After her death on October 13, 2026, at just 32, from a kidney infection that escalated to kidney failure, her words took on an entirely different weight—one that fans have described as “eerily prophetic” and a “quiet farewell she may not have fully intended to announce”.

Tenia Abraham was not merely a screen talent. She was a celebrated figure in Nigeria’s pageant circuit, widely recognised as the Queen Of South South 2020. Beyond that title, she remained deeply embedded in the peace pageant community, having also contested the Queen of Peace crown. Her dual identity—as an actress and a regional peace advocate—made her a recognisable and beloved face, particularly across the South-South.

The actress’s August post attracted little unusual attention when it was first shared. But after news of her passing broke, followers flooded back to it in large numbers, leaving thousands of comments and grief-stricken tributes. Many could not accept the news. “Hope it is not true someone should please say something please,” wrote one commenter. Another simply said: “This caption isn’t aging well. I truly wish I can get a reply rn”.

This morning, Saturday, October 17, 2026, Tenia Abraham Omenogor will be laid to rest in a burial ceremony attended by family, friends, and colleagues from the Nollywood industry.

She is remembered not only for her energetic screen performances but for the warmth behind her final message—a message that continues to echo far beyond the pageant stages and film sets she once graced.

ABUJA — A Nigerian lady based in Abuja, identified by her Instagram handle @iamsimplynneka, has sparked a heated online debate after she publicly rejected the popular saying that “what a man can do, a woman can do better.”

In a viral Instagram post, the Abuja-based influencer said she does not belong to that school of thought. According to her, men should continue doing what they are capable of doing, and should even help carry part of what women do.

“For those women saying: what a man can do, a woman can do it better... I’m not a part of that philosophy at all,” she said.

“In fact, what a man can do, a man should continue doing it. If the man can even take a part of what the woman can do, he should carry. I’m not a part of that philosophy.”

The post has divided opinions online. Some users praised her for advocating partnership rather than competition between men and women. Others, however, criticised her, arguing that her comments reinforce traditional gender roles and undermine women’s capabilities.

Felix Arome Assumes Office as FAN Director-General, Pledges Stronger Structure Ahead of 2027

Architect Felix Arome has assumed office as the Director-General of the Frontline Alliance Network (FAN), a political support group with structures and membership across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, ABUJAPRESS reports.

Arome, who previously served as National Secretary of the Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria Group, took over the leadership of FAN during a handover ceremony in Abuja, attended by members and stakeholders of the organisation.

The Frontline Alliance Network had earlier endorsed the presidential ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking after assuming office, Arome thanked the founders of FAN for the confidence reposed in him, describing his appointment as both a responsibility and a call to strengthen the organisation’s existing structures.

He assured members across the country that his administration would support and strengthen the various FAN structures to make the group more formidable and better positioned ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, the focus would be on building a stronger grassroots presence and ensuring that the organisation’s structures are firmly established at the local government level.

Arome also pledged to work with political groups, individuals and organisations that share the aspiration of supporting President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

He urged members to intensify efforts to consolidate their political structures at the grassroots, stressing that capacity and the ability to deliver would be the major considerations in assigning responsibilities within the organisation.

The new Director-General said positions and responsibilities would not be distributed based on sentiments, but on demonstrated commitment, competence and capacity to deliver results.

Arome further assured members that he would remain loyal to those who had worked to build FAN, promising that their efforts and sacrifices would not be forgotten.

He called on members to remain committed to the organisation’s objectives, saying that a united and well-structured grassroots movement would be critical to achieving the group’s political goals ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Promise Land Innovation Limited, owners of the WEALTH App, has terminated its brand ambassadorial agreement with actress Tonto Charity Dikeh with immediate effect, ABUJAPRESS reports.

The company announced the termination in a statement signed by its Executive Director, Mrs. Gift Emmanuel, and dated September 15, 2026.

According to the company, the decision followed a review of Dike’s performance under the agreement, which it said showed that her contractual obligations and promotional objectives had not been satisfactorily fulfilled.

It further disclosed that Tonto Dikeh failed to attend a performance review meeting scheduled for September 7, which was intended to provide an opportunity to address outstanding obligations and discuss way forward.

“Consequently, the company has exercised its contractual right to bring the Brand Ambassadorship Agreement to an end with immediate effect,” the statement said.

