You need to agree that the Bible is a terrorist book too!

Hitler was not a Muslim!

And COVID 19 wasn't created by Muslims!

Osama bin Laden was a moslem.
Mohammed Yusuf was a moslem.
Nasir al Wuhayshi is a moslem.
Abu Muhammad al-Julani is a moslem

Do you want me to list twenty?

ISIS, Al-Qaida, Boko Haram, Al-Shabaab, Iswa, to mention only a few are Islamic terror groups.

Think of it. Most of the most terrorized places in the world are Islam dominated (you can even use Nigeria as a case study). Is it a coincidence?

Your Mohammad was simply a terrorist! The religion is a terrorist movement! No hate! It's what it is. Save yourself from that terrorist mob.

Oh alright, you said what is natural is not miraculous but God creating earth, light, animals, plants, humans, nature etc is that not a miracle? Why should what we create and invent not be referred to as extraordinary and a miracle on it's own...

Well, you cant call nature a miracle in this context because it is the usual. Thinking about the workings of the earth, you cant help but be in awe. However, the definition of the supernatural is God's precise incursion into nature as we know it to bring about improbable changes... You get?

For instance, Moses' division of the red sea is a supernatural incursion into nature. Jesus walking on water is also a similar divine incursion. Where did Gravity go? It beats all the laws of chemistry and physics we know. That's the definition of a miracle!

Secondly, you said we can only receive miracles from God when we pray.... Does it mean that only Christians can receive miracles? What about people who do not believe in God? Where does God's love come in irrespective of our beliefs?

No matter how much you love your adult child, you cannot protect a child that's hell bent on doing his things his way. In fact, it would be wrong on your part to try to coerce him or force him to do what is right.

Similarly, God's love is in His gospel. He is appealing to us always! Anyone that hears Him or hears of Him and rejects Him choosing to avoid Him has made his choice.

Lemme deviate a little.. you said God is not limited and that implies that man is limited.

If we truly serve a God that is limitless so what makes u think his creation is limited... Don't forget the bible said " ye are god's" we were created in his own image and likeness and we christians believe that whatever we have God gave us...God gave us a limitless brain to think and create as long as we believe it is possible...

First, ma'am, the "ye are gods" expression contextually isn't referring to men. God didn't give us a limitless brain. If He did, we wouldn't be limited. But it is a no-brainer that man is LIMITED. The smartest man in the world does not and would never know everything! Isn't it?

This therefore implies that he is working miracles through us his creations in our thoughts and the things we create, are still creating and will still create and this includes medicine. This is solely because we were created in his image and likeness...

Medical science is the extent to which man has been able to extract healing from nature. That is natural. It is ordinary. It is usual. But the literal definition of a miracle is something extraordinary, unusual, supernatural, and beyond the norm. Miracle is God's supernatural influence on the natural world.

What is usual in the natural is not miraculous. What is miraculous is not the usual. The miraculous means it is extraordinary or supernatural. We shouldn't mix these up!

To be honest it is true that people get healed when they pray and hands are laid on them when they go to church they receive their healing but how many people in earnest do u think will get well or healed from their sicknesses and ailments without medications? Wat about those who do not believe in God or who are idol worshippers or have other religions...

The fact is that medicine is and has always been limited. People died from tuberculous and malaria and co before a cure emerged. God doesn't expect us to trust in our own understanding. He asks us to trust Him for a miracle in prayers. Whether someone doesn't believe in God or worships some idol doesn't alter this fact.

Rather than see the failures of medicine which u have subtly emphasised so you can promote the limitless nature of God why not see God's love being showered on us all despite our religious diversifications through science and medicine. That people can get well through this gift and God can still save lives through this gift even without believing or being prayed for...

I would like your honest opinion on the statement above.

P. S. I am a "she" 😄

The thing is that our God is a supernatural God. He doesn't live in our natural senses. The only way to receive all that He gives is to reach Him through prayers. We cant trust in our limited understanding (without acknowledging Him) and expect to see His influence. He can't save lives except we pray. Our own ideas and understanding are too limited. We need Him. That's why we pray!

You have a point when you said Jesus commanded that we pray for the sick...but in this case, you never stated in what context should we pray...if she was to pray for the patient to receive their healing or we pray for them to find comfort, courage and believe that God is there to help them get through the illness they are facing ... Am in no way supporting she pray either way but pls move on to my next paragraph 🙂

At the time Jesus made that statement we literally had nothing like modern science, we had no panadol to cure headaches and doctors to perform life changing surgeries but now that we have them and with the fast pace at which we are advancing in the medical field I feel like praying for the sick is SOMEWHAT unnecessary.

