lrguru: one is S320 I6, and the other is S500 V8. I had always loved the Beast right from my secondary school days in '93 when my intro tech teacher talked about it in one of our classes then. He was describing the car as though it was his life. I fell in love instantly, and swore I must get the car and I did. The last time I drove a toyota 'camry and corolla' (my apologies to any one who drives one) the car was just vibrating like a tomato grinding machine. NOTE: the cars were all new, just that the dampers were not like that of a benz. I stopped driving after just a minute and asked the owner if the car had problem since the drive was not smooth and he said no, that the car is very smooth. I just shook my head and laughed and told him that if he ever drives a benz he will throw all this cars away.
W140 drives smooth as a plane even at 160km/hr Uncle... Even at 260km/h in my SL500, beastie was still asking for more, I finished the speedometer. It was still smooth and balance like "kilode" |

MsDelilah: No sir, I'm not married.
The W140 is my favourite Benz. The first time I read about it was in 1997, after Princess Diana's death (that was the car she had the accident in). I have so many videos of the W140. It's such a safe car. And the features... DAMN!
Is yours a V8 or a V12? Ahhh... Why you nor mention me na, , this is not fair oo, I missed |

Obiohai: ITS NOT TRUE I used a Mercedes-Benz c-class, it was a 4 cylinder engine and uses only 4 plugs. Or were the other plugs in the room ...oops! I mean the other engine? Mine uses double plug on each cylinder.

AgreatMan: If that speed is 160, I will do that in a golf 3. But if that is 260, then that's a lot, but I no dey SW. We need a racetrack in Lagos. I might still beat you tho, I don't rely on speed, every car can run. That's 260 sir. I really wish we could get on one but I doubt you'd beat me. Maybe you would...if you're better at Gymkhana than I am |

EgunMogaji: Okay. So she gave her life to protect you. That's an European car for you and why I love them.
Disclaimer, I have been toying with cars and bikes since the early 80's in Ibadan before I left for the US. If it runs on 4 wheels and has a combustion engine then I love it.
My auto site is NaijaDrives.Com yes she did ooo, i could have avert the incidence if i had kept her below the red line. i'll visit your site, i'm sure i'll find interesting stuff |

MsDelilah: Honey, it's not Toyota, or Honda, or Nissan o. That's a Mercedes-Benz!!!!
Danfuster, talk true. I'm sure, even at that speed, the car was begging for more! you know Benz as a way of taunting you when you think you've given it your all...the Beast keeps daring me for more. i like taking on cars on bends, that's when the K position rare wheel does it's job. |

EgunMogaji: I'll bet money that it was overrevving.
Danfuster, did this happen at over speed? my oga... na over revving oo, car entered emergency from Sagamu...i modified my previous post giving details how it happened. |

EgunMogaji: If true at all, 16 plugs is not a performance enhancement but a manufacturers ploy to get a cleaner burn for emissions purposes.
Anyways, I like how you aired out your crankcase
Gazzuzz come and see something, Mercedes owners dey shed tears too true with the Emboldened, i was curious when i knew about the 16 plugs and looked it up. you spot that hole on the side lol... that engine drove in Emergency from Shagamu to Isele Asagba by the steal factory doing 120-130km/h, engine gave way when trying to push it harder cos it was getting real dark so to avoid those road criminals. after installing the new Engine, we couldn't get a Car-electrician to rewire the new ECU and engine to start, so we used the Old ECU, Sensor, Coil wires were connected to the old coils and plugged to the spark plugs while leaving the new coil to fill the vacuum for the remaining one... in the real sense we used 8 plugs on 16 plug engine from Asaba back to Lagos. The engine burn freakingly rich, spent 17k on fuelling. the catalyst glow red the whole journey. took it to Ladipo and beastie got a make over |

Hopez456: Twale!!! even with over balanced chasis car, I can't put my life on the line. I salute you bro! FM1 awaits you. there's this confidence and safety vibe you get when you're driving a Benz, but you won't understand until you take one of this Beast for a spin. at that speed, it was still taunting me with..."is that all you got?" |
Car Talk › Re: What Do You Love/Enjoy About Driving? by Danfuster(m): 6:13pm On Jan 04, 2017 |
MsDelilah: That's definitely a Benz. What model? Looks like either the W140, or the W124. yes, it is a Benz R129 SL500 5.0L V8 326hp Roadster, that was one of my craziest doings. |

