As massive competition looms in the labour market, time to make yourself so useful and efficient in what you are now doing (developing yourself, earning more certifications and improving your skill level and with God's favour your cashflow will remain steady at the minimum.

Secondly, consider alternate sources of cashflow. Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your risks out.

A friend I know who works in the downstream has a recharge card retail business and laundry for meeting daily needs, a Unilever distributorship for monthly needs and his salary to save to take advantage of other opportunities. This model can be scaled down or upwards depending on your income level.

Just thought to share this with the GT Family. God bless us all.

Happy Easter in advance.

When you need someone badly, you will go out of your way to get the person irrespective of what Obama says or whether Trump wins or not.

Maybe NLNG's need for GTs does not exceed the risk attached to all these uncertainties propping up yet.

Probably, they feel they can do without GTs for the time being after all most of the 2007 recruits are still there and it is not like Train 7 has started self.

If they do not notify us by Thursday, 31st March 2016, I pledge to be like Junior and choose Option B in the excerpt below.

It is true, you may not like the work in which you are now engaged.

There are two ways of getting out of that work.

(a) One way is to take but little interest in what you are doing, aiming merely to do enough with which to "get by." Very soon you will find a way out, because the demand for your services will cease.

(b) The other and better way is by making yourself so useful and efficient in what you are now doing (developing yourself, earning more certifications and improving your skill level) that you will attract the favorable attention of those who have the power to promote you into more responsible work that is more to your liking (you might even attract better companies than NLNG).

It is your privilege to take your choice as to which way you will proceed.

Have we all given real thought as to why this delay from the last day of AC up on till now.
Do we think it is solely as a result of the drop in oil price? I would want to believe that the process of 'selection' is being given special attention by all teams involved in this last process .i.e HR team and d respective departments that would absorb the new recruits.
Cashme28 my friend, this your question is the easiest that has been asked on this thread.

You know one thing i noticed, if you read what the major sauces have said, again and again to a point, you will begin to see what is "unobservable" to the everyday reader- a connecting line.

My buddy, the only thing you can tell me that can take their time is all those our stories they were jotting down at the AC and I believe they are far beyond that at this point. After 9 months!

Kaitung said selection and placement. Every GT applicant has been weighed and ranked. It's just a decision of how many they want and what "favourable economic conditions mean to them". Once those two parameters intersect, bingo! we get our emails.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dane15:
Casme28 check am.

You do AC for 600+, you come leave 300+ for the recruitment to they assess individually.

I don't think that would be fair on their part at all. Considering the fact, that at this point anyone who passed the SHL and the AC can do the work VERY well.

No matter the criteria, it would be unfair to leave 300+ people in the database. Don't get me wrong I am not saying 300+ did not pass the AC. I am just saying if truly, a company like NLNG has 300+ people left for 120 spots after AC which is almost the last stage then it is painful...

Let us be realistic, if you were GM HR and there was an initial approval to recruit for 120, irrespective of economic situations and the number of people that passed the AC, you will select the top 120 first.

The next step will then be whether to screen 30 out later to make 90 according to princewealth's dream which is reasonable when bench marking with the last GT recruitment and considering economic realities or to screen 60 out which is a risk averse approach or probably to bring in the 120 which is what we are all praying for.

To have 300+ means the AC has not been concluded. Anyways as long as it favours me.

Believing in God's undeserved mercy jare.

Your 'sauce' might be right, but putting it forward as "it wasn't a joke when I earlier said those left in the race are over 300" makes you sound like a "super oracle" and in which case you shouldn't have ended with "If NLNG decides to absorb all of us, then good"
Anyways, Please don't be annoyed Cashme28.

That's why i asked for better ideas na. I just suggested. So bring something.

It wasn't a joke when i earlier said those left in the race are over 300. Number of those that scaled thru the AC cut-off mark exceeds those who didn't. This is a fact i know. If NLNG decides to absorb all of us, then good.
Cashme28 no one is doubting what you saw.

Can you confirm that all the 300+ were the ones who got the "in the running emails"?

Cos there is a possibility that they scaled the 300+ and sent emails to the top x. Where x is between 120 to 300.

Being able to confirm that all the 300+ that passed the AC were all sent the emails is the only reason why people will agree with your analysis and discount empirical facts from analysis that have been corroborated to the best of our understanding.

