Dear All,

We thank God for finally abolishing the walls of separation between "medicallisted" and "waitlisted" in terms of the definition of "successful" in this race. This is a news that has set our group buzzing with joy.

God can do anything, anyhow, anywhere and at anytime. The only obstacle is our belief.

However, another Medusa has raised its ugly head and we need the help of both groups to tackle this menace and it is the proposed NLNG Act amendment.

This is an issue that may affect us both now and after resumption as well and for this reason we need to come together as a team to tackle it. Teamwork nor be for mouth...

We are therefore requesting every successful candidate to retweet these tweets:

1. @ProfOsinbajo @NGRSenate @SPNigeria @YakubDogara Sirs, please reject the NLNG Act Amendment it is anti FDI & Nigerians will lose 18K+ jobs.

2. https://twitter.com/aMichaelO6/status/862572187911421954

3. https://twitter.com/adepetcares/status/862564440109187072

4. https://twitter.com/Tajuddeeng/status/862567086131957765?s=09

5. @dawisu @Omojuwa @DrDamages @SaharaReporters http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/05/nlng-act-amendment-cripple-trains-78-25bn-investment/ … Please retweet

The handles of the Senate President and the Nigerian Senate have been tagged. Let us leave out NLNG and the bosses so they will not think we are sponsored.

Let us also do an additional 4 creative tweets per day. Please we are honorable people. Let us not use insults in our tweets. It should be politely crafted.

Five tweets from all 140 of us could lead to 10,000 tweets per day.

Remember the T in ITEC/ITREC. Teamwork nor be for mouth.

Let us make some NOISE for our employer.

Your dear Successful,

my brother, NLNG people will just be reading this thread and they will be like, ' they are already fighting over whether to wait or not to wait'. Please, if you truly want to move on send them a reject mail and copy us. That's the proper way to move on. How can someone say she/he has moved on while still expecting a mail from them. That's being hypocritical.
No one can force his colleagues to resign their employment. You took the job alone and even if you were recruited as a group, resignation is a personal thing. Similarly, losing faith is a personal thing.

It is really hypocritical to claim to have moved on and still be expectant.

The Manchester derby (featuring arch-rivals Guardiola & Mourinho) which ought to have held earlier but was postponed due to Manchester United's League Cup engagement, has been scheduled and will hold this April, precisely on the 27th.
So based on logistics who will win? Guardiola who wants a shakeup in his team or Mourinho who wants to maintain status quo?

Anyways.. as long as the logistics favour me and my guys.

And we spoke at length for almost an hour or so.
And he told me high level prepz is being made to bring in 39 Techies and 41 Non-Techies who should have been in by Independence Month.
Since Independence month has passed, Q1M1 is very much sancrosanct.
He even referred me to the Monday/Tuesday Guardian where You Know Who advertised for Vendors to apply for expansion of the plant. It seems they are going for modular expansion as against the 7th Wagon.
Just tot to share this with my peeps.

NPComplete:
Yeah. I reckon the government needs to do more to guarantee the efficacy of their current strategy. They need to start making laws to expedite the creation of more refineries in the hopes that it actually drives prices down.
Come to think of it, must refineries be humongous contraptions capable of processing thousands of barrels of crude per day before they are considered worthy of investment and encouragement by presiding authorities? I mean some of our less-than-scrupulous fellow citizens have since perfected the art of illegal refining of crude, while looking over their shoulders, and some of their distillates have ended up in the market. Isnt there a way to encourage people to devise similar, but better designed, contrivances under legal oversight, quality control and regulation? They may not be able to produce quantities that will rival Dangote refinery but the sheer ubiquity of such springing up, if encouraged, will ensure continuous supply. The advantages are manifold

