Before pulling the drain plug under your pocket, have you checked your valvetrain?
It could be that your timing chain is slack & slapping against the engine block. Perhaps the tensioner is damaged or the chain has stretched.
Also check valves & springs.

Ha ha but but but but I am ADULT in my formative years, yet I am absolutely convinced that I saw Santa Klaus among other customers when I visited my local skunk dealer to re-up for the week with some quality bud.

Hey, the guy LOOKED like Old Saint Nick, SPOKE like him, and even LAUGHED like him, therefore as far as I am concerned, not only does Santa Klaus exist, but he also happens to be blessed with very discerning taste in weed, as I am, after my many years of intent study and experience.
It seems your patron saint of iron & thunder approves.

Car TalkRe: Drivers Beware! Horses On Lekki Epe Expressway by DaimlerBen(m):
Readonee35L:
Instead of facing the matter of the horses on the road causing issues. You're talking about good lights.
You people will always find a problem in people's solution.
The horses are not meant to be on the high way. It's not a barn or a yard.

It's just like a rape case. And you're blaming the woman(the victim)for putting on sexy cloths.
angry
The report should be made at LGA Headquarters or other relevant authorities, not here.
Like someone said, the horses have always been there. I'm only trying to make his driving safer, where did I blame him?
I went out last night and on a portion of the road that was poorly lit...
...and, just like the case you mentioned, one has to ensure one doesn't put oneself in a compromising situation to be absolved of all blame.
Car TalkRe: Drivers Beware! Horses On Lekki Epe Expressway by DaimlerBen(m): 12:26pm On Oct 20, 2017
EnigmaticEnigma:
There is a dangerous issue of horses crossing the road at night on lekki Epe.

I actually crashed my car once as I tried to avoid a horse crossing the road and ended up hydroplaning, with my car spinning and spinning till I landed in the bush.

I have reported to the police a couple times to do something about those horses, but nothing has been done.

I went out last night and on a portion of the road that was poorly lit, all of a sudden, I spotted another horse crossing the road from right to left. So many cars almost crashed at the same time as we were all swerving to avoid the horse.

Authorities must do something about this. A horses body is brown and blends really well with the darkness. So sometimes, a driver at night can't spot these horses until the car is already so close to it and the driver can then make out the horses brown skin.

Something must be done to save lives, as a head on collision with a large horse is not something anyone would wish for.
Slow down at night & get good lights. If you can't see a horse, what then is the colour of a pothole?

The road to my place is rough. Very rough.

I need a car that is rear axle/wheel driven and relatively recent model.
Kindly drop your recommendations and why I should get it.
Thanks.

Car TalkMercedes-AMG's F1 Engine Exceeds 50% Efficiency! by DaimlerBen(op):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGDJqTDXgtg

Ever since the FIA began tightening their grip on engine displacement & cylinder count, F1 engines have progressively shrunk, from V12s & V10s of the 90s to V8s, down to the present 1.6-litre V6s.

Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (formerly Mercedes-Ilmor), in their testing facilities in Brixworth, Northamptonshire UK, have managed to eke out over 50% thermal efficiency from their F1 engine - more useful work than waste heat.

The engine is just part of a whole - the Power Unit - comprising:
*Combustion engine
*Turbocharger
*Energy Recovery System (ERS)
- Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic (MGU-K), formerly KERS;
- Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H);
- Energy store (battery);
*Control electronics.
https://d2uun8zchmtdji.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/12055951/Project-one-2.jpg

To put the AMG F1 engine's efficiency into perspective, on average:
Petrol passenger car ~ 20%
F1 V10 ~ 30%
Turbodiesel engine ~ 40+%
Gas turbine ~ 60+%

It is expected that this powertrain will make it into a production car - the AMG Project One.

CrimeRe: The Pastor Who Used Human Bodies for church foundation - (very Graphic) by DaimlerBen(m): 2:08am On Oct 18, 2017
Jakumo:
Structural engineers in the house, please enlighten laymen like me on this subject of using human cadavers as building materials.

