Phones / How My Facebook Account Of 8 Years Was Hacked And Hijacked, A Cautionary Tale by dagreensblog: 9:47pm On Nov 06, 2017
This is a cautionary tale of how my Facebook account of 8 years was hacked and hijacked.
So many things goes on in the spiritual realm that we as mortals may not know, at least that's what 'spiritual people' say and we can only imagine until we are opportune to catch a glimpse of what it feels like.

In the same vain, a lot goes on in the internet like cyber crimes and hacking. For most of us who have not seen or been a victim of any of it, we could only imagine and sometimes dismiss the possibility of ever being their victim until we are hit!
That's what my case was, I have been an active Facebook user since 2010, with over thousands of memories in form of posts, pictures and videos.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The hacker came through my Facebook friend whom I know in person.
I first noticed that I have an active friend whose name were all in Arabic words so I became curious to know who this friend was, a friend I couldn't remember sending or accepting friends request from.

After going through his profile and previous chat I had with that account, I found it was actually someone I knew from 'home', at first I wasn't suspicious of the account because I knew people could be 'Crazy ' to the extent of changing their social network names to whatever that pleases them probably for fun or popularity so I did not border to ask him what was with the Arabic stunt. I just decided to ask him about school because the supposed owner of that profile (whom I knew) is a student.
His reply was very normal like the real owner of the account, He sent me a link pleading with me to Vote for him in a contest he was a participant by following the link. I obliged but when I opened the link I found that the design of the site was like that of Facebook and my log in details (Username and Password) were demanded.
After a while, I decided not to just type in my log in details immediately and ask my friend what the whole voting-contest was all about. I switched back to Facebook and asked him, he told me it was one "Street stuff" he was into and that it meant a lot to him, according yo him, he really needs my vote because he was very passionate about winning.
At that point I gave up asking even though my heart was telling me that something was not just right(but the thought of being hacked was not there at all).

I followed the link again and had my facebook log in details put in after which i did not see any thing like 'vote' or 'contest', rather it displayed something that read "This is an IP..... I can't fully remember, the site actually told me that my log in details has been disclosed to it.(yet it didn't occur to me to even change my password).
I really didn't understand what it meant but I was sure that something was going to happen.
I went back to Facebook and told him I wasn't comfortable with the site and that I fear my security has been compromised. He apologized and said that the link might be the wrong link, that he was going to ask for another from " The link providers ". I resolved I wasn't going to clique on any other link he was going to send unknown to me that the process of hacking my account had already began!

My mind was taken off the issue with replying other messages and comments and for the rest of the night, I did Facebook without noticing anything, the next morning I did Facebook up until noon when I decided to take a Nap. I was still half my sleep when my younger brother called me and was asking why I changed my Facebook name to 'Abdulsalem Mohammed Loni', a name that sounded very strange to me. I quickly stood up from bed and told him I never did, he said to me that "Your account has been hacked".
That was when I told him about my encounter the previous night, I hanged up on him to check things out and behold my account has been logged off and displaying a strange name(Abdulsalem Mohammed Loni) with my picture (He later changed the picture).
I tried to gain access with my password but to no avail, I was very tensed and my head was blank for more than 3 minutes.
When I started thinking again, I called my brother back and asked him to send me the phone number of that my Facebook friend through whom the hacker got access to me. I was later told that His(my Facebook friend) account was being run by a hacker for some time, that he has been trying to gain access to the account all to no avail. That was when it became very clear to me that I HAVE BEEN HACKED!

I explored all the means provided by Facebook and others to get back a hacked account but they yielded nothing!
Meanwhile, the hacker was online and busy deleting my personal informations and putting up fake ones that was meant to be his, I watched my account of 8 years being raised down bit by bit!