There are 3 things this assumption can mean:
1. Some people lie. They may declare they are not nairaland or that they only sometimes view as guest to protect their identity on this thread. The truth is that they may be very vocal members on this thread. It's a subterfuge designed to thwart u so u dont feel a sudden urge to begin to look out for them on the thread and pick off on the peculiarities in their writing style especially if u chat with them well on other platforms
2. Someone else might have told them about this poll and they probably joined nairaland yesterday or resuscitated their dormant accounts and they have thus been already added to the tally
3. If u know 5 guys like that and I know 3 guys like that and another guy knows 4 guys like that, there is a high tendency for us to begin to think that there are about 12 guys like that or apply some other estimation techniques that will still be far off the mark. The truth is that the same guys I know may be part of the same guys u know or different guys all together.
We can conclude that this current poll cannot be accurate. The only way we can have a more precise poll will be for each of us to convince people we know that are in d race but may not be on nairaland to get a nairaland account within two weeks and then we can have another poll then.
Thanks naastyme. This poll is another fun way to keep this thread alive
Cattysmilez is right, because I have not even liked the post yet and I am so sure there are others like me.

Just waiting for the 60 threshold and now that it has been crossed, I have a feeling that the process could have been sabotaged by some stakeholders just to ensure the recruitment remains shrouded in mystery. A small part of me believes we are more than 60 though.

Just a question, Is it possible we can appoint a Jega (Naastyme) and let everyone just post "Yes" and then we total the responses by Sunday giving those who only visit Nairaland on weekend a chance to respond. This will also enable us to track possible saboteurs.

Or can someone come up with a better idea on how to tweak the polls for better results?

Answer the FOUR questions below:

1. Find x in the equation QxMxDx=yGT and determine whether y has any relationship with 1960.

2. Determine if the limiting factor in the equation is the price of crude oil.

3. Determine the medical and resumption date with error margin of 1 week.

4. Determine how much GTs are paid.

The only uncertainty is the number of peeps that view as guests. That could range from 0 to x. Where x is less than 600.

The Managing Director,
Nigeria LNG Limited
Intels Aba Road Estate
KM 16 Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway,
Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria

Dear Sir,
RE: FEEDBACK ON GRADUATE TRAINEE RECRUITMENT

I am Dane15 one of your prospective GTs and I am writing this letter to you with all humility and due respect believing it will get to you at the top.

Before applying for this job in November 2013 after having participated in the NNPC recruitment that stalled since 2012, I was nonchalant at first because of the name of the company that starts with Nigeria.

I wrongly believed at the time that most Nigerian companies are birds of the same feather.
I believe that I must have been among the last set of people to submit their resumes as I was more interested in sending the advert to my unemployed friends than personally applying.

After applying, I read the facts and figures for 2013 and started to see that I made a very right choice by applying. The one that never ceases to touch me is when I read the profiles of the Management team and I am amazed to see a team of very intelligent people that have risen to the top through hard work and a track record of excellence. To know that this crop of the crème de la crème of Nigerian intellects will be the ones steering the company and also be my managers and bosses very soon is nothing short of thrilling.

You sir, started as a Chemistry and Mathematics Teacher to become the NLNG MD. This apparently is not by mistake as one can easily see from your profile that you handled key positions well in the past and made the best out of them, the DMD a very knowledgeable and widely experienced guru, GM- Production-Mr. Chima Isilebo (I am not an Engineer but I would love to have him as a mentor when I get in) a man that truly represents excellence from what I have seen on his profile and I am not surprised he is in charge of the plant complex.

The GM-Commercial , Finance, External Relations, HR, NLNG Shipping, General Counsel equally have tremendously intimidating profiles and any of all profiles listed above can be used to motivate countless people anywhere in the world on how to reach the top through an excellent mindset.

This triggered my awareness in your company and after much research, I also found out that NLNG is a truly global company in terms of contribution to the Nigerian economy, community impact and staff welfare.

My desire to become one of you grew from nonchalance to a wish and then to this big dream of mine.

Because of my keen interest, I have followed details of your announcement on anything financial and I believe that our annual remuneration which most likely is the reason for this delay when converted to USD is too insignificant at the moment relying on facts and figures from your company as a basis. (1USD/305NGN-Parallel market rate).

I also believe that judging from the quality of talents that have been exuded from this thread that the benefit of us resuming as quickly as possible will eventually exceed the cost even if the target recruits are not scaled down as the market price is cyclical in nature and will not remain at this level for too long.

