Religion / Re: BISHOP OYEDEPO: Is CAMA Policy Antichurch? by dane15: 8:43am On Aug 25, 2020
zebra:
Christians and the church are supposed to obey the laws of the land and constituted authorities. Remember, the Bible says, give unto Caeser what belongs to Caeser and under God what belongs to God. It also admonishes believers to respect constituted authorities for God is the one that put them there. I don't see reason why the church is trying to resist the laws/rules of the land set by the government. The government asked all religions (Christianity and Islam) to abstain from holding services in churches and mosques because of COVID-19, there wasn't much complain about it, but coming to being financially accountable to the church and government now, they are trying to form resistance.
In Somalia, where they are not allowed to preach the gospel or read the Bible they should throw their bibles away? Abi the Government in Somalia nor follow for the Caesar?
Why do you people like quoting scriptures upside down? I think in Africa, we should learn to read a bit before contributing on any matter.

See below:

The most disturbing aspect according to concerned Nigerians, especially Christians, is in Part C, sections 1 and 839 (1). The section thus appears to give the CAC (through a Registrar-General), wide powers to appoint or remove trustees (politically) to oversee the Church, hence the probability of these appointees who may not be of like faith, being used capriciously.
Religion / Re: BISHOP OYEDEPO: Is CAMA Policy Antichurch? by dane15: 8:38am On Aug 25, 2020
NaMeAboki:
Simply put; Bishop Oyedepo is a religious and tribal bigot who thrives on preaching hatred and division to his gullible flock rather than peace and unity in accordance with his calling as a man of God.

He is lying to say CAMA is exclusively targeted at the Church because it isn't ; the law included not only the Church but also all other religious and non governmental organisations (NGOs) without bias.

On the other hand, the bigot would rather abide by the same types of laws for his Church branches in Europe and America but would not succumb to do same in his own country - what a hypocrite!

He apparently represents a growing number of sub-Saharan pastors who amass a tremendous amount of wealth against the contrasting backdrop of poverty among their increasing followers; contrary to their counterparts in the said Europe and America.

It is therefore not hard to read meaning into his strong opposition to this law - because the days of fleecing their flocks to support such flamboyantly lavish jetset lifestyle on display by some of them may soon be over.

I think you are missing the point. The Bishop's concerns are that, "Na from clap we dey enter dance". If the Bishop gets NGN200m in a year how much will his tax be from the point of Personal Income? Let's say NGN50m. How does that stop him from living well? His worries are that a government that is seemingly intolerant to other religions and uninterested in the welfare of Christians has been trying to tamper with the structure of Christianity for sometime. Not too long ago, we almost had a law that targeted the founders of Churches and almost wanted to replace them, hate speech bill came because some leaders didn't like the fact they were challenged by leaders from the pulpits, now we are talking about regulating a Church by unbelievers who don't understand what a Church is even all about.

Shouldn't a responsible Government that has genuine concerns about the running of Churches and other organizations invite key stakeholders of the umbrella bodies of organizations concerned so that they can have a fair opportunity to give their reasons on why and how the document can be improved? Would getting their buy in not help reduce compliance costs? Why do we always copy civilized countries in an half baked manner?

What value is this part of the CAMA going to add to Nigerians? Will it end insecurity in the NE or transform our economy? NDDC has been overseen by the Presidency for years, what has changed? When did Government start overseeing spiritual activities? Is this another attempt to create work for another agency of Government to guzzle taxpayers money?
This is considering the backlash that this decision will generate in a country like Nigeria. Let me remind you that Nigeria is one of the most religious countries in the world. How do I know? A case in point, we had riots because someone drew a cartoon of a highly revered Prophet in a far away country. Yes, that's how religious Nigerians can be.

I do not see what value appointing a Christian as a Trustee in a Mosque management would bring and vice versa. Why can't we allow people to drink water and keep cup?
Religion / Re: BISHOP OYEDEPO: Is CAMA Policy Antichurch? by dane15: 7:45am On Aug 25, 2020
In my opinion, one of the hallmarks of confused leadership or Government is misplaced priorities.
Even the blind knows that the running of the Church does not in any way come close to the front burning issues of insecurity, corruption, economic challenges, unemployment among many others that have plagued this country for decades and hindered its development.

In the face of meagre resources and the need for urgent solutions to the problems of Nigeria, we should scale our major problems and tackle them in order of priority. A well revered former President even created a 7 point agenda of focus. Only a Government without focus would place Church management as its priority in a nation that still does not know its population as we speak, where voters' numbers still exceed number of voters' cards, where people are being slaughtered on a daily basis in the North and South, where majority of citizens are living under a $1 a day.

Let's identify 20% of our challenges as a nation responsible for 80% of our problems per the Pareto principle and face them.