What you are doing here, Sir, is beating around. Jesus commanded to pray for the SICK. He never commanded His followers to abandon medical science (which, by the way, existed in the furst century too). But He commanded not to trust in anything that's from man.

You seem to really bank your life on medical science so much. That's rather too naive, given the fact that the frailty US/UK healthcare has been continually projected since covid. Where your dogmatic optimism from?

It's just like relocating abroad and praying for nepa to bring light when there is 24/7 electricity and you just have to pay your bills i.e work to keep a steady electricity. So also the patients coming to the hospital and paying for her medical bills to receive treatment which God has already provided for us through the miracle of science.

I was almost tempted to ask you some personal questions. This is a rather naive take, Sir. Medical science as we know it is limited to be all that God has provided. The same Western medical science that has the biggest hospital casualties in 2020 to 2021? Or which?

You don't have to have a university degree to know this. Thankfully, God is not limited. That's why we pray for the sick. The miraculous is the intervention of the divine in the limitations of man. There is no logical proposition from you that's negating this!

Yes science is limited but where are we without it.🤷God answers prayers but he cannot provide answers to prayers he has already provided a solution for... It's just crazy

No! Think a little bit. Science is a function of man's discovery. Tuberculosis, for instance, was incurable in the 19th to early 20th century. Why? Because God was limited? No! Common sense No! It was man's limitation.

But common sense begats that God isnt limited by man's limitation. He does miracles when we pray! There are countless instances. You may choose to ignore these instances. It's fine! But there are countless instances of many healed from situations beyond man's current science!

So from my point of view you can see that she lacked understanding and she clearly broke the rules. It is also in the same bible Jesus taught on obedience and Paul taught on respect for constituted authorities.

Are you the one I've been engaging on this? If so, I think I already dealt with this in a previous reply.

Nevertheless, I'll sum it up for you again. No human rule is to be obayed at the expense of God's. There are hierarchies in rules. God's rules come first!

Think over this relevant scenario:

‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:18‭-‬19‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[18] Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. [19] But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges.

I get your point sir but I feel you're not getting mine. With the absence of rules comes anarchy and lawlessness...with that the modus operandi of any organisation is destroyed. If you were incharge of recruitment in a hospital would you recruit based on religious beliefs or professional expertise. I can bet that you would not employ a mechanic or even a cleric to carry out the job of a doctor or nurse.

The lady in question was hired and paid based on on her professional qualifications and nothing more. She was hired to do a job which entails providing care and comfort according to the boundaries of her profession... Clerics were also hired to that effect... This is to ensure every one carry out their jobs effectively.

The patient in question came to the hospital for the sole purpose of getting treated for an ailment because that is what hospitals are meant for. If they wanted prayers they could have gone to church. Now the hospital went ahead to create a department that can provide comfort and prayers for sick patients so that things like what this nurse did would not happen. The truth is she made a choice based on her religious beliefs and should be ready to face the consequences.

She was at work she should have performed the duties required of her and nothing more. That is what I implied as giving to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.

I get you. But the "give to ceasar..." quote is taken out of context from Jesus'original statement. But I get you.

As per what the lady did, you and I probably don't have all the key details. But, on a pragmatic level, there is absolutely nothing wrong with praying for a sick person. Except, of course, she was too conspicuous or messy with the way she went about it.

The point is that she, as a Christian, has the duty to pray for the sick. It's literally what Jesus commands! Its the same way Jesus commanded for His disciples to preach to all. The key thing is for us to not be offensive about it and go about it cautiously and peacefully (with the permission of whoever she was praying for). If this was how she went about her prayer and she was punished, she's got nothing to lose.

In summary, we don't review our christian values with secular punitive laws. We just ensure we get our ethics right (love, peace, courtesy, forgiveness, etc. and constituting no nuisance). If any law has any issue with that, we simply say:

‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[19] But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges!

Sir, If I may recall correctly, during the time of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego prayers were BANNED and also during Daniel's time prayers were BANNED. In this case, prayers were not banned they just established rules which involved notifying another department which sole purpose was to handle anything relating to religious matters which includes praying for patients and providing them comfort based on their religion.

You are trying too hard to make this make sense... The Bible specifically instructs to pray for the sick. Whatever law that BANS praying for the sick is not one I should obey if I must obey God's word.

If you area believer in Jesus Christ, you can't reasonably justify any law that stops you from preaching to one who is eternally perishing or praying for a sick. You can't be politically correct in a secular world and be on God's side.

