Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has dismissed talk that his side could be relegated despite slipping to another surprise defeat against Bournemouth. Glenn Murray's winner for the Cherries leaves the Premier League champions sitting just three points above the relegation zone in 14th place after 15 games And Mourinho insists his side will climb out of trouble, though their chances of finishing in the top four are diminishing. "I am concerned, obviously. I was concerned before this game because I am not happy about our position. You can imagine now after this result at home," he told Sky Sports . "Obviously Chelsea will not be fighting for relegation – no chance. Chelsea will win matches and come out of that area. That’s not the point and not the problem. The problem is our objective is to finish top four. "Before this game I think this was fair to feel with our quality and getting three or four matches in a row, which we can do any time, can push us up to the kind of position I was expecting to be at the end of December. This defeat has not put us in a dangerous postion, but our objective is not to fight relegation. "Our objective is to fight for the top four, and maybe now we have to think about fighting for the top six." Asked about the clash, Mourinho was encouraged by an improvement after the interval and was unimpressed by the officiating once again. http://m.goal.com/s/en/news/1862/premier-league/2015/12/05/18042282/mourinho-chelsea-will-not-be-relegated?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=enfb |

A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode
George, yesterday said he never met
Col.Sambo Dasuki let alone take money from
him.
A statement yesterday by Prof. Tejumade
Akitoye – Rhodes, of Lagos Collectives on
behalf of Chief George, said it was wrong to
link him with collection of cash from the ex-
NSA’s office.
“For the record, Chief Bode George did not
collect a farthing from Dasuki or anybody
else whatsoever. He has never even set eyes
on the former NSA throughout his tenure in
office talk less of collecting money from him.
Dasuki of course is very much alive to
corroborate this position,” the statement
said. http://thenationonlineng.net/i-dont-know-dasuki-says-george/ |

Mr Eric Dakogol, the APC candidate, has won Saturday’s bye-election to fill Qua’an Pan North Constituency’s seat in the Plateau House of Assembly. NAN reports that Dakogol polled 5,409 votes to defeat PDP’s Alloy Oliver, who garnered 4,977 votes. INEC’s Returning Officer, Associate Prof. Akkarven Ashakah, who announced the result at the legislators chamber ín Qua’an Pan Local Government Secretariat, described the election as “very successful and credible”. Ashakah, who is the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Jos, congratulated the two candidates and their parties for conducting themselves peacefully during the bye-election. “Politics is a game of numbers and should be played maturely,” he said. With the victory, Dakogol will replace Godfrey Dashe, who died two months ago, as the representative of the constituency in the state House of Assembly. Reacting to the victory, the state Chairman of APC, Mr Letep Dabang, described Dakogol’s victory at the polls as “a victory for democracy considering the peaceful conduct of the election”. Prof. Anthonia Okoosi-Simbine, INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of the North Central zone; Dr Godwin Kwanga, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner; party officials; and other stakeholders were present during the announcement of the bye-election result. http://www.nigerianeye.com/2015/11/apcs-dakogol-wins-plateau-bye-election.html?m=1 |
Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue state, has confirmed the death of Alfred Akawe Torkula, chairman of the state traditional council and the paramount ruler of the Tiv kingdom. He said details of the burial plans would be announced later. Aged 71 years, Torkula died at a private hospital in Gboko, the traditional seat of his throne, on Monday, according to NAN. expected to pay before they are released on
bail .

section 181(1) of the 1999 Constitution provides: (a) If a person duly elected as Governor dies before taking and subscribing the Oath of Allegiance and oath of office, or is unable for any reason whatsoever to be sworn in, the person elected with him as Deputy governor shall be sworn in as Governor and he shall nominate a new Deputy-Governor who shall be appointed by the Governor with the approval of a simple majority of the House of Assembly of the State. (b) Where the persons duly elected as Governor and Deputy Governor of a State die or are for any reason unable to assume office before the inauguration of the house of Assembly, the Independent National Electoral Commission shall immediately conduct an election for a Governor and Deputy Governor of the State." In this scenario, Audu has not been duly elected as Governor because the election result in Kogi State was declared inconclusive by INEC. The Constitutional questions that need answers are: 1. Will INEC go on to conduct the remaining elections between Late Audu of APC and other political parties? 2. Will there be need for another primary election to select APC candidate or Audu's Deputy will carry on as APC candidate to conclude the election? 3. Since Audu has not been duly elected and is no longer a contestant by virtue of his death, will INEC pronounce Wada as the Governor being candidate with the second highest votes cast (runner-up) at the election? Many questions begging for answers. |
Twenty two days after the transition of the
late Emir of Borgu Kingdom HRH Sen. Dr
Haliru Dantoro, Kitoro 111, his son HRH
Mohammad S. Haliru Dantoro, has taken over
the stool.
The city of Borgu literally stood still as royal
fathers and dignitaries arrived early
yesterday to witness the traditional ceremony
beside the palace grounds.
Visibly pleased with the warm, joyous
reception given him by the cheering crowd,
the new Emir thanked President Muhammadu
Buhari and Niger Governor Abubakar Sani
Bello for their support after the transition of
his late father.
He appreciated the Etsu Nupe and Chairman
of the Niger State Council of Traditional
Rulers and national leader of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Ahmed
Tinubu (Jagaban Borgu) and other eminent
friends “for standing firmly with us during
our trying moments.”
The ceremony of entering the palace also
known as ‘the Kibokpen Rites’ represents the
formal entry into and the taking over of the
palace along with the presentation of the
royal staff of office to the new Emir.
Having chosen to select the royal staff of
Kitoro, the new Emir chose to be addressed
as ‘Kitoro 1V.’
He called on his people to join hands with
him and the government to maintain peace
in the country.
“Let us join hands in line with government
change policies to promote education,
cultural revival, industries, health care,
housing, mining, and tourism.
“Together, working side by side, putting our
differences aside, we shall achieve a lot for
our people and nation,” he said. http://thenationonlineng.net/new-emir-of-borgu-takes-over/ |