Another issue that surprises me is the level of hatred for each other in this country and on the continent. Some of these Churches would do better than the today Government in managing the resources of the people. Universities with stellar performance, thousands of people on the church payroll, multiple families being fed and many of them paid all through the COVID-19 period. Some have built roads, some have scholarship and grants and have contributed to the society in many ways than can be listed. More importantly a thief enters the prison and comes out more hardened, enters a bible believing church and comes out reformed. Yet the Church is the problem. Shouldn't we study how they do these things perhaps we can learn something from them that can help the country as a whole? Why must black people always gang up to destroy things that work rather than try to understand it and make it better? When will we start consulting adequately before making laws? If the Government had genuine intentions and concerns, why didn't they invite all stakeholders represented by CAN and discuss their worries and then come up with solutions? Is that not what a responsible and reasonable Government would have done?

In a nation that is very sensitive to spiritual issues, the last thing we need now are divisive decisions. Someone, sets his money on fire and another person is bent on having headache over it. Agreed, the person who set the money on fire MAY be crazy, but the one who gives himself headache to the point of being sick over it is CERTAINLY mad. No Church puts a gun to people to give. People do so because of their beliefs and the best you can do if you believe that God exists is to pray for him to open the eyes of the people. A God that needs human assistance is no god. If you believe there is no God, then live and let live. In Yoruba they say, " Falana gbo tire, tara eni la koko n gbo". We need to calm down and mind our businesses.

If Pastors have personal income, they should be taxed. If they own businesses they should pay taxes but wisdom dictates that with the current leadership of this country being predominantly muslims, they should steer off controversial issues that will underline suspicions already on ground. The country is too divided already and what we need right now is a way to bring everyone back together through all inclusive policies.

I rest my case.

Politics / Re: Marginal Oil Fields: Urhobo Group Urges Osinbajo, Sylva To Address Agitation by dane15: 2:24pm On Aug 03, 2020
In my opinion, I think there is a laid down process for getting the marginal fields.

The Government assesses your technical competence and financial capacity. Oil business is not based on sentiments, it is for heavy duty giants.

Many of these marginal fields were earlier awarded to some people who could not develop it. They thought they could get the license and go search for funds and that's very challenging to do in this era of sub-$50/barrel oil. They wasted Government's time and we lost potential petro dollars.

The bidding was thrown open to all, nothing stops any state or people with capacity from bidding. You will win if you do the needful. No one will just come and give oil block to you in your house. It's just like religious people who are praying for Nigeria to change but never participate in politics. How will that happen?
Crime / Re: FBI Tracked Woodberry Via Iphone, Whatsapp, Bitcoin Transactions by dane15: 2:35am On Jul 10, 2020
On most exchanges today, they will not register you except they get you to take a picture of yourself with your ID, holding paper with that day's date. Except you will eat your cryptos, you will have to sell at some point. If you want to sell your cryptos, they will only send the cash to a bank account with a name that matches the ID. This is where the crypto to cash mule or mumu probably comes in.

Because it is a mumu, it has forgotten that original details were used in opening the bank account, which the exchange has tied to the details it submitted. It sells for cash, leaving audit trail that will later destroy the whole ring.

Same for the cash to crypto mule. The mule has left footprints in the bank and the scammer collecting his dough as crypto will not protect him 100%. There is always an Achilles heel. It is like pretending to be dead and making it real by trying to bury yourself. There will always be an exposed part of your body no matter how much you try. What about OTC? Well, like someone said, if them get your time they will get you.

You are probably buying for Politicians and acting as their own mumus to help steal our national wealth. As long as you have BVN, you will leave your own footprint online too. It is only a matter of time, you will be caught, and disgraced.

Someone, said their money will quadruple by the time they are through. Remember, some people went to jail for Liberty reserve and E-gold. Today those currencies no longer exist. Use your head.

I think the issue with most Yahoo boys is that they have left school for a long time and their mates pursuing legit hustles have gone too far. They feel it is too difficult to admit that fraud doesn't pay now and start all over again. So, they blindly cross the road to their destruction.

And if you are a Yahoo boy still feeling like Rambo and that you know more than all the people that have been caught READ this article if you know how to read:

Politics / Re: P&ID $9bn Judgement Debt: P&ID Gas Contract Was Not Approved, Says Aondooakaa by dane15: 6:18am On Aug 31, 2019
seunmsg:

Do you even understand the procedures stipulated in the public procurement act to be followed before awarding such a contract? The AGF as at when the contract was signed is telling you that the FEC did not approve the award of the contract and you are here shouting that we should go and pay. You want your country to pay some dubious Irish for a contract that wasn’t even validly awarded?

Even if you hate the president, must you hate your country? Every reasonable Nigerian should be concerned about the criminal intention behind the contract. The fact that our law was violated in the process leading to the award says it all. This is the time to get patriotic and drop the silly APC vs PDP mentality that has eaten deeply into the brains of some of you. Nigeria will not pay that silly company and their corrupt collaborators any $9billion.

With all due respect Seun, the major issue for me is not whether they followed or did not follow due process.

I am apolitical and even though I think that the Nigerians behind this matter should be tried for treason if found culpable, my major issue is the gross incompetence and the foolish manner with which the relevant government bodies have handled this matter.

It bears all the hallmarks of ineptitude, fire brigade approach, too little too late and excuse for failure that have come to be associated with the current APC government.

