Look, if certain unscrupulous elements in uniform can be ordered by the ruling class to shoot unarmed civilians on Nigerian soil, then there's no questioning the origin and the funding of Boko Haram.

But the problem up North, is that there's a false truth spreading in the region. If only the civilians know who their real enemies are. If only they know that the reason they're bitten by snakes in their own houses is because some set of people reared these snakes and, accidentally, or deliberately let them loose.

While this is very commendable on the part of the LASG, it does not exonerate them from providing justice for all those who lost their lives during the ENDSARS protests.

Lagosians should not be disarmed by these acts of generosity. Keep up the demand for the damaged families, the snuffed out potentials, the national trauma and distrust, the palpable and perpetual fear in the hearts of Nigerian youths.

Yes, we acknowledge the LASG, but if she hadn't set fire to the bushes during the harmattan she wouldn't have to worry about putting it out.

Quite a shame. Upon scrutiny you may just come to discover that he ate those snacks unbeknownst of the deadly content contained therein.

Party organizers, adept and renowned for mixing mind-altering cocktails and concoctions should desist from acts like these.

Many have obliviously eaten 'cooked beans' only to find themselves sleeping for days.

The deed is done. The hatred clouding the limbic system is dissipated. And now, in retrospect, you're wondering what demon possesed you to put out the light and snuff out the potential of a three-year old.

If only that look on your face reflected the
moroseness of your heart. Sadly, I'm not taken by it, and I don't think the judge would be either.

Nice play LASG. Drawing out the court proceedings through clever pussyfooting and deliberat obfuscating of evidences.

If you're one of those thinking that a panel set up by the state government would come up with a verdict of indictment, perish that thought!

The panel is a hoax, cleverly put together to keep the people's anger at bay until it fizzles out like gas from an agitated soda bottle.

No snake turns around to bite it's own tail. Tubers of yams seeking justice in the courts of goats can only expect one thing: to be eaten wholly and unrepentantly.

Career / The Abc's Of Public Speaking by Damdeyz(m): 2:06am On Apr 13, 2020
The ABC’s of Public Speaking

The audience is clapping. As you climb the stairs, you place your leg, firmly, slowly, one step at a time, because you feel at any moment, you would slip and fall. Somehow, you miraculously make it through the steps and now you are walking across, to the center of the stage, where you are to deliver your speech.

They are seated now, the audience, waiting quietly for you to begin, but you, your mind; its hyperactive and racing, the thumping in your chest is so loud you know the person at the far end exit could hear you.

You stop at the center of the stage, but your legs don’t, they tremble, making you press the balls of your feet hard against the elevated stage. They stop to quake for a bit, as if hearing your plight as you force them into a tense stationary strain.

But, the beads of sweat on your temple have collected now, and begin to dribble down your face in pools. You dab at them furiously, the audience’s gaze riveted on you. Best not to keep them waiting now.

You try to speak, but you can’t seem to remember your rehearsed speech; it’s all blank. As you try frantically to recollect, your legs notice the pickle you are in, they break free of the strain you imposed, and begin to shake ever so fiercely, like the wings of a buzzing bee.

The audience now is part frowning, part sympathetic. You try to blurt out something, anything, but it comes out in short, incoherent quaking bursts. Your heart is palpitating, your legs trembling, your voice breaking.

You rattle off what little your foggy, empty brain could muster and dash off the stage amidst sneers and boos from the audience, swearing never to broach the topic of public speaking or touch a microphone on a stage with a ten-foot pole, ever.

Does this sound like you? Have you ever had such horrific and humiliating experience? Standing, frozen, like a deer in headlights, in front of an audience? Well, I have and I can tell you, it was sickening, to say the least.

However, since then, my speaking game has improved tremendously, and I have gone on to speak before thousands .

This article, is the first in a series that is bent, on not only helping you dispel stage fright, but in showing you the intricate skills of preparing a killer presentation, holding your audience’s attention and have them glued to their seats until the end of your presentation.

So, relax, as I take you on a journey of Public speaking Mastery.

Religion / Wrong And Sinful Ways Of Praying To God. Part 4. 4mins Read by Damdeyz(m): 7:20am On Jul 14, 2019
WRONG AND SINFUL WAYS OF PRAYING TO GOD: VIOLENT PRAYERS PART 4. 4 mins read.

In last week's article, we talked about how Christians pray violently during a vigil at the expense of their neighbours' peace and quiet. Matthew chapter 6:5-6 was quoted showing how praying violently flies in the face of everything Jesus taught about prayer.

This article will continue from its predecessor as part of an ongoing series of write-ups with the aim of depicting what the Bible truly says about the appropriate mode of prayer.

Still on violent prayer, let's look at an example from the scriptures.

I Kings 18:22-29
Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

Here, we see Elijah putting up a challenge with the prophets of Baal: whose GOD (god) was to answer when called upon. This was a prayer to a deity. However, notice the different approach these two groups used while praying. Please, read further.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded

The peculiarity in which the the prophets of Baal prayed is unmistakable; they prayed violently. They first shouted, then they leaped upon the altar, then they cut themselves with knives, and blood trickled out. They prayed violently, they prayed in a frenzied manner that is quite similar to the way Christians pray today!