First of all Nairaland's armchair architects would greatly appreciate any facts and figures detailing the tensile strength of human bones, when used as a substitute for iron rods during the construction of buildings, along with a comparative cost analysis of these two alternate building materials.

Secondly, we would be grateful to hear the learned opinion of any forensic pathologists who grace the Nairaland forum, regarding the question of how long it takes for a fresh human cadaver to decay down to its skeletal components, when enclosed in solid concrete in the context of inclusion as part of a building foundation.

Urgently too, we make this clarion to all legal luminaries who peruse the Nairaland forum, seeking their learned opinions on the subject of using human cadavers as building materials to cut costs and protect the environment, particularly with respect to the NUMBER of corpses that will be contractually mandated as reinforcing material, per square meter of poured concrete in both residential and commercial buildings.

Finally, now that Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission in the capital city Abuja has formally recognized Skull Mining as a legitimate, NATIONALLY syndicated and sustainable enterprise, readers of this forum will no doubt be grateful for any information that can be shared regarding sources of raw material for aspiring Skull Miners nationwide, who may be also considering the idea of diversifying into the building materials business as a side venture.

Thank you in advance and God Bless Nigeria.

Nice fancy idea. But I have overshot my budget in time, and money. So no more mods here. Many of these mods people see online can only be achieved by highly skilled technicians like few of the ones on nairaland here. The regular Nigerian mechanic is likely to botch your job you will regret ever starting at all. Some jobs even require you to cut and weld chasis, or enter ECU swap territory, you don't even want to go there at all.

2 ways I know of actually. You can replace the springs with shorter ones, or you can reduce the thickness of the absorber pads. I did the latter. There was no appreciable increase in ride bumpiness.
I thought it was some coilovers, because using springs from a smaller lighter vehicle would ruin the ride & springs, and cutting them short is a bad idea.

Car TalkKoenigsegg Crushes Bugatti Chiron's Acceleration Record! (Updated) by DaimlerBen(op):
That record didn't last very long!

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/S_3R-THET3I/maxresdefault.jpg

Bugatti's latest hypercar, the [1500hp] Chiron, accelerated from 0 to 400 kph (249 mph) and braked back down to a stop in 41.96 seconds, which is pretty insane on its own. But a small automaker from Sweden just stepped in and walked all over Volkswagen's fanciest car.

The [1160hp] Koenigsegg Agera RS did the 0-400-0 [kph] sprint in just 36.44 seconds, taking 5.5 fewer seconds to accomplish this feat than Bugatti needed. Not only was the Agera RS faster across the whole thing, it also hit 400 kph in less time than the Bugatti -- 26.88 seconds versus 32.6 seconds.

The Agera RS is a beast, especially with its optional engine upgrade, which brings power up to a meaty 1,341 horsepower. It also packs the company's optional roll cage. The run was done at Vandel Airfield in Denmark using both GPS and a data logger.

Koenigsegg didn't undertake this run for its own boasting rights. As it turns out, the run came at the request of this car's owner, who wanted to benchmark it against other hypercars. If only every automaker offered such a perk.

...Any student who needs mobility in university should be looking at Bajaj, boxer, lagata and Co or better still BMX
For those scared of bikes, it's because Nigerians don't wear the proper gear.
Besides, it's a university environment, how fast would you possibly go?
The only cons of bikes are riding in the rain (for which there are raincoats, duh) and riding under the influence of anything - including action movies.
Pros:
*Huge mileage per tank
*Far less maintenance
*Easy DIY (except you go & buy one with fuel injection)
*Overabundance of dirt-cheap parts (except, as above)
*No unnecessary attention/distractions (except, also as above)
*Portability (you could keep it in your room) grin
*Ease of modification - if you choose to go that route
*Good power-to-weight ratio for when you decide to be all daredevilly
...etcetera.