Must we always be like this? Why do we hate playing by the rules? This news will likely affect foreign investment inflow and this is bad news in a time when we need more foreign investors. Even if we refuse to pay and we get away with it, which I very much doubt, it will further aggravate Nigeria's case as a risky investment destination where the rule of law is just as valuable as tissue paper.

PDP has its blame but when APC came in and they got wind of this matter what did they do to nip it in the bud? Why is EFCC just starting investigation now? I just hope somebody will not come and carry NNPC one day and that is when all our eyes will clear.

Seun, the APC government needs to seat up and they will only do so through constructive criticism. You are Yoruba I guess and you believe in joint discipline. You say the truth as it is albeit diplomatically and respectfully. By now, some people should be answering serious questions with the possibility of sack in the relevant ministries. That fine will build another refinery Chief.

Congratulations!

For the new born, why not let madam travel and birth in Canada and u do a soft landing. This may be easier than adding the new born to PPR in the Long term.

Dear Junebaby,

Thanks for your concern.

It is too late for her to fly. We will just chill and enjoy our house rent small, while I am applying for jobs. Plus the winter is not smiling right now.

I pray your PPR will come speedily. Amen.

What a journey! Congrats! Reading this makes me afraid of using my pension as part of POF. One can't really say with these people o. Pls what percentage of your POF was in pension.

Hello, NanaF.

Just use your LOE very well if you are using Pension.

Let me summarize and paraphrase my response on Pension to them: 25% of your Pension is accessible to you after resignation and a lot of people have used it successfully.

There is no way you will relocate to Canada and not resign. Moreover, it is technically your savings and not a Government benefit.

The success rate of the withdrawal of 25% of your Pension balance is almost 100% in Nigeria.

However, if you can, I will say don't rely on your Pension. Just use it as a buffer for exchange rates.

Guys, you won't believe what God did for me today.

PRE-EXPRESS ENTRY

The year is really starting on a good note and God is never late. My journey started around August 2014 at about 5 am when one of my Aunts like that, who has spent many decades in CA called and started raking o. "Iwo o fe serious abi? Mo ti n ran omo mi si e lori oro Canada yi o kan se bo se wu e! You are not serious at all. (She had been telling her daughter, my cousin to convince me to come to CA but I was not interested).
Na so I start to dey beg my Aunt o. They assisted me with all the info I needed and paid for my WES and IELTS. I carry overconfidence enter night bus go Calabar go write IELTS na so I get 7.0 band sha. I nor even know say I fail by EE standards.

I packaged my application with my completed WES-UI B.Sc only. Na so my Work Supervisor turn Devil. She refused to sign my experience letter. By the time I would get an alternative, it was late December 2014. I tried my best to send in my application before the December 31st, 2014 deadline but it got in after the quota for my profession had been filled up.

EXPRESS ENTRY ERA

Enter Express Entry-2015. I saw the cut-off scores were in the 500-700 range if I remember well.

Na so I bone the project. I cannot come and die. IELTS expired (it wouldn't have been useful anyways) but thank God WES lasts for 5 years.
From 2016 to 2017 the scores started dropping till it entered sub-450. I read about the process and started guiding my interested Pals as I didn't have my POF ready. One by one dem start to get PPR. I now told myself, e be like say I wan turn Bus conductor o? You are consulting for people, they are travelling but you are still in Nigeria. Wehdon Sir!

TIME TO LEAP
By late December 2017, I had to start preparing for IELTS again. I upgraded my WES with my second certificate obtained in 2016. Sat IELTS in January 2018.
Before I wrote the exam, I studied the old result and identified areas where I needed to improve- S (6.5), W ( 7.0) and listening (7.5). For speaking I used Jay, for Listening and Writing, I started practising with Cambridge materials. I did that for about a month until I was doing 8.0-9.0 on Reading/Listening while building my self with Jay bobo on speaking. For writing, I tried to understand the mind of the marker.

The toughest of the tests for me was speaking as my head just blank when dem ask me to talk on client satisfaction and customer service- I sha said one thing about Police and suspects that their suspects should be treated as customers till they are proven to be criminals. Na so the examiner begin dey smile. I think say I don Jonez! Of all examples I could have given why Police? Result sha comot for Feb 2018-L-8.5, R-8.5, S-8.0, W-7.0.

People it could only have been God. WES came out with 2 certificates. We got ITA in February 2018. My family of 3 did medicals and we included my Pension which amounted to about 20% of the POF and the remaining 80% were made up of my savings and financial assistance from my cousin and Brother in law in CA. My BIL gave me 15 marks that I didn't need. I wish I could transfer to someone who needed it but sometimes life can be funny. You have excess CRS points meanwhile you are unable to help people who need just 1 extra point to get ITA.

When I calculated my POF in April 2018, Stanbic used to confirm balances at about NGN250/1CAD (CBN). I did a worst case scenario of NGN270/CAD and my POF was still enough for my mind o, for my mind.

THE LEAP
I submitted my application on the 5th of April 2018 and the journey started.
ITA-February 12th

eAPR-April 5th

IELTS Results Uploaded-April 7th/11th. I realized that I only entered my scores and TRF details. I didn't upload my IELTS results.