WHY I COULDN'T RECOVER MY ACCOUNT
After reading this post, there is every possibility that you will blame me for my ordeal well, that is your thought/opinion, you are entitled to it and I respect that. For me I have come to reality with the fact that my account is gone for good, the main purpose of this post is for people to learn from my story and avoid being a victim because every now and then, accounts are been hacked, and if people don't have access to this type of report, more accounts will be lost!
One will argue that people's account have been hacked in the past and they later retrieved their account through one way or the other but not losing it completely, yes its true, let me also add that my friend through whom the hacker got to me later got his account back! Yes, I was the Aaron!

Now, I was unable to recover my account basically because I didn't have an active recovery email on my Facebook account as at the time of the hacking. I had my email on my profile sometime ago until I got fed up with receiving unending notifications right inside my mail inbox, now instead of simply turning off the email notification from my Facebook account settings, I decided to remove it completely. Had it been my email was registered on my Facebook profile as at the time of the hacking, Facebook will automatically send me a mail that my password changed, regardless of who did the changing.

With your email activated on your Facebook profile, what Facebook does when your password changes is to alert you via your recovery email, providing you with a link that allows you undo any changes made on your account if you're not the initiator, once you clique on that link, you will be made to answer questions about your account which they believe that only the real owner of the account will know and after that you will be able to retrieve your account with new log in details and that was exactly how that my Facebook friend, whose account was hacked and got to me, recovered his own.

WARNING/ADVISE
If you are reading this post and you don't have at least one recovery email registered on your profile, please you need to put em up like right now to avoid 'Had I know/story that touches the heart'.
It is very important you have a recovery email on your profile.

Please do not expose your security online by disclosing your log in details to any site you are not sure of its authenticity.
But if for any reason you happen to disclose your log in details, especially password, please do change them immediately.

Lastly, Facebook has introduced a couple of ways to maintain your security online and to get you back to your account incase you are having issues logging in, one of them is sending a unique code to 3-5 of your trusted friends, these codes when assembled together will automatically get you back to your account.
Please go to your security and log in settings to activate it today.

Politics / IPOB Press Release: Judge Runs Away After Proscribing IPOB by dagreensblog: 9:59pm On Oct 23, 2017
Proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra,
IPOB has said that Justice Kafarati of the federal High Court Abuja who proscribed the group is purposely staying away from hearing the case of the proscription between the group and FG.

Read full statement as released by IPOB

IPOB PRESS RELEASE

IPOB Proscription: Judge Runs Away After Proscribing IPOB

We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide under the command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu do hereby wish to register our displeasure at the inability of Nigeria's Attorney General and Justice Kafarati to be in court today in the matter IPOB vs FGN regarding the designation of IPOB as a terrorist group in an exparte order obtained without our lawyers present.

It took the Attorney General of Nigeria, Chief of Defence Staff, Nigerian Army, South East governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo less than 30 minutes to obtain their black market ex-parte order proscribing and designating IPOB a terror group.

Today at the same Federal High Court Abuja, the same judge in the person of the Hausa Fulani Islamic Justice Kafarati has run away from hearing the case he himself fixed for hearing this morning, knowing fully well the world is waiting for the outcome of his considered judgement given that he now has the opportunity to hear from both parties.

Nigeria was quick to label IPOB a terror group but cannot come before the same court and judge to defend their wild accusations because IPOB lawyers came prepared with facts that would have led to the dismissal of Justice Kafarati as a High Court judge. All those legally ignorant people in Nigeria, jumping up and down with joy when the corrupt Justice Kafarati issued his decree in his chambers tagging IPOB a terror group, where are you now to tell us why IPOB should not be heard in your own law court. Black market jungle justice is what badly educated judges like Kafarati has turned the Nigeria Judiciary into.

Nigeria has now formed the habit of either running away from the law court or using indefinite adjournments to frustrate any trial they know they are going to lose.

As they failed to appear before ECOWAS Court sitting in Abuja in the matter Kanu vs FRN last week, again today the judge himself- an APC pro-government judge for that matter, has failed to show up in such an important high profile case with global significance, in the hope of using adjournment after adjournment to frustrate the only opportunity IPOB has to prove to the world that it is not a terror organisation.
This lying APC Government think they are smart. As usual the Buhari government asked Justice Kafarati to stay away from court today and in its stead leaked the counter affidavit to the motion filed by Abaribe's lawyer demanding the Senator produce Kanu to the public.