1. More jobs will be created as even SMEs will be set up solely for that purpose
2. Jobs will be created in even rural areas based on their proximity to oil wells as extracted oil can easily be transported nearby for local refining using the easiest mode of conveyance available. Unlike the sort of ridiculous situations we have now where oil producing areas suffer worst fuel shortages than non-oil producing communities.
3. It will reduce pressure on our foreign reserves quickly since there will be no need to source for foreign exchange to import fuel.
4. It will just stimulate the economy leading to more usage of our ports and inland waterways. Crude can be loaded into barges down south and shipped up the River Niger to different places in the north for local refining. Even Onitsha river port will feel less redundant. And since crude is less inflammable than fuel, it is a safer to transport and the highly inflammable end product will need minimal movement on the road before getting to consumers. The need for transporting through pipelines which are prone to sabotage will be reduced ensuring reliability of supply.
5. The byproducts of the refining will also be used to stimulate local economy or sold to other areas where it is in high demand. Petrochemicals can be used to produce fertilizers for local agriculture; lubricants for local use, etc....

The way I see it, it is safer to bet on numerous refineries with smaller capacities than one ginormous one requiring intricate pipeline systems that can be easily blown to smithereens by any ragtag group in the name of correcting perceived slights. It will be easier and better to get 1000 one-thousand-litter capacity fuel producing refineries around the country than a one-million-litter capacity refinery. The former can be completed within a year. The latter is usually prone to bureaucracies and takes a longer time to complete and still ends up putting the wealth of the nation in the hands of the already affluent few.
Your name is NPComplete and you only want to make.... Common sense. Good point. We will also need to control vandalization and bunkering as it could be come free for all in an attempt by every one to have his/her own mini-refinery and independent filling station.

WOW! a lot has gone down over here. the 'should we bombard them with emails' debacle, to our Bros Forkadict speaking in spiritual realm as usual, to 2016 Budget vs NLNG GT Recruitment. Una doh. Really good to be back.

@Coolio2014, this week is definitely NOT the week. Though we have all seen from Oga Bab's Channels interview that they really want to push the Train 7 as swiftly as possible so people brace up. I had already said it back then, April 2nd that they were not close to concluding then and that we should keep our minds to end of Q2 - well that is what we should still be looking at. I spoke with my MADAME SAUCY last friday, and she mentioned what our baba Forkadict said about the process being well in an advanced stage. She says 'males' definitely (90% chance of happening - her exact percentage) should come next month, with a 10% chance of it happening earlier or later. But they are almost done and dusted. I implore us not to bother them with anybmails yet till perhaps end of june, but I can almost assure you that a week in june will be 'THE WEEK' as she assured me.

As for me though,

1. Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2. but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

I know I am prosperous already. IJN. Amen!

@MrSneh,
I have watched the Channels clip and this got me thinking. Rather than fold hands and watch other competitors spring up like Olokola and Brass would it make sense for NLNG to acquire them and run them as full subsidiaries of NLNG if Train 7 is being delayed because of Political intrigues?
Why not acquire Olokola and Brass? I am sure NNPC may be willing to sell for cheap considering that all other investors in these white elephant projects are pulling out?
The Directors of these acquisitions will be top managers from NLNG just like NNPC seconded Oga Inuwa.
Approving the acquisition, maybe difficult but afterwards, NLNG seconded Directors (who should be majorly NLNG staff and not any of the secondees from the NLNG shareholders) can " somehow" approve expansion of their 100% owned subsidiaries without all the headaches that come with seeking all stakeholders' approval for Trains 7, 8, 9 et al. They will then get more dividends and gradually make Nigeria become number one in Gas exportation.
It will be easier for NLNG to run because of the experience garnered. NNPC will know that they still have 49% of 100% in the companies and Nigeria will benefit from more money.
There will also be more GT recruitments. Looolz. grin
Can anyone explain to me how the "somehow" can work? We will send the best answer to Oga Babs. Here is your assignment for the weekend.

Critic

A Critic is someone who finds fault with something and expresses an unfavorable opinion.
The word Critic came into English by way of latin, tracing back to the greek word krinein, meaning “judge, decide.”