PR Fees/Dubai Training-May 9th/ May 23rd. I uploaded evidence of my post eAPR PR fees payment and passport pages of my travel to UAE for a training alongside the training certificate before they will come and erroneously say I went to train with ISIS and elongate my Security screening. God forbid!

GCMS 1-Jun 29th/August 2nd- This application should not exceed 3 months now? Let me see my GCMS notes- Insufficient Funds, Review Required. Case analyst used almost NGN280 to 1 CAD leading to about CAD500 shortfall. Which kain Village people (VPs) be this one? I asked for advice on this thread and was told to quickly raise a CSE which I did. Thank God the POF has been increasing since eAPR date and as at August 2018, it exceeded the required POF even if the Case Analyst wants to use NGN300/CAD.

Used CSE to upload revised LOE for Settlement Funds/IRCC Generic Response-August 7th/August 28th

GCMS 2 Request/IRCC Response -July 3rd/Aug 28th Insufficient Funds, Review Required. File was not touched at all!

GCMS 3 Request/IRCC Response-August 13th/Sept 15th 2018- Insufficient Funds, Review Required. Confirmed, Village Peeps don show! God touch their hearts at IRCC to look at the revised POF I sent now?

I managed to wait for 6 months from application date on 5th of October. Then I added 3 weeks and some days of patience.

GCMS 4 Request-October 10th

RALPH TO THE RESCUE
I then heard of the Gentleman MP Ralph.

Contacted Ralph/Ralph response-Oct 28th/29th. Eligibility ongoing, Security not started. Olorun! Iru awon eeyan wo l'eleyii gan na? I intensified Prayers.

I contacted Ahmed Hussein-Oct 29th

I contacted IRCC/IRCC Response-Oct 29th/Nov 1. They only acknowledged Ralph's contact. Nothing more. What kind of shoddy service are these people rendering to us ehn?

I contacted IRCC- Nov 1st. I diplomatically explained to them that I could not make any sense out of their Nov 1st response.

A PUNCH BELOW THE BELT
Nov 3rd- They nacked me Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) over POF. My world spun. Every internet search I did, pointed to a refusal. Why me Lord? People said it was the end of the road. I looked up to God. They set aside my Pension because of the 4 months caveat, reconverted the balance already confirmed by Stanbic in CAD at about NGN250/CAD and used NGN276/CAD but they included a GTBank balance (CAD1,500) per the statement I sent which I did not even use in calculating my POF since I could not get the letter in the required format from GTbank. This is a totally different angle from the Case analyst's review o!

GCMS 3 Response-November 7th. This GCMS report was cancelled 1 minute after it was sent. I however used it as evidence in my response to the PFL because it still showed that the Case Analyst's position which accepted the Pension has part of my POF has not changed even after they sent me PFL.

IRCC Response to Nov 1st enquiry- Nov 6th. Your application is still in progress.

Response from Hussein- Nov 6th. Hussein's office contacted IRCC and additional information is being requested from me (PFL) which is required to conclude application.

I sent an email appreciating Ralph/Hussein-November 7th.

GOD GUIDED RESPONSE

I went online and studied PFLs at length and how to respond to them, what the reviewer wants to see.
November 9th- I prayefully responded to the PFL trying to address all the issues raised. I detailed my POF at application date including all evidence and pleading that they should not disregard my pension as it is technically my savings and not a Government benefit. I also detailed my latest POF at response date. Both were far above the required minimum.

WAITING, WAITING, WAITING

Contacted IRCC/Response from IRCC-Nov 9th/16th. We have forwarded to the responsible office.
Contacted IRCC/Response from IRCC-Dec 3rd/Dec 4th. Currently verifying eligibility requirements.
Contacted IRCC/Response from IRCC-Dec 6th/Dec 7th. Still in process.
Contacted IRCC/Response from IRCC-Dec 13th/Dec 14th. Still in process.
Ghost Update-Dec 17th

ANGEL RALPH AGAIN

Contacted Ralph again/Response-Dec 18th/Dec 18th. I told him I was totally frustrated by IRCC. Despite the fact that he only responds once, God favoured me with him and he brough good news the same day. Application has been approved. Awaiting PPR.
I sent another email of appreciation to MP Ralph-Dec 19th

WHICH WAY IRCC?
Contacted IRCC/Response from IRCC-Dec 19th/Dec 20th. Still in process. This people no gree update my CIC account with PPR o. Wetin be this one na?
Contacted IRCC/Response from IRCC-Dec 20th/Dec 21st. Information differs.
Called CIC twice in the week. They said my file is still in Nova Scotia and will need to be moved to Lagos office bla bla bla.
I requested GCMS 5- Dec 26th
Contacted IRCC-Dec 26th/Dec 27th- We will inform you when a decision has been made.

NDVO BONANZA

I heard of the NDVO bonanza, but at the time, I had already paid another house rent and I had already scored a goal with madam and she might not be able to fly. There was no need to fast track anything again. I just chilled. I only sent emails to Lagos office and Accra Office.

