oliidell: Father Founder! Father Chancellor!!
My brief stay in that school is filled with an unequal blend of bittersweet memories.
The school just got started and I was very young. There were about 10 structures then; Admin block, Hostel E & F (boys), Aso Rock, Library, Guest House/Prison, Classroom, Cafeteria, Uptown, Convent, White house...I think.
I remember the morning exercises with Fr. Edeh; The tasteless food served at the cafeteria; Being oppressed by security men (Papa Ejima esp.); Going to the pilgrimage centre at Elele (we weren't forced); Scaling the fence near girls hostel to attend parties off K; Being chased by CSO from 'black street';
I remember Mr. Duru, Aunty Philo, Prof. Onukwube, Handsome Jerry, Miss. Franca (my sweethrt), Mr. Chukwuma etc.
Tin-tin, Mike Okiro, Obinna Okwelume, Naughty choice, Ruff-dogg, Combless & the rest of the crew who made things happen back then, I hail. Aunty philo has gone o |

Career › Re: I Have This Amazing Business Idea, But Scared To Quit My Job! by danidee10(m): 10:06pm On Apr 25, 2017 |
AimingIncognito: I have this fantastic business idea i've been thinking about for almost 2years but i'm super scared of quitting my job and venture into the business.
I actually took the job to save up for the business but along the line my dad advised i buy a land around one higher instutition in my state and build student hostels, so each time i save up to the require amount to set up this business,i develop cold feet and i end up using the money to develop the site.
I'm so into this business or let me put it this way: the business is so into me that i could search the internet for 5hrs Straight(mid-night,midday, on the move, in the office, anywhere and everyone- that is the only thing i think about),it got so bad that the only thing i gist my friends about is this biz.
Its almost 5am and i'm still wide-awake thinking and writing stuffs down about the biz logistics(its that bad)
My fam are a bit skeptical about quitting my job(when good jobs are hard to comeby) and starting a new biz. Also, i think they are just reasoning like a typical african parent by saying 'what if you set up with all you have in lagos and you end up settling down in another state?
I can't even think straight because once i clear my account again for my hostel project, i would hv to start saving allover again.
The probability that the biz would be a hit is 80%, but IF 'idea hackers' overtake me kpere! temibami niyen! I'm not too bothered abt 'idea hackers' really, nigeria population is too big for one person to monopolise an idea.
What should i do pls?
***i can't do both(office job and the business) It won't work You're not ready if you're ready you'll quit and start working on ur idea. The worst that'll happen is that you'll fail and probably return to ur papa house But there are worse things in life (e.g being an IDP in the North East) So don't be scared....DO IT!!!! |

Daboomb: Thank you jare, you are the kind of people that should be on this forum.
One question...One answer.
The other guy l quoted was all abuse and no valid points.
@bolded: Dont you think it is a good idea that People actually should open their Bible and read, cross-check what the Pastor/father is saying, directly from the Bible instead of relying on the Bulletin/Misal?
Like all other churches have Public display (Large Screens) in their church but they still have to open their Bible and check what the Pastor is quoting, making sure it is exactly so in the Bible. Yes it's a good idea, but i guess most people are too lazy and also trust everything that's written in the bulletin. Personally i don't bother to confirm, because I've done that in the past and i found out that it's the same thing. It might not be the exact same words if you're using a different bible, then i used my secondary school's bible then (I can't remember the name again but we bought it for CRK because it was cheap) but the message the reading passed was always the same. And since then I've not heard or read any weird thing in the bulletin. If i ever do i'll note down the verse and confirm from my bible when i get back to my house. |

2shur: U don eva see catholic dey read bible Have u ever been to a catholic church before? or its "dem say dem say". FYI I'm a catholic and I read my bible regularly, have u heard a charismatic union of Nigeria member preach before and how they quote Bible verses? If they don't read their Bibles how do they quote verses from it. The reasons why most Catholics don't carry their bibles to church is because the reading of the day is already in the bulletin or missal (if u have one). If you don't have money to buy one u can still carry ur Bible and use it |

It is because we we have refused to think objectively that's why we end up with spiritual grass cutters that cut grass In a semi desert in the the dry season with 270 million box , 8 different foreign exchange rates for just one country , jobs that only exist in the imagination of a government image maker.