Every organisation has it's rules, these rules are put in place for so everyone can know their boundaries and the consequences attached to breaking them....rules are meant to be followed and if you choose to break them then they are consequences... It's as simple as that. Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give to God what belongs to God.

First the "give unto Caesar" cliche is too highly abused. The only thing Jesus gave to ceasar was tax! That's the context. He never followed any "rule" that barred him from preaching.

If you read my post you quoted well, you'd see that the Apostles of Jesus Christ were faced with similar rules. But they would not succumb to man's rules at God's expense.

What are the consequences? Have you ever read about the prices the early Christians faced for their faith? Ordinary oyibo man's land deportation shouldn't get you so worked up at the expense of eternal purpose.

The lady in question stepped outside the parameters of her professional boundaries and even though she was doing the right thing according to her religious beliefs, she has to face the consequences.

Except if she constituted a nuisance with her prayer, praying for a sick person has no limit. Same with preaching to an unbeliever. No commited believer in Jesus Christ would take such a lethargic, lukewarm stance as this! Again, what "consequences" are enough to stop a man from living for God?

I know that God exists and miracles really do happen but what alot of us fail to see is that science itself is a miracle God gave man. The fact that man has the ability to create medicines, perform life changing surgeries is a miracle. So why then do we bother God when he has already answered our prayers🤷

Lol. Why then do you bother God? So laughable a stance! You probably don't know what miracles mean.

It means God's intervention in man's limitations. Science and medicine today is limited. It's there for you to see. That's why you cant choose to build your whole life on your fellow man's findings. God made you! He has the answers for you when man's ability fails. That's why we pray!

Selah!

If you like, quote scriptures from now till eternity, her appointment has been terminated and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. 💯

The termination of her appointment doesn't change anything. No job appointment on this earth is eternal.

Even your own job appointment (if any) would seize to exist one day on this earth. So, rest! What counts eternally is your service of God!

Lastly, never jump into conversations in which you have no stake. You don't know scriptures, you are feigning to know what "disobedience and arrogance" is.

Knowing the right thing (before God & the law of the land) to do and not doing it is arrogance & disobedience, not "service".

Arrogance & disobedience are the same sins Satan committed in the beginning of times.

Smh. These are not the words of a believer!

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were arrogant to obey God contrary to the opposing laws of their land? Daniel was arrogant to pray when the laws of his land asked him not to? The Apostles were arrogant and disobedient to preach when the laws asked them not to?

You need to decide who you really serve on this earth. Almighty God or your fleeting vanities? You need to take a clear stand where you pitch your tent.

Even 27 too early? Haba.
Nigeria is what makes people marry late. I knew back in the day an indigent student at UI ibadan, at 24, he got a job at chevron with starting salary of 10k, an un heard of amount. In 6 months the fella married his woman.
Why do I say naija is the problem? The economy and how things are set up.
A young man in the uk, at 24 is already married if he wishes to, he already has a house based on modgage, a nice brand new car on lease. He is working with skills acquired. By the time he is 27, he buys a bigger house by selling the previous one(as family has grown), he keeps paying his modgage and building his wealth through his property. Access to credit helps him.
Here in naija, you are on your own, even steady job hardly can run your expenses, to have a house, you muct cough out the whole money or pay huge rent with atleast 1 year payment.
Inshort, naija makes people advance in age before becoming men.

Actually, it appears that the question of early marriage is rather cultural than economical. The poorest people in Nigeria marry earliest and reproduce the most.

Methinks many young people are rather feeling unprepared to take on the burden of marriage. People kinda feel they still have milestones in life before marriage. So, its rather "cultural" than economical...

You are making a mistake as a man if you go being 30 unmarried. Yea my first son is in jss1 and I'm just 35, my wife 30 and trust me that family i created is bonded strongly, you can't oppress anyone cos we re all coming for you including my 2yrs old daughter that believe has teddy monkey can protect us all, don't worry. I grew from the street n now I'm a top accountant where In the organization I work, I know the street well and I'm putting my kids through the rope to learn the street without going into the street. Belive me if u meet that woman and you amhave a job, go for it, no job? No problems, use your brain and work your hands to bleed that money. Marrying young is heaven when the money and trust exist, I never ever regret marrying except for the period I went on training in geneva where I regretted being married cos I was Hot as hell n wife was in Nigeria, my vows couldn't let me believe me even tho the girl that was right there was Ethiopian and was so willing.. that's my only regret so far

That last statement is exactly why one needs to be mature before marriage...