ANGEL RALPH STRIKES THRICE
Out of curiosity, I sent an email to my padi Angel Ralph on the 17th of January, 2019. He responded CIO would hopefully send the passport request shortly. I sent him an email to appreciate him again.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT IS PPR!
Feb 4th. PPR strolled into my email at 8:34pm yesterday from CIO.
Finally Baba did it o in exactly 10 months from April 5th. He (the King VIP) has disgraced the village people (VPs) finally. God of my fathers- Kenneth E. Hagin, Pastor Adeboye and Bishop Oyedepo has done it for me.

NEXT STEPS

I will appreciate guidance from anyone who has added a newborn after PPR.
This thread has been very awesome and I want to appreciate everyone for your help. May Canada favour us all. Prof Ralph, please ignore my typos and blunders and score me well otherwise, I go do you wetin Justice Umar wan do Onnoghen. Afterall, you won't mark your own PPR script.
I pray that no matter the stage where you find yourself, God will come through for you in the mighty name of Jesus.

ADVICE
1. Please don't only read page 0, study it and meditate on it till you are very confident about the whole process.
2. No two applications are the same. Peace People.

Hello People,

So I have been thinking about something. If you have family living in Accra can you send your passports to them to submit at AVO?

I am thinking one might be able to save some money and also expedite the COPR. A win-win!

People with similar experience, those that know/have read about those with similar experience or those that have facts to support the move kindly assist.

Thanks in anticipation.

Education / Re: Advice: Should I Go For Medicine Or For A Masters? by dane15: 12:09pm On Jan 06, 2019
Aremson14:
Good day everyone. I am a final yr biochemistry student. And i have been wondering what to do after school. Ive always dreamt of studying medicine but the situation here in Nigeria has discouraged me(due to how difficult it is to get the admission even after scoring good enough scores in Jamb and p.utme).

I'm speculating if i should take a direct entry form or i shld just head for my masters as soon as im done. Im quite young so i think if i go for my masters and phd as soon as im done i shall be a phd holder by 26 provided everything goes as planned. But then there is this medicine i also love.

Your advice would be appreciated especially those that have been in this situation before and have already passed through this, any regrets.

Enyi m, my advice to you is simple-What is your passion?

If you study and practise medicine for financial rewards in Nigeria, your tears go full bucket o. Why do you think they are always going on strike? And mind you, gone are the days of automatic jobs for Doctors o. The competition for the few vacancies in Private hospitals is stiff and that is one of the many reasons why they are leaving the country in droves.

On the Biochemistry, a lecturer in the Chemistry department of UI back in the days, Professor Adesomoju used to say that your BSc is a platform for you to achieve your dreams. Your Bsc simply shows that you are trainable. You can still end up as a Chartered Accountant, Architect, Banker if you strategize smartly. I assure you that with a 2:1, and good exposure to GMAT tests and job interviews, you will land a job in no time.

If you have less than a 2:1, you can also decide to take your Post Grad studies in Nigeria, lecture, work as an Industrial Biochemist, a medical biochemist or travel out of the country and take a bridge MSc between Biochemistry and Medicine/Engineering, become a Biomedical Engineer and change your life.

But at the end of the day, it is up to you.

alBHAGDADI:

Exactly.

You have everlasting life the moment you believe in Jesus. If you can lose that everlasting life, then it means it was never everlasting. That means you have called God a liar because you do not believe that the gift he gave is everlasting.

1 John 5:10-11
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Sorry Albaghdadi, how did the first man Adam lose his immortality biko?
Religion / Re: Daddy Freeze Is A Liar, Tithing Is Very Scriptural And Was Approved By Jesus by dane15: 12:30pm On Dec 16, 2018
Albaghdadi,

You have done well but I want to remind you that the success of every manual is in people being able to follow the processes in there, repeat them and get the same results.

This is one of the reasons why God who was so sure of the Tithing process, said or boasted in Mal 3:10.

Malachi 3:10 New Living Translation (NLT)
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!.

God is not calling us to argue with each other. He is calling us to try it or test a process that works. I believe a Christian should be able to take a 3 months sample and compare happenings in his life with and without tithe. Case in point is Rockefeller:

The U.S. first billionaire said once in an interview:
Yes, I tithe, and I would like to tell you how it all came about. I had to begin work as a small boy to help support my mother. My first wages amounted to $1.50 per week. The first week after I went to work, I took the $1.50 home to my mother and she held the money in her lap and explained to me that she would be happy if I would give a tenth of it to the Lord.
I did, and from that week until this day I have tithed every dollar God has entrusted to me. And I want to say, if I had not tithed the first dollar I made I would not have tithed the first million dollars I made. Tell your readers to train the children to tithe, and they will grow up to be faithful stewards of the Lord.
— John D. Rockefeller, Sr.

Tan, P. L. (1996). Encyclopedia of 7700 Illustrations: Signs of the Times. Garland, TX

He began tithing even as a child, and became one of the richest men in the history of mankind through the business of petroleum. He came from a poor family and an absent father. But his mother taught him to put down a root of faithfulness, which still today brings prosperity to the Rockefeller family (his fortune when he died in 1937 was US$ 760 billion, adjusted to today’s rates. This is more than 12 times the wealth of Bill Gates).