After careful study, it has been observed that Christians pray violently in an attempt to become physically spent and exhausted, having the false notion that the amount of energy dissipated in prayer is proportionate to the speed, and the power at which GOD answers.

Contrastingly, let's see how Elijah prayed to GOD.

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.
37 people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

As proven in the texts above, Elijah called on GOD once, and in an instant the fire fell from heaven. He did not resort to a violent mode of praying.

Prayer may not be answered instantly in all situations, but praying violently will not make it happen either. In fact, its scripturally wrong, and in addition, there's no scriptural example for this sort of contradicting pattern of prayer in the entire Scriptures. So why continue to follow this erroneous mode of prayer after seeing this glaring example from the Scriptures?

Next week, we shall see what the Bible says in Matthew 11:12 about "the kingdom of Heaven suffereth violence and the violent taketh it force," as a justifications for praying violently. Till then, have a lovely week.
GOD Bless you. To be continued...

Trizyd:
Here an account in Hebrews 5 showing at some point Jesus was "violent" with his prayer Emphasis Hebrew 5:7

Hebrews 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
5:6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Meaning Jesus prayed with forcible outcry, don't mislead people to feel that praying violently isn't Biblical, we can pray with softly. Your account in Matthew was Jesus admonishing us not to be hypocritical in prayer, proving we are the most righteous.

Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Trizyd From the comment you made above I can deduce three points that demonstrate your objection to the article. I will enumerate these three points and then attempt to address them. Most of the answers would have been made known in subsequent articles however, since you've asked questions that prompt me to provide answers, I will do so nonetheless.

1) Hebrew 5:4 supports the notion that Jesus prayed violent prayers
2) You quoted Matthew 11:12 about the Kingdom suffering violence, meaning violent prayers
3) You say that Matthew 6:5-6 talks about hypocritical prayers not violent prayers
.

I know attempt to answer your questions.

1) Hebrews 5
Talks about the mortal nature of Jesus Christ, how He could suffer affliction peculiar to man and how He prayed also. Verse 7 says he CRIED and SHOUTED when he prayed. I'd have you know that this only happened on the cross and not while he prayed at other times before his crucifixion. Let's look at some verses.

Matthew 26:39
Going on a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, “O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not what I want but what you want.”

Mark 14:35
on a little farther, he fell to the ground and kept praying that if it were possible the hour might pass from him.

Luke 22:44
In his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like large drops of blood falling on the ground.
In all these verses quoted, you cannot see an example of Christ praying violently, although Luke 22:44 says His sweat were like drops of blood, it didn't say He prayed violently. But here He sweated so much because he was in anguish and burdened greatly, not because he was praying violently. These verses didn't say he shed tears or he cried out loud.

So where did Jesus cry out loud and shed tears according to the Hebrew writer? He did this on the cross. Let's see

Matthew 27:46
About three o’clock, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, eli, lema sabachthani?”, which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Verse 50
Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice again and died.

So you see that the book of Hebrews is talking about the pains He faced on the cross that caused Him to shed tears and to cry out loud. Psalm 22:1 says He groaned. Jesus cried out loud due to pains he felt. Just the way Stephen cried out in Acts 7:50 before death.
Hebrews chapter 5:6 is in no way supporting violent prayers. It is in no way pointing out that Jesus Christ shouted or prayed violently during His ministry or during times of prayer before His crucifixion. Hebrew 5:6 solely and only talks about His 'cry' on the cross, not elsewhere.

Permit me to stop here for today. Tomorrow I shall address your second question: the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence. Thank you for your time and attention.

malvisguy212:
the Greek word for fervent is 'energeo ' which is energy in our English word, is like an electric current that bring energy to a circuit . it mean a persistent , heartfelt, passionate , bold aproach to God, Example is in Matthew 15:22:

Matthew 15:22, "And, behold, a woman of
Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried
unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord,
thou Son of David; my
daughter is grievously vexed with a devil."

this is a gentile woman, who comes for help, and what did Jesus do ? Jesus ignore her.

Matthew 15:23-26, "But he answered her not a
word. And his disciples came and besought him,
saying, SEND HER AWAY; FOR SHE CRIETH
AFTER US. But he answered and said, I am not
sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Then came she and worshipped him, saying,
Lord, HELP ME. But he answered and said, It is
not meet to take the children's bread, and to
cast it to dogs."

he ignored her, and secondly He insult her, “This is not for you, you dog! This is for the children. You Gentiles are not in that category of God's children.BUT SHE KEEP ON PRESSING ON:

Matthew 15:27, "And she said, Truth, Lord: yet
the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their
masters' table."

This woman continued to persist in the argument. And what happened?

Matthew 15:28, "Then Jesus answered and said
unto her, O woman, GREAT IS THY FAITH : be it
unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter
was made whole from that very hour."

What's he talking about? He's talking about her
boldness, her persistence, her drive, her energy,
her willingness to hang in there and not give up on her daughter's sake.
