SportsMore Players Will Leave Chelsea On Loan by damickey(op): 10:37am On Aug 11, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/maurizio-sarri-1.jpg

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri expects to trim his squad before the close of the European transfer market as well as the English football loan market.

The Club can no longer sign players after the close of the summer transfer window in England but can let some players leave.

The likes of Michy Batshuayi and Kurt Zouma have already left Chelsea to Valencia and Everton respectively on loan deals.

Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater, amongst others could also be set to leave the club. Meanhwhile, AC Milan have expressed strong interest in Tiemoue Bakayoko for a loan deal.

A good number of Chelsea’s youngsters are also being tracked by foreign clubs and are likely to be sent out elsewhere to garner first-team football experience.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday ahead of Chelsea’s 2018/19 Premier League opener against Huddersfield Town, Sarri said:

“I think The squad is too large. Some players have to go on loan but I don’t know know who at the moment.

“I prefer to have 23 or 24 players and three of four young players and no more.”

SportsKepa – Spanish Players Convinced Me To Join by damickey(op): 11:33am On Aug 10, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/kepa-arrizabalaga.jpg

Chelsea’s current record signing and new goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has revealed that the Spanish contingent at the club convinced him to join.

The 23-year-old has also expressed hops that his Spanish teammates will help him ease to life in the Premier League.

The Spaniard arrived at Stamford Bridge in a world record fee for a goalkeeper at 80 million from Spanish Basque outfit Athletic Bilbao as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.

“I know some players in the current team from the Spanish national side. All of them have told me what it’s like to play here and I have had excellent references from them about the game here,” Arrizabalaga said.

He has five compatriots in Cesar Azpilicueta, Alvaro Morata, Pedro, Cesc Fabregas, and Marcos Alonso.

“They’re all happy, comfortable at the club and encouraged me to make the move and have an international experience, and it’s something I felt like doing,” Arrizabalaga added.

Kepa might make his competitive debut for Chelsea in the Premier League when they face Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

SportsGullit – Chelsea Must Prove That They Can Keep Hazard by damickey(op): 9:59am On Aug 10, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/hazard-challenges-chelsea-to-sign-players.png

Ruud Gullit has asked Chelsea to show that they are capable of keeping Eden Hazard on the pitch.

He stated that the Blues will have to demonstrate that they are capable of challenging at the highest stage or risk losing Eden Hazard.

Hazard’s future at Chelsea seems to be uncertain as he was constantly linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer after they missed out on the UCL last season.

The Chelsea playmaker has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and some comments he made recently suggest that he was ready to leave Chelsea for the Bernabeu this summer.

However, Hazard is set to remain at the club for the 2018/19 season under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

He currently has two years left on his current contract and they might be forced to sell him next summer rather than lose him for free in 2020 if he fails to commit to a new contract

Gullit said in a chat with BBC Sport:

“Players want to win trophies – you know your career is short.

“Hazard came to Chelsea to win things, not just to play well and earn a lot of money, and he still wants to win trophies – major ones – now.

“Chelsea have to create that opportunity for him – if they can’t, then you cannot blame him if he does want to leave. Can they do it this season? It is too early to tell.”

SportsFrosinone Want Ola Aina On Loan by damickey(op): 9:10am On Aug 10, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/ola-aina.png

Chelsea youngster Ola Aina is attracting concrete interest from Serie A side Frosinone who are keen to land him on loan for the 2018/19 football season.

The newly-promoted side are in the market for potential reinforcements to their squad and the Nigeria international appears to fit the bill.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Frosinone want Ola Aina on a season-long loan, and the player is believed to be interested in testing himself outside England.

However, he has not been given the approval to join the Italian club yet. Torino are also reportedly interested in the fullback.

Aina made 45 appearances last season for Hull in the Championship but appears to have fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea.

A loan move appears very likely for the Nigeria international if he’s to garner valuable playing time this season. PSV are also targetting Aina.

SportsOfficial! Kovacic Joins Chelsea On Loan by damickey(op): 4:53pm On Aug 09, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/mateo-kovacic.png

Mateo Kovacic has officially joined Chelsea from Real Madrid on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old Croatia international joins the Blues having garnered experience from playing in the Serie A and the La Liga.

Kovacic played his part for Croatia in the Russia 2018 World Cup as he played five games in the course of the competition.

The midfielder was keen to get more playing time and demanded an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. He has finally gotten his wish with the loan move to Chelsea.

Upon his arrival, Kovacic said: ‘I am really happy and excited to be here at Chelsea. It is an amazing feeling. I will try to do my best for this club. It is a new league for me, the beginning is always tough but I am sure the coach and my new team-mates will help me and I am looking forward to a great season.’

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘We are very happy to welcome Mateo to the Chelsea family. He is a perfect fit for us this season, his style is well suited to how Maurizio wants to play and we are sure he will prove to be a valuable asset for the club.’

The 24-year-old Croatian midfielder thrives in the central midfield position with his brilliant ball-playing abilities. He’s also versatile and can adapt in other midfield positions.