Being faithful upon little is a test of character. Before giving much to someone, you test that person’s character by observing how he or she behaves when in charge of little.

Just as God gave oil to Rockefeller, He wants to give sources of wealth to His children. There are many treasures yet to be discovered, millionaire ideas, opportunities… Of course, God is hoping to find faithful and diligent servants whom He can give them to, before they fall into other hands…

Only fools doubt proofs.
There are so many things, that we do in the bible according to our level of understanding. As you begin to get more insight, you begin to outgrow some things. That is why it is a walk with God. God told Abraham to walk with him. If you don't believe in Tithe and offerings don't even bother to give because your unbelief has negated the blessings tied to it. Keep your money.

If you believe in it, then keep enjoying the blessedness of tithing. Personally, I tithe (by the grace of God I don't even pay 10% any more, I have passed that level because of my love for God.), I have a portion of my money for Charity and I take care of my family. In less than 10 years, my career has accelerated due to Kingdom practices like tithing. I have never been on the same salary for 1 year due to my covenant with God that as long as I keep my tithing in love, he should do what I cannot do for myself for me and it has been working. I know how many job offers I have rejected this year alone even from the juiciest of industries.

But to be honest, most of my friends that I know shouting "tithe is for charity" are the ones who are always reluctant to give to people. They are just hiding under the umbrella of charity to save. Looolz.

So in conclusion my people, when we get to heaven, it will be clear whether failure to tithe will take people to hell or not but Tithing clearly has its rewards on the earth and it is not by force. If we are truly all part of the same body let us not argue. If you do not want to pay, glory to God and Hallelujah. If you love to, glory to God all the same.

Only a set of foolish people will leave matters of good governance which is the priority in Nigeria today and start worrying about how people spend their money.

Are you all normal? Is Nigeria not a free country again? If I like I give my salary to a stone. Why are you all taking Panadol for people's problems?

Has anyone who paid Shiloh Sacrifice come to your doorstep for help? Why can't Nigerians just live and let live?

Is it not immaturity and busybody of the highest order for someone to wake up in the early hours of the morning and be worried about how others spend their money? Mature people that should be working in reputable institutions!

A homosexual has the right to do what s/he wants because it is a free world but another individual in the same free world cannot choose to give whatever he wants to whatever God he believes in? You people should continue with your hypocrisy.

I leave you with this quote from Mauricio Pochettino, "What it shows is the respect that they have for us. When the people celebrate complain like this, it’s because people respect you and see you as a big club positive force to be reckoned with. When we arrived here five years ago the Church was impoverished and struggling, it was normally Arsenal always above Tottenham .......... But in the last two seasons decades, we were above them. To get the respect is the most important thing or the first step.”

Make of the quote what you will.

Bible: The most inconsistent book ever produced.

You will find verses to back up everything. Whether good or bad or evil, it's all there yet they claim it's the one true book.

I have read countless consistent books and till date it's still consistent. This same thing can't be said about bible.

Only dunces will take that book serious

I wanted to respond harshly to you but I remembered that it is not your fault.

Read the below scripture and you will see why you have not been understanding what you are reading:

Acts 8:26-40 English Standard Version (ESV)
Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch
26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south[a] to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. 27 And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship 28 and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this:

“Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter
and like a lamb before its shearer is silent,
so he opens not his mouth.
33 In his humiliation justice was denied him.
Who can describe his generation?
For his life is taken away from the earth.”

34 And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. 36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?”[b] 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he preached the gospel to all the towns until he came to Caesarea.

Let's not be fast to condemn some people with sadistic mindset and opinions.

Psychological assessment will clearly reveal that some of them had issues while growing up while some of them grew up in love-starved environments. As a result of this, what makes us humans is lacking in them and they cannot but wonder why we act the way we do.

Let's just show them love as much as possible and when their excesses are getting much, we should report their posts and when it is getting too much the MODS should ban them.

My humble suggestion.

Let them ban Nigeria, to hell with FIFA.

We all know it's Pinnick that is behind all this.

I'm not supporting any faction but I consider FIFA to be rude to my country.

Govt funds football in Africa, therefore, it is irresponsible of FIFA not to want to grant audience to a big stakeholder like Nigeria.

Supreme Court and FIFA? I will rather obey my country Supreme Court.

This is a signal to Infantino that we respect our court decision.

FIFA is a body while Nigeria is country. At times, I wonder what FIFA thinks it is.

Let Pinnick push FIFA to effect the ban.

We care no more.

Mr. Man, go and get your facts right.

1. He who pays the piper dictates the tune. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/russia-world-cup-fifa-pay-nigeria-n4-5bn/

Apart from that, the fact we are playing FIFA competitions is the reason why we have good sponsors like Aiteo that have invested up to another NGN1bn in NFF. How much money has FGN invested in Football? If you don't want to obey their rules, why did you collect their money?

I pity Buhari. If we are disqualified from next year's nation's cup that is when you people will understand the power of football in Nigeria.