This APC Government gimmick of seeking to always divert attention away from topical issues is becoming worrisome. They designed the news headline today in readiness to divert public attention away from the non appearance of Justice Kafarati in court.
Unfortunately this has become the norm for this morally bankrupt Buhari administration. A government that actively engage in lying and deception should not be entrusted with the protection and preservation of the process of the rule of law.

With newspaper headlines screaming "Kanu is in the custody of Abaribe" they hope to divert focus away from the disgraceful non appearance of Justice Kafarati to Senator Abaribe suretyship. A very clever ploy of using manufactured sensational news stories to kill public interest in genuine cases of concern to the people. Welcome to legal practice in Buhari's Nigeria.
The UN, USA, EU, UK, France, Israel and Russia must demand from Buhari why this judge ran away from hearing this suit. It was Nigeria that single handedly, without any evidence, court hearing or legislative backing, declared IPOB a terror group. Since the laws of Nigeria, or what is left of it, allows IPOB to challenge such draconian order in a court of law, Buhari and his Attorney General should be honorable enough to allow due process rather than asking the judge to skip his own hearing.

According to an eye witness in Abuja Federal High Court today, "I entered inside the court this morning with Barrister Maxwell Okpara, only to be informed that the same judge(Abdul Kafarati) that granted the prayers for the proscription of IPOB has postponed the matter to a later date. Okpara said the man is obviously running away from the case. We're now waiting for the Court clerk to pick another date of adjournment."
Given the hopelessness and inability of the National Assembly in Nigeria to rein in the excesses of this Buhari regime, the international community is morally obliged to impose limited sanctions on Nigeria for this brazen subversion of the rule of law and undisguised dictatorial tendencies which breeds instability.
They have made it impossible for the common man to view the law court as a place to obtain justice in Nigeria. All IPOB is asking for, is an opportunity to prove before a court of law that IPOB is not a terrorist organisation.

COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.

Read below:

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMAD BUHARI.

Igbo Muslims are denied positions and recognition in their Home Town And in their own state.
During your interview and your name is a mix of Islamic name ,automatically they will be a mixed feelings in the heart of the panel.

Muslim igbos came for Air force Recruitment this year at Kaduna, the officer in charge of screening a Yoruba man became annoyed with them when they said they are Muslims and Igbo's. He told them that " no way for them " " they are deceiving them selves in this place" until those boys started calling people like us to call whom we know... How long shall Igbo Muslim be marginalised in Nigeria .
What offence have we committed in being a muslim igbo?
Tears roll my eyes ,when I remember how the past governor of Ebonyi state .Elechi Martins called igbo Muslims from Afikpo Hausa settlers who claim to be igbos and denied them opportunity in the NDA for eight years of his tenure.

The igbo Muslims campaigned heavily under the sun and rain for this government to be voted in and our reward is total NEGLECT!
many starved themselves and family to campaign for this government with hope of being rewarded but alas! We are neglected and forgotten!
Does no muslim igbo have the qualification for all the ministerial positions?
Does no muslim Igbo have the qualification for the DG appointment?
Does no Muslim Igbo have the qualification for the federal appointment?

What a mess ? What a life of restiveness?
What imbalance in distributing national cake?
Silence is a crime in the land of injustice!

NYSC / NYSC Redeployment/relocation: Important Things You Have To Know by dagreensblog: 4:04pm On Oct 19, 2017
In Nigeria, what is usually on the minds of most fresh graduates weather from private or public institutions is the compulsory one(1) year service organized by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), a body that was established by the Government of Nigeria.

Th NYSC redeployment Scheme was established based on three(3) main factors; Health, Marital and Security grounds.

