Don't try that , otherwise your money will hook. It is called block account and not normal saving account. For you to have access to the money, the 8790 must be completed. Shalom

Many thanks sir. Noted!

Hello guys, please I'll need your advice again o. I have a sponsor and all, however, I want to open a blocked account and put some money in it - just in case and it's obviously necessary. So is it possible to open one and make a deposit of an amount that is less than the stated amount 8640€ with fintiba?

PS: I have gone through their website and couldn't find a means to reach them, no email address or phone number. And if its possible, can u tell me how to do it? Just a summary pls.

Thanks guys.. You have all been vry helpful. Great platform!

Hello NL,

I just received my admission letter to study at the University of Freiburg Germany.
I have a few questions, please.
How can I open a German blocked account?
What is the minimum amount that will be needed to fund this account for the acquisition of a German student visa?
when I arrive Germany, can I send some part of the money back home to refund my contributors?

Please, your answers will be very helpful.

Congrats..
1. Hope you are aware of the tuition fee for Freiburg (1500 Euros )?
2. Blocked account opening is done at the German Embassy or through Fintiba ( I don't know much about it yet)
3. 8000Euros, maybe a little bit more
4. No you won't be able to refund them. At least not immediately, cos you have a limit to the amount you can withdraw a month ( 720Euros I think )

Damn!!
You said there was no enrollment deadline in the email or admission letter so they might have done guess work and given you 31st August. Also your school enrolment you are interested in is september abi nah 4th Oct.
Between your visa interview & enrollment date is barely 4weeks.... 2ndly I hear visa takes between 4-6weeks
Hmmm. There's something going on in my mind but maybe I'm just over thinking it...don't mind me
Congrats and Goodluck!!!

Bro, I weak.
Yes, no enrollment date, but from the mail I sent I told them the date.
Yes, the school I prefer is in Sept, although the admission is not yet out.
Yes, It takes 4-6weeks, I had to write them another mail concerning that. Why will they book me for 31st Aug when I said my enrollment will start on the 5th of Oct. The gap is too small.
Thanks..

Haba ur CGPA pass the stipulated gradings nii? Anyways, Congratulations ni 10 times.
In respect to booking appointment / mailing the embassy, what I want to figure out is your enrolment date on ur admission letter plays a significant role so the responsibility for picking a date lies in the hands of the embassy and not you. If the enrolment date is still months ahead, while not chill until that ur best school sends their notification (I'm sure it's a positive one) chillas well whilst u re the one commanding the paroles now. U get luck oooo.
Salam

Thanks! but too late already.
The mail I sent yesterday by 5pm was received and I just got a reply from the embassy.. 31st of Aug, Damn!!

Abeg, biko, please, I need answer urgently..

I have been admitted into 4 schools and currently waiting for the last (My most favourite) and I have also gotten the sponsorship document "Verpflichtungserklärung". So what i intend doing and as I was instructed by my sponsor is too proceed with my Visa application using one of the admissions I have and cos the earlier the better, and then I can switch over to the school I want, since the admission list is not yet out. Cool I guess..

My concern now is, the school I want to use has enrollment date for 5th of Oct while that for the Uni I will love to attend is in Sept. If I proceed and book using that school, hope it won't affect my appointment date? cos somebody was booked for 10th of Aug, maybe cos his enrollment is by the end of sept.

Also, is it a must to write the enrollment date when sending the mail to the embassy?? the enrollment date is not in my admission letter so I feel I can deceive them a bit so I get booked for June..

Your advice is urgently needed, Thanks fam.

Please, somebody should answer me. I sent a mail and attached the usual docs to student@lago.diplo.de yesterday, for an appointment for Visa interview, around 5pm, and up till now I haven't gotten a reply from the embassy.. Eh, should I be scared or is it that I sent the mail quite late, 5pm ?

@ Honourableseyi and other gurus in the house, I finally secured August 10th for my interview with the German embassy.

My questions:

Please what do I need to take along with me on that day, as it was not stated on the mail sent to me.

Will I be asked to write a motivation letter?

How much is the visa fee?

Good morn sir,

Please did you do something else apart from sending a mail to the address (student@lago.diplo.de) ?
And why is your date so far?

Visa fee = 60€ ( around 18k )
Yes, you need to write a motivational letter.

Check Nigeria.diplo.de for the documents, I'll advice that you carry along docs that you think will improve your chances of getting the Visa even if they're not stated.

It has been officially decided... Maybe your admission arrived before the decision. After all its already end of the month.

Okay, I guess my admission was before the decision. It's well.

U can ask for attestation letter from Admin block. The procedure is very easy, just a formal letter asking for that. It takes less than 30mins to get. But i still know of someone who went for the interview with the statement of result graduated 2014 too from Unizik.
I hope this helps

Thanks!

Was the person successful? Or rather, was it accepted ?

Congrats first of all!!! grin so finally this re-introduction of school fees is real, and have commenced. shocked What school is that, and is it msc or bsc?.
then to answer your question, yes you can use the current admission letter to fire down, in fact it is advisable to begin with it, especially the blocked account opening.
then pray that other admission letters come too before your interview date, or else you would also be forced to still use that particular admission letter for the interview. however, if others still come after the interview, when you get to germany, the state where this school is, you can later switch to any other preferable school you get along the line. i know so many distant peeps and even close paddies who did that, even last winter, so no need to fear.

About the reintroduction of sch fees, it's just for a particular state/region, the Baden Württemberg. And also, its not yet finalised. I got an admission into Stuttgart, and they said that by the end of this month or before the mid of next, they will let me know on their decision as regards the fees. So I am hopeful

For our seniors and anybody with good knowledge in the subject matter, please I will really appreciate if you can rank theses cities for me in order of preference.

Dortmund, Stuttgart, Bonn, and Bochum.

By preference, I mean life outside the University and the ease of getting a job.

Thanks!

Oga please go to beginning of the tread and read up. You will be amazed that all u seek has been treated! Try it it helps! biko

I av done that, not every single page though. But it wouldn't be bad if you had answered me before requesting that I go back and read. Thanks all the same.

I am really sorry if the question sounds offensive, but the truth is that, not every body can go through every single page on this thread for some obvious reasons. I have been following up with this thread for sometime now even before I took my IELTS, and it's been helpful I must say. However, I have not been able to read every single page. I know the Visa takes between 6-8 weeks, but on this same thread I read that somebody got a reply from the embassy in 5 days (don't know how true), and that's my confusion (if it's possible). And eh, about the birth cert, I am sorry, but I didn't see anything pertaining to that in any of the pages I read.

How long does it take to get a response from the embassy after the interview ? Also, I heard that NPC cert is only accepted if the applicant is born after 13th Dec, 1992. How true is this ?
And what is the best alternative ?
Thanks !