Celebrities / Former UN Secretary-general Kofi Annan Dies At Age 80 by dane15: 11:39am On Aug 18, 2018
GENEVA (AP) — Kofi Annan, one of the world's most celebrated diplomats and a charismatic symbol of the United Nations who rose through its ranks to become the first black African secretary-general, has died. He was 80.

His foundation announced his death in Switzerland on Saturday in a tweet , saying that he died after a short unspecified illness.

"Wherever there was suffering or need, he reached out and touched many people with his deep compassion and empathy," the foundation said in a statement.

Annan spent virtually his entire career as an administrator in the United Nations. His aristocratic style, cool-tempered elegance and political savvy helped guide his ascent to become its seventh secretary-general, and the first hired from within. He served two terms from Jan. 1, 1997, to Dec. 31, 2006, capped nearly mid-way when he and the U.N. were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.

During his tenure, Annan presided over some of the worst failures and scandals at the world body, one of its most turbulent periods since its founding in 1945. Challenges from the outset forced him to spend much of his time struggling to restore its tarnished reputation.

His enduring moral prestige remained largely undented, however, both through charisma and by virtue of having negotiated with most of the powers in the world.

When he departed from the United Nations, he left behind a global organization far more aggressively engaged in peacekeeping and fighting poverty, setting the framework for the U.N.'s 21st-century response to mass atrocities and its emphasis on human rights and development.

"Kofi Annan was a guiding force for good," current U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said. "It is with profound sadness that I learned of his passing. In many ways, Kofi Annan was the United Nations. He rose through the ranks to lead the organization into the new millennium with matchless dignity and determination."

Even out of office, Annan never completely left the U.N. orbit. He returned in special roles, including as the U.N.-Arab League's special envoy to Syria in 2012. He remained a powerful advocate for global causes through his eponymous foundation.

Annan took on the top U.N. post six years after the collapse of the Soviet Union and presided during a decade when the world united against terrorism after the Sept. 11 attacks — then divided deeply over the U.S.-led war against Iraq. The U.S. relationship tested him as a world diplomatic leader.

"I think that my darkest moment was the Iraq war, and the fact that we could not stop it," Annan said in a February 2013 interview with TIME magazine to mark the publication of his memoir, "Interventions: A Life in War and Peace."

"I worked very hard — I was working the phone, talking to leaders around the world. The U.S. did not have the support in the Security Council," Annan recalled in the videotaped interview posted on The Kofi Annan Foundation's website.

"So they decided to go without the council. But I think the council was right in not sanctioning the war," he said. "Could you imagine if the U.N. had endorsed the war in Iraq, what our reputation would be like? Although at that point, President (George W.) Bush said the U.N. was headed toward irrelevance, because we had not supported the war. But now we know better."

Despite his well-honed diplomatic skills, Annan was never afraid to speak candidly. That didn't always win him fans, particularly in the case of Bush's administration, with whom Annan's camp spent much time bickering. Much of his second term was spent at odds with the United States, the U.N.'s biggest contributor, as he tried to lean on the nation to pay almost $2 billion in arrears.

Kofi Atta Annan was born April 8, 1938, into an elite family in Kumasi, Ghana, the son of a provincial governor and grandson of two tribal chiefs.

He shared his middle name Atta — "twin" in Ghana's Akan language — with a twin sister, Efua. He became fluent in English, French and several African languages, attending an elite boarding school and the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. He finished his undergraduate work in economics at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1961. From there he went to Geneva, where he began his graduate studies in international affairs and launched his U.N. career.

Annan married Titi Alakija, a Nigerian woman, in 1965, and they had a daughter, Ama, and a son, Kojo. He returned to the U.S. in 1971 and earned a master's degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management. The couple separated during the 1970s and, while working in Geneva, Annan met his second wife, Swedish lawyer Nane Lagergren. They married in 1984.

Annan worked for the U.N. Economic Commission for Africa in Ethiopia, its Emergency Force in Egypt, and the office of the High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, before taking a series of senior posts at U.N. headquarters in New York dealing with human resources, budget, finance, and staff security.

He also had special assignments. After Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, he facilitated the repatriation from Iraq of more than 900 international staff and other non-Iraqi nationals, and the release of western hostages in Iraq. He led the initial negotiations with Iraq for the sale of oil in exchange for humanitarian relief.

Just before becoming secretary-general, Annan served as U.N. peacekeeping chief and as special envoy to the former Yugoslavia, where he oversaw a transition in Bosnia from U.N. protective forces to NATO-led troops.

The U.N. peacekeeping operation faced two of its greatest failures during his tenure: the Rwanda genocide in 1994, and the massacre in the Bosnian town of Srebrenica in July 1995.

In both cases, the U.N. had deployed troops under Annan's command, but they failed to save the lives of the civilians they were mandated to protect. Annan offered apologies, but ignored calls to resign by U.S. Republican lawmakers. After became secretary-general, he called for U.N. reports on those two debacles — and they were highly critical of his management.

As secretary-general, Annan forged his experiences into a doctrine called the "Responsibility to Protect," that countries accepted — at least in principle — to head off genocide, crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing and war crimes.