Sir, it is widely reported that NLNG invested in assets to the tune of $14bn last year 2015 even in the midst of lowering prices, our salaries at most over 35 years of service will most likely not top $420mn and the fact that with time we will be the ones that will be entrusted to manage the $14bn plus assets speaks volumes about our benefits to NLNG in the long run.

Sir, someone once spoke about this recruitment being debated on a radio and at the moment it seems like we are competing with NNPC for longest running recruitment. I believe we are better than this sir.

We are a global first class truly Nigerian company. We are pacesetters. I believe people should learn from NLNG on how to do things. I would like to appreciate the HR a lot under your guidance on how they have responded to uncertainties in this recruitment ranging from Ebola Virus to Oil price fluctuations.

I want to specially thank you for approving the takeoff of this recruitment and I truly believe that you will listen to our pleas and approve the wrap up of this recruitment this March 2016.

I hope this gets to you some way, somehow and I hope it makes you smile.

Thanks for taking the pain to read our documented plea.

Your soon to be staff,

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dane15:
NAIRALAND JOB MOTIVATION SPECTRUM THEOREM- Make una see wetin NLNG wait don cause! ROTFL!!!!

Let's first of all start by appreciating people's complexities and diversities.

I would like us to see our motivations for the job as a spectrum with two extremes. On one end we have financial motivations scoring 1 and

Non-financial scoring a 10 and vice-versa on the other end.

Few of us are on the extremes of the spectrum, but most of us are somewhere in between the extremes.

Financial reasons are fairly straight forward but non-financial reasons can be very complicated.

For instance, someone who is the first child in a family of 10, may not think twice about loyalty when a job with better financial package comes calling while a last child with elder ones doing well and who has no pressure or burden placed on him may stick with a less paying job due to exposure, opportunities and career prospects.

Case study: Some of us here, no disrespect meant please o ehen.

Some people believe no man can pay them enough for their time, and look for jobs that give them as much time as they can get to mentor their kids and be a husband who is always around and they therefore avoid offshore jobs like a plague while others are dying to get the same.

Case study: Tevez. Sorry to the non-football fans. He was a player who money really meant nothing to.

Others want to just avoid a crazy boss, who is making life unbearable while some just want to save enough to achieve their dreams of becoming an entrepreneur- to them NLNG is only a positive catalyst.

Case study: Some of us here.

And I can go on and on.

Even inside NLNG, I believe their staff's motives for staying with them will be very diverse if only we can get a honest feedback from them but no matter what there must be a little element of financial reason. Otherwise, how else would we explain the low staff turnover in most well paying companies? Even Professors in Universities no wan gree retire! I hear also that only few of the last 2007 GTs have left.

So it looks like irrespective of what anyone wants us to believe, the level of pay is inversely proportional to the level of staff turnover whether there are career prospects or not. This proves that money means something to most people.

There may be few on the extremes, but most people lie somewhere along the spectrum. I am tempted to say no one lies outside the spectrum. I com remember my University IT say dem no pay me and I been work well because I need A for the program. Looolz but these are just exceptions sha.

I know people are flabbergasted, frustrated and fed up.

Personally, they almost put me in trouble when I left my former place of work in early 2015. I banked on the fact that by June 2015 the recruitment would be sorted out.

I would not have been able to leave my former dungeon if not for my faith in them to conclude this exercise last year. They failed my faith in them but God did not fail me but guys I suffered for 4 months in unemployment. All the other coys, that promised me offers started to downsize too due to problems in the industry. I almost sold my car. No be small mumu thing I do o!

God made the risk worth it sha, cos I got a better job and was able to get married to my heartthrob. All things work together for good for them that love God and those that are the called according to his purposes.

Almost 1 year after people still dey use the hashtag "wewait". Looolz. I can understand people that have put so many crucial decisions on hold because of NLNG because I have been there.

I think it will not exceed this March but my candid advice, if it exceeds March people should start marching on with their alternative plans. So that it will not be a case of "If you get what you want, will you want what you get?"

For the peeps vexing, let's be patient. March still has 27 days in it. From what I have garnered, HR seems to be almost through if not through.
Someone has to give final approval and I believe that's where the recruitment stepped on "superglue".

Probably someone's candidate might not make it if the final list is pruned to 60. Whatever the reason is abusing them on NL will not solve it. It would have been good if the top shots can be emailed en masse but we all know that would do more harm than good.