People sent their cover letters and CVs to their email that is all Lol... there was issue of rejected mails and that was due to technical error from them. After sometime it was corrected and majority of people resent their mail and it was delivered... A thread was even opened on that here I'm not saying you're lying but I don't believe that. I kept sending in for 2months all to no avail. |

EgunMogaji: And a bunch of other stuff too.
I haven't dynoed it and won't until I change to a bigger turbo and intercoler and go for a custom tune. Power is nothing without control.
Right now I'm working on the suspension. High performance sway bars, adjustable camber arms and coilovers.
I get my kicks from handling mostly and not just on raw power.
I have my bike for power when no prisoners needs to be taken Damn!...you're going to be a menace on the freeway with those upgrades. You're quite a Spartan at the emboldened |

EgunMogaji: You guys really need to expand your horizon. The smartphones in your hand is not limited to Nairaland only.
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/manual-transmissions-faster-than-automatics.gym
https://www.edmunds.com/fuel-economy/five-myths-about-stick-shifts.html
"It's no loss, says Ken Hill, a professional racer, driving educator and vice president of operations for Automotive Adventures in Bellevue, Washington. "Some people are stuck on the mindset that a driver is faster with a manual box," Hill says. But there's a reason why some major performance-car manufacturers, including Ferrari and Jaguar, no longer offer traditional manual transmissions, he says. "They just aren't as good." "
Most modern automatics are faster than manuals. Same car, same engine. Hence the tiptronic and paddle shifter... Some people just don't keep up , you just have to spoon feed and school some people |

1. I love that feel when I just had new tires and shocks on, there's this feel and sound it makes when flying over those potholes, like... "gbrim" 2. The feel and sounds when flying over those expansion joint on 3rd mainland bridge. I.e "pram-pram" 3. So...since I changed from a V8 8plugs to a V8 16plugs, things have been really different for me. The g-force got my body feeling like entering the sit. 4. I bully drivers on the freeway/interstate, once you do strong head when I try to overtake, I'll just pass you and give you the hazard light, if you take the bait. I'll string you along till we get to a corner and I'll show you why Benz has a K-leg back hassle. MsDelilah see wetin dey under my hood , hit me up when you get your W140

Chelseafan1: Share same sentiments too, on a serious note, I don't get why these lots are bashing them, calling them kids and all, it's a party for crying out loud, they were expected to go have fun, dance and feel free around one another, were these pple expecting them to just sit, drink, look like mumu and just go back home?? Vizkiz, just a quick suggestion for the next time, u can add more programs like truth or dare, twud make it more fun, stage a dance competition, a boy and girl, pick someone u wanna rock and all that, all in all, kudos to y'all. I dunno ow much y'all paid, but I think there shud be chops too, sauced meat and all, as una dey sip, deres meat or small chops to go with it.
The only part I'm not too cool with is the smoking and drugs, but that's just me, I don't expect everyone to be like me.
Next time, make sure whoever is gonna drive, do not drink in excess, to avoid stories that touch.
Blessed 2017 to us all. Bro... It sucks to be a driver at parties like this, next time... I'm calling a Uber or dedicated cab. |

GaggleNSwallow: No, that wasn't the idea. He really meant to collect them for chilling... of course, party and booze are synonymous. Unfortunately, the people that were supposed to bring the cooler couldn't make it in time. But even if we had left the drinks on the table, the haters would still find some other things to wail about. Got it bro. Saw where he explained. ireneony: how can people pay 3000 for see an empty table. it would ve been better if they had gone to more conducive place where one can easily order for drinks and food. I know they're a lot of cool place to hangout without paying for gate fee, even if they were to pay for gate fee, it woundnt cost more than 500 naira. Do you know that all that money they spent would've be used to buy drinks and food from a more tasteful location.
The best location for this would ve been a pool side party with everything in place. And definitely there will be drinks and foods in this kind of location.
How can someone pay 3000 naira and nothing to show for it. They still told them to bring their own drinks along with all that money My V8 Benz drank 6000 naira only, not to mention other stuff. am I complaining...No! .you can't be behind the fence and make such decision. Stop acting pained. |
