is still working intelligently, I pray he remain steadfast in his pursuit of igbo political relevance. |

On a lovely morning in the month of November 2014, I was woken by a room mate radio, I heard "Buhari is the only incorruptible past leader Nigeria has had" since it was radio Nigeria I ignored the statement and went about my project in the laboratory, animals demanding my presence. Am one of those who sat on the fence when it comes to politics in Nigeria but these words kept returning to my mind, being a very curious person I researched on general Buhari.
My research showed he was the direct opposite of all his haters called him. A man of integrity, he is honest and incorruptible. They called him an islamic fanatic but his cabinet during his brief rule was 60% christians. Need I mentions other gracious achievements and character.
I became a supporter. Here on NL with millions more prove of his integrity, honesty and stand against corruption, I became his fanatic.
Am a Deltan, PDP made sure our votes didn't count just like in River state, but we thank God for our brothers in the far North and SW.

Deltagiant: Arrant nonsense from Osita Okechukwu. This is a subtle threat and it has no place in politics. Let's assume for a second that Buhari wins, and Ndigbo did not give him 25%, what will he do that Ndigbo have not seen since 1970?
This is absolutely a stupid statement for God's sake! What is wrong with this primitive people masquerading as politicians?
Buhari has in the past denied the South East valuable infrastructure when he was in uniform and many more without regrets. Or is he this time going to withhold the federal allocation due to the states in the SE or what? So what is the basis for all these threats.
Ndigbo are renowned survivalists and will as usual out live a Buhari presidency. No matter what, they'll still maintain their commercial and economic pride in Nigeria. But, before then, let Buhari win the election first.

Adminisher: APC governor is likely in Rivers but I am not sure Buhari wins it. One important factor is that Riverine Rivers used to be close to the core north (they continually punished Zik, Awo and Falae with rejection in the past) and they might also have decided to punish Jonathan and Patience for another reason entirely; high handedness in moving governorship to the upland. The important consideration in Rivers and Akwa Ibom politics is after Good luck what next, only people who are chopping g now can answer that in the affirmative so maybe Buhari still takes it. Also in Akwa Ibom there are serious intra state ethnic cleavages and tensions that APC can exploit. PDP will reap heavily in Lagos because of anger at Tinubu's oligarchial approach to politics and government. Ambode will not win but Buhari will sweep it. Jonathan will LOSE the election because of corruption and complete lack of political, inspirational and leadership skills I agree with you on several points above but bet to disagree on Ambode losing to PDP, that can never happen. |

dotcomnamename: Base on the current situation on ground with the fact that Jonathan's less popular than he was prior to the 2011 elections. To evaluate the strength of Buhari on the APC platform which cuts across the nation.
THE ANALYSIS
Jonathan will win Rivers overwhelmingly. though not a complete sweep as obtained in 2011 due to Amaechi factor.
Jonathan was stoned in Bauchi inspite of the presence of Muazu as the party chairman and you still called it a swing state??
Buhari swept Bauchi in the last election and Jonathan did not get up to 25% vote cast; that was even when there was no anti Jonathan in the North. This time around, Jonathan will not get up to 15% of the vote cast. It's Buhari all the way.
In Kaduna, Buhari will improve on the result of 2011 election due to the insurgency and el Rufai factor
In Kano, Jonathan did not get up to 25% of the vote cast in 2011 with the advantage of a pdp Governor, let alone now, when Buhari has the overwhelming supporter of the APC governor and the emir. It will be a complete sweep by Buhari
Delta's Jonathan all the way.
Niger state is Buhari all the way
The swing states are:
1. Benue;;;;;; ;Disunity in Benue PDP, Buhari might take it
2. Kogi;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;The Yoruba factor(Osinbajo), that's the reason I call it a swing state. However, It might swing to Jonathan
3 Taraba ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;Disunity in PDP. Secondly, due to the threats from the Militants of the Niger delta, Danjuma might work for Buhari (Not so likely) Don't forget Jonathan was stoned in Jalingo .. Not so popular as he was prior to 2011
4 Ondo;;;;;;;;;;The Yoruba factor makes it a swing state coupled with the internal fracas within the PDP that led to the defection of some of its members to the APC..... It might swing to Jonathan
5 Ekiti;;;;;; Same as Ondo;;;;;;;Might swing to Jonathan due to Fayose
6 Lagos;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;Too close to call. It might swing to Buhari due to Tinubu, Osinbajo, fashola and yoruba fator....and the votes of the Hausas in lagos. The Yorubas are for Buhari. Besides, APC is also strongly rooted here. As such, it may go for Buhari. But i still consider it a swing because of the Igbo population which's about 20% of the total population of Lagos..
APC(Buhari states< Or Buhari will win in these states>
1 Adamawa ;;;;;;;; The Boko haram factor against Jonathan. The Christians in Adamawa will not vote for Jonathan because he was unable to protect them... Don't forget, virtually all the Chibok girls are Christians.. Jonathan never considered this fact when he handled Boko Haram with kid gloves
2 Kano 3 Kaduna 4 Kebbi 5 Gombe 6 Borno 7 Yobe 8 Katsina 9 Niger 10 Kwara 11 Nasarawa 12 Zamfara 13 Bauchi 14 Jigawa 15 Osun 16 Oyo 17 Ogun 18 Edo 19 Abuja 20 Sokoto
PDP (Jonathan states Or Jonathan will win in these states
1 Bayelsa 2 Delta 3 Rivers 4 Cross rivers 5 Akwaibom 6 Anambra 7 Abia 8 Enugu 9 Ebonyi 10 Imo.................Certainly not overwhelming 11 Plateau
By and large, the pendulum swings to Buhari. Having considered all the permutations, there's no way Jonathan can win the 2015 presidential election if it's conducted on 28th March 2015 with the Card Reader. The momentum behind Buhari is like a hurricane Buhari will win River state, Jonathan will pull not more than 60% votes in Akwa Ibom. Also surprises await Jonathan in Imo and Plateau as his victories in 2011 will greatly decline in both states. |

I then asked you how come top football nations tend to be from huge nation and the only nation to win despite not having huge population is Uruguay.
All the teams you mentioned haven't won any trophy not in the world or in their continent. You are over flogging this issue. In your words you said 'name a small country apart from uruguay that is a top football destination' I replied with few names then you said they are not because they've not won the world cup or even a continental their cup. Netherland has won the European cup once and have been three time runners up in the world cup. Paraguay with 6m has won the copa america twice. Chile, cameroon, portugal are also very strong teams in their continents. Would you now say because Netherland didn't win the word cup they not a top football destination nation? I repeat top football countries in the world are not necessarily more populous than others Egypt is less populous than Nigeria but has excelled more in continental football competitions than Nigeria Population aint it my broda! |

Countries with larger population dominates in soccer especially in their home continent. The only country to defy all the odds is Uruguay and few african countries like Ghana. They are strong footballing nations in their continent and the world. Their player play top football. Some have won their continental trophies. They've reached several semi-final and final of the world cup. OR are you trying to say Ghana has won the world cup before?