I just can't stop remembering the words of Rancho in the epic movie Three Idiots- Aal izz Well.

Anyways, from what I have heard, all I can say is that let us all take our minds off these guys. They are the most unreliable bunch I have seen. Though in all fairness there are several factors that are dynamic and affecting their decisions, but truth still remains that some other top notch firms in similar bracket would have made firmer decisions and concluded this process long ago. They keep changing mouth like Lai Mohammed and Reuben Abati and that can only infuriate the masses.

One thing is certain, this their NEBULOUS process will one day come to an end. For now, "anything they decide today will most likely not happen tomorrow", hence I am just going to stop disturbing my sauce for info. She sef don tire for all the come today, come tomorrow that her company is doing. At the end of the day, the hour will come upon us like a thief in the night just like our pastors Forkadict and co have prophesied. It's hard, but lets take our minds away from Q-whenever and just forget about these hommies. Whenever they are ready, they should let us know and by the special grace of Our Lord and Savior, we shall all 'meet in Heaven' when rapture happens.

That is adequate enough. No specific date needed, it'll drop SOON.
Egbon DWAY4WARD, if you read the post well, you will see that no one asked for specifics. You will also see that the post is in response to Baba Addict's comment where he asked us to squeeze Kaitung and I explained why he will be in a better position to do so and how he can revert if he chooses to do so.

Finally, he mentioned something referring to phasing of the recruitment. If you observe there was nothing too plain or specific in my message and you would have seen that I have a possible range of dates in mind myself. If I get something more detailed...nothing spoil.

1. Baba addict nor dey vex again- I am the happiest soul on earth.

2. You know something we seem not to know about QMD1215- I may be wrong but I may also be right.

3. You an insider has confirmed that Kaitung is legit - Oh boy! That moment when an Oracle crowns another Oracle as a super oracle in the same class with Al Nicer!

4. We should squeeze him out- Ha baba! With all due respect you and I know Kaitung be like smoke... He appears and disappears @ will! You barely even catch him observing.

5. You might be willing to either squeeze him and decode to us with all your full encryption system as usual or tell us another adoption story but this time, kindly confirm x in the algebra {Qx+Mx+Wx+Dx =120 Children} from left to right to the extent possible with respect to the date of adoption. Moreover, "Does 20 children per time" confirm the phased adoption hypothesis which some seers have been bandying?

I see good news around the ides of Q1M3 though.

I have a feeling that Al Kaitung and Al Nicer will not really mind provided you solve the equation in an encrypted manner if you can.

But seriously, it feels good to have you back in your full joviality. That Island doth really make a merry soul.

And this is for dway4ward please can you do a little write-up on S&P because it appears my understanding and yours are different wrt the Al Kaitung Theorem.
FamilyRe: Why Do Some Men Like To Tempt Married Women? Why??? by dane15: 1:58pm On Feb 29, 2016
Dating married women will most likely lead to premature death directly or indirectly.

Why should one's life be cut short directly or indirectly due to sex with a woman who is anatomically the same any other woman and more importantly belongs to someone else? For ecstasy that is not worth it?

In case you do not believe in the existence of God, even the great Philosopher Emerson concurred that no one can cheat anyone. Things will always even out. Simply because there is a law of compensation that exists on earth. A law of sowing and reaping. Amazingly, the Harvest is always greater than the seed. Someone else will sleep with your wife and multiple times too! You may be lucky enough not to know till after your death though.

From the Holy Scriptures read:

1. My son, keep my words
and store up my commands within you.
2 Keep my commands and you will live;
guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
and to insight, “You are my relative.”
5 They will keep you from the adulterous woman,
from the wayward woman with her seductive words.
6 At the window of my house
I looked down through the lattice.
7 I saw among the simple,
I noticed among the young men,
a youth who had no sense.
8 He was going down the street near her corner,
walking along in the direction of her house
9 at twilight, as the day was fading,
as the dark of night set in.
10 Then out came a woman to meet him,
dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.
11 (She is unruly and defiant,
her feet never stay at home;
12 now in the street, now in the squares,
at every corner she lurks.)
13 She took hold of him and kissed him
and with a brazen face she said:
14 “Today I fulfilled my vows,
and I have food from my fellowship offering at home.
15 So I came out to meet you;
I looked for you and have found you!
16 I have covered my bed
with colored linens from Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed
with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.
18 Come, let’s drink deeply of love till morning;
let’s enjoy ourselves with love!
19 My husband is not at home;
he has gone on a long journey.
20 He took his purse filled with money
and will not be home till full moon.”
21 With persuasive words she led him astray;
she seduced him with her smooth talk.
22 All at once he followed her
like an ox going to the slaughter,
like a deer[a] stepping into a noose
23 till an arrow pierces his liver,
like a bird darting into a snare,
little knowing it will cost him his life.
24 Now then, my sons, listen to me;
pay attention to what I say.
25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways
or stray into her paths.
26 Many are the victims she has brought down;
her slain are a mighty throng.
27 Her house is a highway to the grave,
leading down to the chambers of death.
Proverbs 7:1-end. The Bible.

God bless your body, spirit and soul for this!

I will respond to those clowns @prelinctus, @scarletdp and the third person in a bit. If I have to unfollow the thread afterward, then so be it.

I have waited for a golden offer like this for thirteen long, excruciating and difficult years. And when God in His infinite mercies decided to intervene in my situation, some clowns want me to compromise it just a few weeks into the jobhuh All because of their own selfish interestshuh You want me to risk my neck just for your sakeshuh

An adage in Yoruba language goes 'Ti a ba gun iyan si inu ewe, ti a bu obe sinu epo epa, Eni ba ma yo a yo' Translated means ' If you serve a meal of pounced yam and soup in a leaf and groundnut 'case' those that will eat to their satisfaction will do so.

These guys have accused me of speaking in codes. Meanwhile a few guys got my messages 100%. @freeradical and @vantage to mention but a few. I don't know what more these jokers want.
It is another Yoruba adage that says, "Omode o le mo eko je ko ma ra l'owo". Meaning: There is no way a child will eat cornmeal and not soil his hands. You are an Elder in this race now, please ignore trash comments and let waste management handle it.

If you notice, I have added Baba to your moniker. No Ass licking but far less than 1% of Nigerians will ever have an NLNG offer letter na God do am for you.

Let mercy prevail over judgment.

Dplacement tried. He was in already; he had no business telling us anything but his pointers were both helpful and included disclaimers. “…… Make of this what you can”. I miss that line.
People like him force Nigerians to think hard and pick out clues that are available and use them to make meaningful information. Some people will still ask for the hour, minute and second that the email will be sent. Na their way. So they will surely not like people like Dplacement.
What amazes me is if Dplacement’s information does not make sense to you, why is it so difficult to ignore him as if he never existed?

Nicer has tried but if you and I were Nicer and we see all these so called “Jack Bauers” that the nation needs to help us check corruption who are jostling to enter NLNG. Who are busy unmasking and remasking, wouldn’t you save your career first? Anyways, I would.

Baba Addict has tried. Honestly, some of us here will not even utter a word after getting their offer letters. I am sure of this. Especially based on the comments we’ve been making - very selfish at times. This guy is on close to NGN22m p.a God bless his soul and still goes out to give us nuggets and clues which we can easily add up, corroborate to find out the truth yet we resort to name calling and mudslinging because he won’t risk the dream job he has been praying and fasting over for about two years for our own selfish interests.

Considering the small population of experienced hires taken, I believe any slip can easily be tracked by the HR monitors.
If Baba addict’s information does not make sense to you, why is it so difficult to ignore him as if he never existed?

Now, Artmedia! This guy’s selflessness is so crazy. He reminds me of a certain gentle man- Mesut Ozil. Football fans know what I mean. His information has saved a lot of people High BP and Hypertension.
And the way he even mentions his sauce, I wonder whether he will not put her in trouble. Can you imagine? We all know she is a she.
Some people would have enjoyed the benefit of the info alone. Yet he comes out here and dishes it like I am going to give him 10% of my salary when I get in.
And someone is still talking to him anyhow! If you have issues with his information, Oga the Oracle Throne is vacant, come and take it!

My disposition: I will be surprised if we get any emails today. (Not like that is not obvious already).
That brings me to another point-Kaitung said QMD1215 and talked about S and P. He never mentioned emails. God will help some people sha.
One thing that is certain for now is that Q1 notification is real. Resumption may be 2 or 3. So if I were you I will adjust my countdown machine to March 31st. If it comes earlier then fine.