The company said Dikeh had been formally notified of the decision and wished her well in her future endeavours.

Despite the termination, Promise Land Innovation Limited said the development would not affect its commitment to providing innovative solutions for real estate investment management through the WEALTH App.

It also thanked its subscribers, customers, partners and the general public for their continued support and confidence in the platform, stressing that it remained committed to delivering solutions aimed at creating lasting value for its users.

Popular Nigerian craftsman and entrepreneur, Moses Amiebenomo, popularly known as the “Celebrity Carpenter,” has issued a public notice to individuals and online platforms he accuses of publishing, republishing or amplifying what he describes as false and defamatory narratives about him.

In the notice, Celebrity Carpenter said he had, alongside his legal team, resolved to take appropriate legal action against bloggers, influencers, commentators and other third parties responsible for allegedly defamatory publications concerning him within the past one year.

He issued a notice to those involved in the allegation to remove publications, videos, commentaries, posts or other materials containing what he considers defamatory allegations.

According to the notice, the decision followed the circulation of allegations and narratives concerning him, which he said had been amplified by third parties without adequate verification or lawful justification.

“As a man, when allegations, defamatory statements, or false narratives are circulated against you by the mother of your children, there are limits to how you may respond, both legally and morally because of the children involved,” he stated.

He, however, warned that such considerations, in his view, did not extend to third parties who publish, republish, endorse or promote statements he sees as false and defamatory.

The notice further warned that the use of expressions such as “allegedly,” “reportedly” or “according to sources” would not, by itself, shield anyone who knowingly or recklessly publishes what is ultimately established to be false and defamatory.

He said that upon expiration of the seven-day period, his legal team would proceed with remedies available under applicable law, including possible defamation claims and other civil or criminal remedies where legally applicable.

He stressed that the notice was issued without prejudice to his rights and remedies concerning existing and future publications.

The Federal Government and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, have backed the call by the Founder of VickyHeldan Empowerment Foundation, Dr. Victory Njoku, for increased investment in women’s health, empowerment and leadership across Africa.

The endorsement was made at the maiden edition of the Her Health, Her Power Conference Africa 2026, organised by the foundation in Abuja with the theme, “Leading with Wellness for a Sustainable Africa.”

Speaking through the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women’s Development, Dr. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, said investment in women’s health was critical to achieving Nigeria’s economic aspirations.

“If we are serious about a $1 trillion Nigerian economy, then investing in women's health is not optional. It is foundational,” the minister said.

She explained that the Federal Government was strengthening policies and institutional structures aimed at promoting women’s economic empowerment, gender equality, family development and protection.

The minister also called for stronger collaboration among government, the private sector, civil society organisations, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders, while commending Njoku for creating a platform capable of generating meaningful commitments to women’s health and empowerment.

She urged participants and stakeholders to move beyond conversations and translate the ideas generated at the conference into measurable action and tangible results.

Amaechi, in his remarks, said women’s health must be viewed as an integral part of economic development. He urged politicians and policymakers to pay greater attention to the welfare of women and improve access to healthcare and education.

“Now, it is key not to separate women's health from economic growth,” Amaechi said, stressing that people appointed to positions of responsibility should understand the connection between economic growth and the wellbeing of women.

Reflecting on his tenure as Rivers State governor, Amaechi said his administration established health centres in every village, with each centre provided with a medical doctor and two nurses. He added that his administration also paid N10,000 to women who attended antenatal care.

He stressed that political decisions have a direct impact on women and called on leaders to transform communities by providing hospitals, health centres and other facilities capable of improving the quality of life of women and families.

The convener and founder of VickyHeldan Empowerment Foundation, Dr. Victory Njoku, said the initiative was established to advance women’s health across Africa by bringing together women, innovators, healthcare practitioners and advocates.

Njoku explained that the foundation would take the conversation beyond the conference room through community-based outreach programmes focusing on maternal health, reproductive healthcare, mental wellness, education and leadership.

“This is just creating a conversation, but taking action, we're going to propel into communities through our outreach programs, focused on maternal health, reproductive care, mental wellness, education and leadership,” she said.

She expressed the hope that the initiative would grow beyond Nigeria and become a broader African platform, while encouraging women to take their rightful place in conversations and decisions concerning their development, health and wellbeing.

The conference featured four major panel sessions covering maternal healthcare, leadership and innovation, reproductive health, and health and wellness.
