A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Muhammed Gudaji Kazaure (APC, Jigawa), Tuesday said some members of the House of Representatives, particularly those in the Peoples Democratic Party, were collecting signatures for the purpose of serving an impeachment notice on President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kazaure, who heads the Justice and Fairness Group of the 8th Assembly – a group created to solely to guard against threats to the president, said his group was aware of the collection of signatures, but added that it would be an exercise in futility as members of his group would resist any threat to the President.

Few weeks after social media worshipped rapper, Falz for his commentary on the Nigerian situation, “This is Nigeria”, The Muslim Rights Council of Nigeria has expressed its distaste at the video and is giving the rapper a 7-day ultimatum to withdraw the video or face action

The body claims that in his much-applauded commentary on the Nigerian situation, the rapper’s depiction of the Chibok girls does not depict their reality. In a statement released today, June 5, 2018, it claims that a scene where a man dressed in Fulani attire beheads a man is spiteful and intended to denigrate Islam and Muslims.

MURIC described the video as “thoughtless, insensitive and highly provocative” and said it could create religious and ethnic crises of “unprecedented dimension”.

This is because the singer used Girls in Hijab to dance “secular” moves.

You have been acting for over 15 years now, how has the journey been?

It has been interesting as well as challenging. But all the same, I’m still here.

What are some of the challenges you have faced in your career?

I would say the challenge of producers accepting me as an actress. Growing up in the industry, I felt like I have been stereotyped, people saw me as a tomboy and producers taught I could not fit into other roles. It was a very challenging period for me but then, it didn’t take long before I was able to prove my critics wrong. That was when I produced my first movie ‘Ajegbodo’ in 2006. It was an all female cast movie and it treated the issue of HIV/AIDS. It was a game changer for me. As a producer, one thing that affects every producer is the issue of piracy which we are still trying to curb till date.

Yoruba actress Motunrayo Adeoye has been reported dead after a prolonged battle with a chronic ulcer.
She died on Friday, June 1, at her residence in Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan, Oyo State. She has been buried according to Islamic rites.

Adeoye was said to be a niece of the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III.

Madam Adeoye, as she’s fondly called, graduated from Osogbo Technical College, Osun state, where she studied Electronics before going to Switzerland for a seven-month course on sound engineering.

The Peoples Democratic Party challenged the Presidency and the All Progressives Congress to immediately account for over N10tn public fund allegedly stolen by APC leaders and members of the Buhari Presidency cabal.

The PDP, in a statement on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the APC and the Presidency had been playing saint.

The opposition party said the APC members had been frittering trillions of naira to finance their opulent lifestyles and political interests, even under the watch of the African Union Anti-Corruption champion.

The PDP asked the Presidency to address Nigerians on the leaked memo detailing corrupt oil contracts to the tune of N9tn ($25bn) at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

It noted that the two government institutions were under President Muhammadu Buhari’s direct supervision as Minister of Petroleum Resources.