The question of redeployment or relocation only comes to mind if the state of deployment isn't conducive or favorable to us or the State is attributed to life threatening situation (Bokoharam, Political/Religious uprising).
Many corps members desire to redeploy to another state closer to home but what many don't understand is what grounds a redeployment request is being considered by NYSC board.

In this post, I shall be discussing the most acceptable grounds for redeployment under the three(3) main factors mentioned above.

Politics / Ondo Govt Suspends Activities Of Okada Riders’ Union by dagreensblog: 10:35am On Oct 11, 2017
AKURE—DETERMINED to curb criminality, Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, yesterday, suspended the activities of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria, ACOMORAN, the umbrella body of Okada riders in the state.
Criminal activities have been traced to some members of the union across the state in recent time.

Vanguard gathered that many students have been kidnapped and slaughtered by ritualists after such victims engage the services of Okada riders in many towns of the state on their way to or from school.

Even cult members using Okada recently engaged in a cult war in Akure, the state capital.
Not fewer than 10 persons were killed by rival cult groups fighting over supremacy in the state capital recently.
In what looked like a relief, the state government yesterday wielded the big stick by suspending the activities of the union.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Segun Ajiboye, in Akure said; “The executive body of the association in the state is dissolved with immediate effect.

“The suspension of the activities of the association follows several complaints of illegal activities levelled against the body.
“Governor Akeredolu asks all commercial motorcycle riders in the state to comply with this directive and maintain the peace.’’

Ajiboye added that “The office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties & Strategy is to take over the running of the activities of the association in the interim.

Politics / 3m Bottles Of Codeine Consumed Daily In North— Senate by dagreensblog: 9:58am On Oct 11, 2017
ABUJA—THE Senate, yesterday, raised the alarm that the 19 Northern states of the federation were under serious threat due to drug abuse, stating that over three million bottles of codeine syrup were consumed daily in Kano and Jigawa states.
It disclosed that across the 19 states, women, young girls in tertiary institutions, working class ladies, married, unemployed women displaced by Boko Haram insurgency, among others, were involved in drug abuse, and that in 2015 alone, over 2,205 people were arrested in North-West geo-political zone by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, over drug-related abuses.

Senate chamber
Consequently, the Senate mandated its Joint Committee on Drugs and Narcotics and Health to investigate the growing menace of cough and other prescriptive drugs abuse and report back to the Senate on the needed legislative interventions to combat the trend.
The senators stressed that secondary school students consumed cough syrups regularly.
The Upper Chamber also asked the Federal Government to partner with relevant stakeholders, states, local governments, traditional rulers, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, NGOs, to create a holistic framework to fight this category of drug abuse, especially in the North.

Resolutions

The Senate’s resolutions, entitled The Need to Check the Rising Menace of Pharmaceutical Drug Abuse Among Youths Especially in Northern Nigeria, were sequel to a motion by Senator Baba Garbai (APC, Borno Central), co-sponsored by 37 other senators.

The Senate also mandated the Ministry of Health to provide rehabilitation centres or clinics where victims of drug abuse would be rehabilitated where necessary, and urged the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to embark on a vigorous sensitisation campaign on the dangers of drug abuse and steps in achieving a successful rehabilitation for people with the addiction.
We ‘ll tackle it—Saraki
In his remarks, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who presided, said the Senate will take necessary actions to reduce the growing menace.

He also promised that the Senate will strengthen the NDLEA Act to make the bench become very effective.Saraki said: “I want to commend lawmakers for their contributions. This is becoming a big issue for the country. Yesterday, I had the chance of meeting with pharmaceutical practitioners. We need to amend the NDLEA Act to reflect the current realities.

“By this motion, we are giving hope to every parent in Nigeria that we are committed to tackling the problem of drug abuse in every part of the country, especially in the North.”

"I still don't understand why a policeman will dress like this and carrying riffles on the street. Federal government needs to do a reform on Nigerians police operatives.
If you are driving and see this man trying to stop you, wont you think he is either a kidnapper or an armed robber? It is well with my country