Kovacic becomes the latest addition to Chelsea’s midfield which could be a preferred trio of Jorginho-Kante-Kovacic under Maurizio Sarri.

SportsThree Talking Points From Chelsea’s Preseason by damickey(op): 12:20pm On Aug 09, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/chelsea-preseason.jpg

The 2018/19 football season is almost here as the Premier League returns and Chelsea has a new sheriff in town in the person of Maurizio Sarri.

The new manager has started implementing his style of play in the team going by the Blues’ performances in pre-season. However, it’s not yet Uhuru as there is still more to be done.

Sarriball has been relatively eye-catching thus far going by Chelsea’s previous style of play. However, we’ve taken note of some apparent frailties in the team.

We’ve listed these talking points and they were derived from the games that were played by the Blues in pre-season.

1. CHELSEA STRUGGLED FOR GOALS IN PRE-SEASON
Chelsea appear to have picked up possession football quickly under Sarri in pre-season but have failed to make the opposition’s net to bulge as expected.

The Blues played 5 games in pre-season but scored just 3 goals in the course of those games. They never scored more than one goal in a game.

This is obviously one area that Sarri will be working to ensure that his side improves on ahead of the Premier League opener against Huddersfield. Hopefully, they get firing from day 1.

2. MORE QUALITY BODIES SHOULD BE ADDED IN MIDFIELD
The last game against Lyon in which Sarri fielded a second string side showed that Chelsea still lacks quality depth in midfield.

Chelsea’s midfield performance on the day was average at best as only a few players who deputized in midfield were impressive on the night.

Therefore, the possible addition of Mateo Kovacic who is arriving from Madrid on a loan deal is a welcome development.

Any further additions will help the Blues when they come up against decent opposition.

3. CHELSEA WERE TOO EXPOSED TO COUNTER-ATTACKS
The Blues always appeared in sixes and sevens whenever they lost the ball due to their high pressing.

The game against Man City was an eye-opener. The last game against Lyon, although with a second-string side saw the Ligue 1 outfit create a host of chances but failed to put them away.

The full-backs were too exposed in these games and their pace might be a cause for concern ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Hopefully, Sarri and his men get these issues sorted out quickly, as the manager has hinted that Chelsea might need 2 to 3 months to perfect the system.

The next stop is away from home to Huddersfield Town in the Premier League. Hopefully, the Blues get off to a winning start and we get to keep the blue flag flying high; KTBFFH

SportsEverton And Man United Eye Move For Zouma by damickey(op): 11:29am On Aug 09, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/kurt-zouma.png

Everton and Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.

The 23-year-old French center-back is no longer a key member of Chelsea’s first team and a loan move away from Stamford Bridge will afford him more playing time.

According to L’Equipe, Everton and Manchester United have begun talks to sign Kurt Zouma.

The report suggests that Man United are interested in a permanent deal while Everton want to take Zouma on loan.

Both clubs are in need of reinforcements in defence and have been linked with the likes of Yerry Mina, Boateng, and Maguire. Zouma has emerged as a possible target for both clubs.

Zouma was regarded as a top class talent before he was ruled out for several months by a knee injury. It’s left to see if the player can regain his form and confidence.

Zouma spent last season on loan to Stoke City but he couldn’t help them to avoid the drop to the Championship.

Chelsea apparently do not want the player to join a direct rival this summer, and Everton might be the best option for Kurt Zouma. Zouma is likely to play under Marco Silva next season.

SportsChelsea Sign Kepa To Replace Courtois by damickey(op): 8:42am On Aug 09, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/kepa-arrizabalaga.png

The uncertainty in Chelsea’s goalkeeping department ahead of the 2018/19 football season has been sorted out as the Blues have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao.

Kepa arrives in a record deal from the Basque club worth £71 million, making him the current most expensive goalkeeper in football presently.

The Spanish international will replace Belgium international Thibaut Courtois who has joined Real Madrid.

“It’s a very important decision for me, for my career, and also for my personal life,” Kepa told the club’s official website.

“So many things attracted me to the club, all the titles the club has won, the other players, the city, the English Premier League. It’s an accumulation of things, and I am very glad Chelsea has decided to trust me and to take me in as well.”

Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia also spoke on the Blues’ latest addition:

“Kepa is a talent we have admired for a long time and we are extremely excited about his arrival. He has already demonstrated fantastic quality and consistency and will be a big part of any success Chelsea have in the coming years. His long-term contract reflects the belief we have in him and we look ahead to the coming seasons with an enormous sense of optimism.”

The club has made it clear that they would only allow Courtois to leave Stamford Bridge this summer if they found a suitable replacement for the Belgian.

“Chelsea and Real Madrid have tonight agreed terms for the permanent transfer of Thibaut Courtois subject to the agreement of personal terms and passing a medical,” a statement from Chelsea read.

“Subject to the completion of the deal Mateo Kovacic will join the Blues on a season-long loan.”