If you’re a Critic, you’re essentially judging something — and finding it lacking. Critic can be used broadly to describe any person expressing an unfavorable view, but there are professional Critics as well, such as people who review movies or music. In that context, the word describes someone who thoughtfully assesses something, either favorably or negatively.

Primary Meanings of Critic
1. Someone who frequently finds fault or makes harsh and unfair judgments

IThe bolded sections are quite good and your write up is fantastic although I agree with @majekdom2 on the need to be courteous on how we refer to one of their parent companies and not talk about our salaries because we really can't say for sure if that's what is stalling the process and we don't want to create that impression that we take decisions based on mere speculation rather than fact. From the two bolded parts we can make a more concise mail and conclude by seeking for re-assurance that we have not been forgotten and if possible a reason behind the current delay.

I also agree that we chill a bit say till end of June before embarking on this.
So @majekdom2, freeradical and vantage7, please help reword these paragraphs so that we can have something more polite or should we simply expunge?

Secondly, can we have two or three more options so that we can compare. Let's not limit ourselves to this one.

"Before applying for this job in November 2013 some of us already participated in the NNPC recruitment that stalled since 2012 so we were nonchalant at first about another Nigerian recruitment. "

"Because of our keen interest, we have followed details of your announcement on anything financial and we believe that our annual remuneration which most likely is the reason for this delay when converted to USD is too insignificant at the moment relying on facts and figures from your company as a basis. (1USD/305NGN-Parallel market rate)".

"Sir, someone once spoke about this recruitment being debated on a radio and at the moment it seems like we are competing with NNPC for longest running recruitment. We believe we are better than this sir".
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dane15: 10:53am On May 05, 2016
My dear friend, if you notice, we have said the same thing but in different ways. It is good to read a post but better still when you fully understand the spirit of the post.
In spite of my draft epistle, I advocated patience and it is not as if everyone has even ratified the email yet.
First step is: Agreement on the details of the email.
Second Step: Everyone in agreement creates e-mail with their Moniker.
Third Step: E-mail is sent with everyone‘s moniker in copy. If you notice it is supposed to be a moderately worded e-mail and I see no reason why they will be averse to this.
This is supposed to be after Q2. About 10 Quarters after the advert. If people want to ask about the status of the recruitment in a Polite way I think they should be allowed to do so.
Then by November 2016, about 11 Quarters after, people can use their monikers to protest if they wish to on twitter. This is not the best solution but I really pray it doesn’t get to that.
I do not however believe that they will use the results of the protest to punish everyone including others who are not on social media. It will be totally anti-caring and against everything they represent.
About the NNPC issue, you can give us a reworded draft. In life there are 3 categories of people the “starters”, “the critiquers” and “the finishers”. The starters bring initiative to the table, the finishers complete it and “the critiquers” just do what their names suggest.
Whenever I have the privilege to be in a meeting, I always suggest no one critiques an idea without replacing it with a better one. A lot of people shout down an idea without any other reason than that the idea is bad.
Finally, there is a reason why staff recruitment is an investment decision and don’t you talk about the issue not being money. Every business is created to make profit no matter how caring their mission statement is.
Please let’s all be patient, I hear the rumblings of rain.

We have seen @Dfavouredone's draft. Any other drafts to compare with if not we go with that. @dane15 could do well in this area. I admire his writing skills.
Thanks for your faith in me @freeradical. I like the way we intend to go about the collective protest in a moderate way.

I doubt if NLNG can cancel the recruitment but we must be careful. I have been hearing some rumblings of rain before the end of the 6th month.

It's just that at the moment all these sauces can give person constipation.

My suggested timelines for Protest:

End of Q2-Moderate Request for position of matters through Email. (Twitter will cause bad market and publicity for them, make we leave am for now). Everyone can create an email address with their monikers which will be put in copy. We can create an email address with Online.Recruitment@domain.com which we will use to send the email or 2013 NLNG recruitment@domain.com.

