Ebubu: Please hold them accountable not to the detriment of me a student. They are fighting for a better standard of education for you and other students. Ever wondered why our Nigerian universities are ranked low as per international standards? We keep on churning out half baked graduates who at the end are unemployable . Your mates elsewhere are far ahead of you. Is this how you want to end up? |

Ebubu: Please please please they should stop holding someone’s future into ransom.
Final year kids have been in final year for two years.
No federal school has admitted last year’s jambite. Not to mention this year, next year jamb is coming up!
And you want to continue strike ? No way!
CONUA will soon start floating registration processes. If you like, don’t register. Hope you have another source of income by time ASUU is proscribed, since you don’t want to apply reasoning, but opt to keep holding kids by ransom like the kidnapped train passengers. I am not holding brief for ASUU or the government, but a working government should negotiate with any striking sect. Cutting corners is detrimental to the country. Just like advocating for another counter government when the one in place is not working. Wount the government see that as a treasonable offence? They did it with NLC and ever since then, they have not being able to oppose government policies detrimental to you and I. Its the masses that still suffers the after consequences of these actions. We should learn to hold those elected officers accountable no matter what. Have you tried to get an objective view and reason why this strike is lingering? |
Education › Re: Register Our Union Now, ASUU’s Rival, CONUA Tells FG by dangermouse(m): 10:53am On Aug 22, 2022 |
Ebubu: The same ASUU you are defending here, are used by politicians to rig elections. They are all drafted from across different universities to answer Returning Officer during voting, they are the officials who announce collated votes. They are always compromised by the ruling party.
How can you aid the ascension of an unpopular party and candidate to power then exempt yourself from the catastrophe they’ll embark on ? Selfish lots.
They should stop holding millions of students to ransom. Some people have been in final year for 2 good years now. Mmmm. Dont want to believe you are serious with this your assertion. Very myopic I must say. That politicians hand pick individuals from thier union who are willing tools to thoer scheme is not a yard stick for you to use. Nigerian Police are corrupt right? Its a common parlance, but we know thier are good policemen out there doing our country good and its wrong and false saying that Nigerian police are corrupt. Hope you get it? |

JJuanMiguel: You are just buttressing my point. ASUU had hoped that they could use the forthcoming election as their wild card. APC would rather bank on bribery and rigging to win. Not now and never. Nigerians earnestly yearn for better government now more than ever. Buhari should be carefully not to let that happen as it would leave a deep scar in the country if tit remains one afterwards. People are sick abd tired the way things are in Nigeria |

Ebubu: You want to use through strike and get politicians salaries slashed to fund ASUU ? Forgetting you’re mortgaging someone else’s future. Millions of people for that matter.
Why not join politics, float a party, win, and do that ? That way, no millions of students would be held ransom. I never said that. Just pointed out the abnormalities. I do not have to do as you suggested, but rather vote in credible candidates who has such on thier manifestos. Reason why we should start engaging properly with prospective electoral candidates. |
Education › Re: Register Our Union Now, ASUU’s Rival, CONUA Tells FG by dangermouse(m): 9:55am On Aug 22, 2022 |
JJuanMiguel: Let's not lie to ourselves, if it's indeed affecting the government the strike wouldn't have lasted more than one week. When bandits invaded Abuja, did you see the kind of sophisticated weapons and elite soldiers FG sent after them? That's how they treat matters that's related to them, but they've been sending 6 months recruits with rusty AK 47 to other regions for more than one decade to combat terrorism. You can just say ASUU have no other ideas.
You said it's affecting the government because tertiary institutions are at a standstill, let me ask you then. How is the fact that tertiary institutions are at a standstill affecting the government? ASUU can stay home for two years, ASUU, students and parents will be the losers while FG will be doing their thing as usual. Its affecting them quite right but they have chosen to be callous. No government would be be happy seeing such strike last for this long if not callousness. We know the government we have in place now and its not a surprise to many Nigerians. They always pay lip service to pressing issues and would rather resort to blame games to defflect thier in abilities to others. If you have not seen this then maybe you are not in Nigeria. |

JJuanMiguel: But how effective is this strike? How is it affecting the government to warrant reasonable feedback from them? Strike is the only legitimate tool they have ti press thier demands and the government would be callous if they take it away from them. Negotiations remain the only avenue the government can use. And yes the government are veing affected cos the tertiary institution is at a standstill. The students are mostly affected by the way but all ASUU is asking is for a better education system that would benefit both the government, the students and they themselves. For a better education environment. |

Ebubu: FG please register them and ask all lecturers willing to teach to port from ASUU and register with CONUA, resume lectures and start collecting salary.
If they are insufficient in number, float job vacancies and absorb new lecturers, many unemployed MSc holders.
This should be done as soon as possible. ASUU are terrorists holding kids to ransom. Final year students have been in final year for two years now. Not holding brief for anybody, but dont you think this your idea is counter productive? The Government allocate huge salaries etc to elected and non elected officers who are there to serve the people and the lecturers and civil servants who has risen through the ranks and files are being paid peanuts. Dont you think its appalling? The Government should rather cut the cost of governance and channel the monies into other productive ventures. Do I need to tell you that no other country practices democracy as expensive as Nigeria Government in terms of salaroes paid to elected officers in government. We should start from there. Our leaders are just callous and insensitive to the plight of Nigerian workers. |

If the billboard was pulled down by let's say "angry mob"..... there's no way the image and parts of the board will still remain un-torn.

We all are witnesses on how Buhari through his acrions and inactions plunged this country into a mess that it is today partly because of his old age and ailments associated with it. Granted everybody falls sick and all that, but trusting the faith of millions of Nigerians in the hands of such a person is too risky owing on how tje country is today. Can you in all honesty trust your life in a drivers hand, on a long journey, who is sick? Dont you see the journey would be frought with so many hiccups and uncertainties, slow, unpleasant and that you might end up not reaching your destination? |

Yes, he had his surgery in the US and from there proceeded to the UK to recuperate.
It was in the UK that all the well wishers including Mr. President met with him.
