Chigold101: There was no reason for the lockdown in Nigeria. Nigeria is just doing what they see other countries of the world doing and they just joined them. It's just about copy and paste. . Lets assume we have the the virus, what would be the essence of the lockdown? |
Politics › Re: COVID-19: Yahaya Bello Orders Lockdown In Kogi by dangermouse(m): 2:34pm On Jun 01, 2020 |
Chigold101:
In Africa you stop people from moving house to house?
If Nigeria really have the cases of Covid-19 as it is being touted, we all would be isolated by now.
But the truth is Yahaya Bello, wants to punish those people for lying along side NCDC . What is the main reason for the lockdown in the first place? |
Politics › Re: COVID-19: Yahaya Bello Orders Lockdown In Kogi by dangermouse(m): 1:43pm On Jun 01, 2020 |
Chigold101: which reality? He is giving it back to them....
They accepted that Covid-19 is in their town so they all should be isolated in their houses.
Did you see "no house to house movement?"
That's punishment not Covid-19 anything moving house to house still defeats the purpose, which is to curb the transmission of the diesease. The main reason for the lockdown in the first place. |

omonnakoda: I wrote them I don't need to read them you reread them If you misunderstand ask for clarification. I specifically made clear on this thread that Onitsha is not the only point on the River and asked why not Kebbi or Niger states

omonnakoda: So why not have a seaport in those states I mentioned
I am NOT THE ONE talking as if the Niger starts and ends in Onitsha. If you can comprehend simple English you would see I am saying the exact opposite Lol. Read ur previous posts bro along with my replies. |
Politics › Re: Update On Onitsha 2nd Niger Bridge- PICTURES by dangermouse(m): 3:07pm On May 30, 2020 |
omonnakoda: Imported goods? That we pay for with oil dollars? Is there no vision beyond importation?
Even with that why not develop Ports in Bayelsa, Rivers ,Cross River or Akwa Ibom?
So those states don't need growth and development? They are cheerleaders? They should sacrifice their own safety for Onitsha. What is needed is to boost seaports that will serve the Eastern part of the country all the way to Maiduguri. The sensible way to do that is a coastal Port linked by rail to dry ports.
Yes Onitsha has a dock for barges and such like but it will not be dredged for ocean going vessels That is just fantasy
Let us do the obvious before doing the mystical . No matter how industrialised we become 2moro, we will continue to import goods. China, America etc, still does till 2moro. Did u hear me say the cities u mentioned shld be left behind? U are talking as if the Niger starts and ends at onitsha. |

michaelogenyi: True talk. Onitsha PORT is already in place, once JB complete the bridge, it will start operation . Goods will become cheaper n new jobs created, thereby stimulating eonomic growth. The cost of transporting containers to dry seaports will only inflate price of the imported goods. |

Klass99: She should have done so sooner.
I read previous allegations brought against that officer and I cringed at how he was so full of cruelty.
The wife tried, staying with him this long. But I also wonder, what happened to, for better for worse?
I don't blame her for leaving though. Its her choice. She must have been condoling with her husbands cruel nature for long. This last act broke the camels back for her. The husband intentionally murdered that man as can be seen from the recorded video. |
Politics › Re: Update On Onitsha 2nd Niger Bridge- PICTURES by dangermouse(m): 12:54pm On May 30, 2020 |
omonnakoda: I don't think that is necessary Why not develop ports in Bayelsa, Rivers Akwa Ibom or Cross River and then a dry port by rail.
From the perspective of Bayelsa or Rivers ir sounds like a very selfish idea 1. It would deny them Port opportunity but also 2. The environmental impact of dredging would be borne by them in terms of flooding ,loss of fishing livelihood etc Think not just of Onitsha but others as well. Dredging is not a one time thing,it would have to be topped up regularly
I think all those advocating dredging think quite selfishly of their importing business to Onitsha, Onitsha is not the only place on the Niger why not dredge all the way to Kebbi state and along the course of the Benue River. It is a poor vision that sees Nigeria importing for ever.We want to manufacture too
Nigeria cannot import for ever I disagree. Lagos ports need 2 be decongested by opeaning up new ports. The economy stands to gain tremendously |