3rd Anniversary- We can move to twitter, create twitter handles matching our monikers and then congratulate them for the longest running recruitment in Nigeria. We can paste the email below on their FB page if we wish:

The Managing Director,

Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria

Dear Sir,
RE: FEEDBACK ON GRADUATE TRAINEE RECRUITMENT

We are your prospective GTs and we am writing this letter to you with all humility and due respect believing it will get to you at the top.

Before applying for this job in November 2013 some of us already participated in the NNPC recruitment that stalled since 2012 so we were nonchalant at first about another Nigerian recruitment.

Some of us wrongly believed at the time that most Nigerian companies are birds of the same feather.
Some of us must have been among the last set of people to submit their resumes as we were more interested in sending the advert to our unemployed friends than in applying.

After applying, we read the facts and figures for 2013 and started to see that we made a very right choice by applying. The one that never ceases to touch us is when we read the profiles of the Management team and we are amazed to see a team of very intelligent people that have risen to the top through hard work and a track record of excellence. To know that this crop of the crème de la crème of Nigerian intellects will be the ones steering the company and also be our managers and bosses very soon is nothing short of thrilling.

You sir, started as a Chemistry and Mathematics Teacher to become the NLNG MD. This apparently is not by mistake as one can easily see from your profile that you handled key positions well in the past and made the best out of them, the DMD a very knowledgeable and widely experienced guru, GM- Production-Mr. Chima Isilebo, a man that truly represents excellence from what we have seen on his profile and we are not surprised he is in charge of the plant complex.

The GM-Commercial , Finance, External Relations, HR, NLNG Shipping, General Counsel equally have tremendously intimidating profiles and any of all profiles listed above can be used to motivate countless people anywhere in the world on how to reach the top through an excellent mindset.

This triggered our awareness in your company and after much research, we also found out that NLNG is a truly global company in terms of contribution to the Nigerian economy, community impact and staff welfare.

Our desire to become one of you grew from nonchalance to a wish and then to this big dream of ours.

Because of our keen interest, we have followed details of your announcement on anything financial and we believe that our annual remuneration which most likely is the reason for this delay when converted to USD is too insignificant at the moment relying on facts and figures from your company as a basis. (1USD/305NGN-Parallel market rate).

We also believe that judging from the quality of talents that have been exuded during our discussions on social media that the benefit of us resuming as quickly as possible will eventually exceed the cost even if the target recruits are not scaled down as the market price is cyclical in nature and will not remain at this level for too long.

Sir, it is widely reported that NLNG invested in assets up to the tune of $14bn even in the midst of lowering prices, our salaries at most over 35 years of service will most likely not top $420mn and the fact that with time we will be the ones that will be entrusted to manage the $14bn plus assets speaks volumes about our benefits to NLNG in the long run.

Sir, someone once spoke about this recruitment being debated on a radio and at the moment it seems like we are competing with NNPC for longest running recruitment. We believe we are better than this sir.

We are a global first class truly Nigerian company. We are pacesetters. We believe people should learn from NLNG on how to do things. We would like to appreciate the HR a lot under your guidance on how they have responded to uncertainties in this recruitment ranging from Ebola Virus to Oil price fluctuations.

We want to specially thank you for approving the takeoff of this recruitment and we truly believe that you will listen to our pleas and approve the wrap up of this recruitment.

We hope this gets to you some way, somehow and we hope it makes you smile.

Thanks for taking the pain to read our documented plea.

Your soon to be staff,
NLNG GTs 2013

A lot of energy is dissipated in the expression of emotions.

Some people can be seen to vibrate literally when angry.

Energy cannot be destroyed but can be transformed from anger catalysts to energy for something creative.

This NLNG wait is a big lesson on patience and I am still learning.

At the end of the day, what will be yours in this particular context will be yours, if it is to be yours. Afterall you have no control over the process.