Annan sought to strengthen the U.N.'s management, coherence and accountability, efforts that required huge investments in training and technology, a new whistleblower policy and financial disclosure requirements.

In 1998, he helped ease a transition to civilian rule in Nigeria and visited Iraq to try to resolve its impasse with the Security Council over compliance with weapons inspections and other matters. The effort helped avoid an outbreak of hostilities that seemed imminent at the time.

In 1999, he was deeply involved in the process by which East Timor gained independence from Indonesia, and started the "Global Compact" initiative that has grown into the world's largest effort to promote corporate social responsibility.

Annan was chief architect of what became known as the Millennium Development Goals, and played a central role in creating the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the U.N.'s first counter-terrorism strategy.

Annan's uncontested election to a second term was unprecedented, reflecting the overwhelming support he enjoyed from both rich and poor countries. Timothy Wirth, president of the United Nations Foundation, which disburses Ted Turner's $1 billion pledge to U.N. causes, hailed "a saint-like sense about him."

In 2005, Annan succeeded in establishing the Peacebuilding Commission and the Human Rights Council. But that year, the U.N. was facing almost daily attacks over allegations about corruption in the U.N. oil-for-food program in Iraq, bribery by U.N. purchasing officials and widespread sex abuse by U.N. peacekeepers — an issue that would only balloon in importance after he left office.

It emerged that Annan's son, Kojo, had not disclosed payments he received from his employer, which had a $10 million-a-year contract to monitor humanitarian aid under the oil-for-food program. The company paid at least $300,000 to Kojo so he would not work for competitors after he left.

An independent report criticized the secretary-general for being too complacent, saying he should have done more to investigate matters even if he was not involved with the awarding of the contract.

World leaders agreed to create an internal U.N. ethics office, but a major overhaul of the U.N.'s outdated management practices and operating procedures was left to Annan's successor, Ban Ki-moon.

Before leaving office, Annan helped secure a truce between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006, and mediated a settlement of a dispute between Cameroon and Nigeria over the Bakassi peninsula.

At a farewell news conference, Annan listed as top achievements the promotion of human rights, the fighting to close the gap between extreme poverty and immense wealth, and the U.N. campaign to fight infectious diseases like AIDS.

He never took disappointments and setbacks personally. And he kept his view that diplomacy should take place in private and not in the public forum.

In his memoir, Annan recognized the costs of taking on the world's top diplomatic job, joking that "SG," for secretary-general, also signified "scapegoat" around U.N. headquarters.

Former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Richard Holbrooke called Annan "an international rock star of diplomacy."

After leaving his high-profile U.N. perch, Annan didn't let up. In 2007, his Geneva-based foundation was created. That year he helped broker peace in Kenya, where election violence had killed over 1,000 people.

He also joined "The Elders," an elite group of former leaders founded by Nelson Mandela, eventually succeeding Desmond Tutu as its chairman after a failed interlude trying to resolve Syria's rising civil war.

As special envoy to Syria in 2012, Annan won international backing for a six-point plan for peace. The U.N. deployed a 300-member observer force to monitor a cease-fire, but peace never took hold and Annan was unable to surmount the bitter stalemate among Security Council powers. He resigned in frustration seven months into the job, as the civil war raged on.

Annan continued to crisscross the globe. In 2017, his foundation's biggest projects included promotion of fair, peaceful elections; work with Myanmar's government to improve life in troubled Rakhine state; and battling violent extremism by enlisting young people to help.

He also remained a vocal commentator on troubles like the refugee crisis; promoted good governance, anti-corruption measures and sustainable agriculture in Africa; and pushed efforts in the fight against illegal drug trafficking.

Annan retained connections to many international organizations. He was chancellor of the University of Ghana, a fellow at New York's Columbia University, and professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore.

In his memoir, Annan recognized the costs of taking on the world's top diplomatic job, joking that "SG," for secretary-general, also signified "scapegoat" around U.N. headquarters.

Annan is survived by his wife and three children. Funeral arrangement weren't immediately announced.

@HungerBAD, you people are busy concentrating on numbers. The number is just one of the parameters.

Consider the bolded:

143. (1) The President or Vice-President may be removed from office in accordance with the provisions of this section.
(2) Whenever a notice of any allegation in writing signed by not less than one-third of the members of the National Assembly-
(3) A motion of the National Assembly that the allegation be investigated shall not be declared as having been passed, unless it is supported by the votes of not less than two-thirds majority of all the members of each House of the National Assembly.
(4) Where the report of the Panel is that the allegation against the holder of the office has been proved, then within fourteen days of the receipt of the report at the House the National Assembly shall consider the report, and if by a resolution of each House of the National Assembly supported by not less than two-thirds majority of all its members, the report of the Panel is adopted, then the holder of the office shall stand removed from office as from the date of the adoption of the report.

You guys should be careful of this table you are shaking because it can also affect Buhari and the future Presidents of the nation. Anyone that bends to look at another man's anus unknowingly exposes his own to others. Don't support illegality no matter how corrupt Saraki is. The rule of law must be respected. The rule of law is what differentiates us from animals. Two wrongs will never make a right.