SportsSarri Hints On Hazard Stay At Chelsea by damickey(op): 2:55pm On Aug 08, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/hazard-seemingly-commits-future-to-chelsea.jpg

Maurizio Sarri has hinted that Eden Hazard will remain with Chelsea for the upcoming season after he held positive talks with the Belgium international.

Hazard returned from an extended break earlier this week after his exertions with Belgium at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

He scored the winning penalty as Chelsea ended pre-season in a shootout win over Lyon at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening.

The player came on as a substitute to a rapturous welcome from the Blues faithful present at Stamford Bridge for the game.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer but Sarri has confirmed that he has held talks with the attacker more than once.

This could be an indication that the talks of an exit have been resolved and that the player might be set to remain with the Blues for the 2018/19 season.

After Tuesday’s game, Sarri said:

“I have spoken with Eden two or three times in the last two days.

“He has spoken of everything. I think this problem – the Hazard problem – is not present now.”

Sarri also applauded midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The player might stay with the club this season.

Sarri added: “He’s potentially a great player.

“He has to improve from a tactical point of view but I think it’s not a problem.

“He is very young, he can be a very useful player for us.”

SportsAc Milan To Sign Bakayoko On Loan by damickey(op): 1:20pm On Aug 08, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/tiemoue-bakayoko.jpg

Reports in Italy suggest that Serie A outfit AC Milan are in advanced talks with Chelsea to sign French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are intent on signing the player on a loan deal this summer, and the move appears to be very close.

The deal in question would be a loan move with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Bakayoko has struggled at Stamford Bridge and his performances in pre-season haven’t been any better. The player was previously linked with a loan move to Sevilla.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco in a £39.7 million deal and he has failed to justify his price tag since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

The arrival of Jorginho also meant that he fell down the pecking order in the club’s midfield positions.

SportsGiroud – We’d Welcome Fekir To Chelsea by damickey(op): 9:59am On Aug 08, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/nabil-fekir.jpg

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has urged Chelsea target and France teammate Nabil Fekir to join Chelsea. He also revealed that Hazard discussed the possibility with the Lyon midfielder.

Fekir was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer as the Reds reportedly entered talks over a £60 million deal with Lyon.

Fekir reportedly has a medical with Liverpool only for the move to fall apart before the commencement of the Russia 2018 World Cup.

He was subsequently linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu but Lyon boss Bruno Genesio and President Jean Michel Aulas suggested that the player might spend 1 more season with the club.

Fekir captained Lyon to third place in the Ligue 1 and scored 18 goals in the process. However, as speculations about a move to Chelsea heightens, Giroud has suggested that it will be a match made in heaven.

“I spoke to him when we were with the France team and his transfer to Liverpool was aborted,” Giroud told reporters.

“After that, it was a question about Chelsea. Even Eden had a couple of words with him.

“We’d welcome him, he’s a great player and of course we’d welcome him with pleasure. I don’t know if it’s news but the market finishes on Thursday.”

SportsChelsea Set To Sign Kovacic On Loan by damickey(op): 5:48pm On Aug 07, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/mateo-kovacic.jpg

Real Madrid midfielder and Croatia international Mateo Kovacic is set to join Chelsea on loan for the 2018/19 season.

Mateo Kovacic has made it clear to Real Madrid that he wants to leave in search of regular playing time elsewhere.

Reports also have it that the player has gone on strike and has refused to report for training in his attempt to force a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

According to Marca, Kovacic is very close to joining the Blues on loan this summer as there are reports that an agreement between both parties is close to being struck.

Marca also claim that the deal which was preceded by talks which commenced on Tuesday may be announced in the coming hours.

Mateo Kovacic’s career has stalled since he joined Real Madrid from Inter in 2015. The player also struggled to start games for Croatia in the Russia 2018 World Cup.

A move to Stamford Bridge will definitely guarantee him the desired playing time that he craves.

SportsChelsea Set Sights On Jan Oblak by damickey(op): 11:57am On Aug 07, 2018
https://savechelsea.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/jan-oblak.jpg

Reports suggest that Chelsea have set their sights on Atletico Madrid and Slovenian shot-stopper Jan Oblak as a replacement for Courtois if he leaves Chelsea.

Courtois failed to return for training on Monday and has told the club that he wants to join Real Madrid.

The situation has left Chelsea with very little time to search for an ideal replacement who can also fit into Sarri’s ball-playing goalkeeper role.

Mundo Deportivo have claimed that the Blues are ready to raid Atletico Madrid for Jan Oblak.

Jan Oblak has an £89m release clause, and the report states that Chelsea will make a bid in the next 24 hours as they try to push for a move.

Chelsea have set their eyes on Oblak after reported moves for Reina, Alisson, and Jordan Pickford have fallen through this summer.

Alisson preferred a move to Liverpool, Reina opted to commit to AC Milan who just signed him this summer, while Everton reportedly demanded £58m for Pickford.

The potential arrival of Jan Oblak means that Courtois will get his chance of a move to Real Madrid.
