Romance / 5 Ways Technology Is Affecting Your S*x Life by danielayodele16(m): 12:43am On Apr 28, 2015
In an interview with BBC, Dr. Cath Mercer explained, “modern technologies are behind the trend…People have tablets and smartphones and they are taking them into the bedroom, using Twitter and Facebook, answering emails.”

Dr. Meagan Tyler, author of “Selling s*x Short”, points out, “Technology is affecting all kinds of social interactions. You interrupt face-to-face conversations to answer your mobile or reply to a text. Why would s*x be any different?”
Technology is obviously here to stay, so what can you do to fix this problem? Here are a few suggestions:
1. Make your bed a wireless zone
When you head into your bedroom, turn off your lap tops, iPads, cell phones, etc. Many marriage and family therapists recommend reserving your bed for intimacy, connection and sleep. Unplug your television and move it to another room. It’s a sad day when surveys show that people would rather give up s*x in exchange for a new plasma TV.
2. Get a grip on your daily usage
If you deal with cell phone anxiety, you have a problem. Brian Alexander, author of “America Unzipped: In Search of s*x and Satisfaction” explains, “It’s tough to look forward to, or enjoy, s*x if you are anxious.” If you’re too attached to your cell phone that you can’t even go an hour without checking it, then you need to figure out a way to get rid of that anxiety.
3. Leave work at work
Set a goal to stop checking and answering emails after 7 p.m. It’ll do wonders for your relationship and work-life balance. In fact, according to the Harvard Business Review, your late-night emails are probably hurting your team’s engagement and performance, so cutting down will help your overall productivity.
4. Get help for your p****graphy problem
If one or both of you have a p****graphy problem, you need to get help. According to Fight the New Drug, studies have shown that “P0*n often leads to less s*x and less satisfying s*x. And for many users, P0*n eventually means no s*x at all.” No matter how hard to you try to justify it, p****graphy is a destructive habit that will hurt your relationship.
5. Put it on the schedule
If you aren’t making s*x a priority, then schedule it in. Set up a specific date and time with your spouse, and then protect it. Put the kids to bed early. Book a hotel room, if you need it. Go out on a date and have a real conversation — uninterrupted by any potential distractions. Make it a priority to make genuine connections with your spouse.

TEN CRITICAL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND POSSIBLE WAYS TO ANSWER THEM

TEN CRITICAL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND POSSIBLE WAYS TO ANSWER THEM

# 1: "Tell me about yourself."
This is usually the opening question in an interview and it's the perfect moment for you to toot your own horn -- not to tell your life history. Your answers should be a quick rundown of your qualifications and experience. Talk about your education, work history, recent career experience and future goals.

Suggested answer: "I graduated from University X and since then, I have been working in public relations with an agency where I have generated millions of PR hits for my clients. While I've enjoyed working on the agency side, I'm looking to expand my horizons and start doing PR for corporate companies such as this one."
Don't Miss

*. When you don't fit in at work

#2: "Why did you leave your last job?"
This is your chance to talk about your experience and your career goals, not to bad mouth a former boss or give a laundry list of reasons for your exit. Instead, focus on what you learned in your previous position and how you are ready to use those skills in a new position.
Suggested answer: "The company just wasn't a good fit for my creativity, but I learned that organizations have distinct personalities just like people do. Now I know where I'll be a better fit."

#3: "Where do you see yourself in five years?"
Let the employer know that you're stable and you want to be with this company for the long haul. Keep your aspirations to take over the firm with which you are interviewing, own your own company, retire at 40 or be married with five children to yourself.
Suggested answer: "I want to secure a civil engineering position with a national firm that concentrates on retail development. Ideally, I would like to work for a young company, such as this one, so I can get in on the ground floor and take advantage of all the opportunities a growing firm has to offer."

4: "What are your weaknesses?"
The key to answering this age-old questions not to respond literally. Your future employer most likely won't care if your weak spot is that you can't cook, nor do they want to hear the generic responses, like you're "too detail oriented" or "work too hard."
Respond to this query by identifying areas in your work where you can improve and figure out how they can be assets to a future employer. If you didn't have the opportunity to develop certain skills at your previous job, explain how eager you are to gain that skill in a new position.
Suggested answer: "In my last position, I wasn't able to develop my public-speaking skills. I'd really like to be able to work in a place that will help me get better at giving presentations and talking in front of others."

# 5: "Why were you laid off?"
This question will become more common as the economy continues to slow down. It's a tough question, however, especially because many workers aren't told exactly why they were laid off. The best way to tackle this question is to answer as honestly as possible.
Suggested answer: "As I'm sure you're aware, the economy is tough right now and my company felt the effects of it. I was part of a large staff reduction and that's really all I know. I am confident, however, that it had nothing to do with my job performance, as exemplified by my accomplishments. For example..."

#6: "Tell me about the worst boss you ever had."
Never, ever talk badly about your past bosses. A potential boss will anticipate that you'll talk about him or her in the same manner somewhere down the line.
Suggested answer: "While none of my past bosses were awful, there are some who taught me more than others did. I've definitely learned what types of management styles I work with the best."

# 7: "How would others describe you?"
You should always be asking for feedback from your colleagues and supervisors in order to gauge your performance; this way,you can honestly answer the question based on their comments. Keep track of the feedback to be able to give to an employer, if asked. Doing so will also help you identify strengths and weaknesses.
Suggested answer: "My former colleagues have said that I'm easy to do business with and that I always hit the ground running with new projects. I have more specific feedback with me, if you'd like to take a look at it."

# 8: "What can you offer me that another person can't?"
This is when you talk about your record of getting things done. Go into specifics from your resume and portfolio; show an employer your value and how you'd be an asset.
Suggested answer: "I'm the best person for the job. I know there are other candidates who could fill this position, but my passion for excellence sets me apart from the pack. I am committed to always producing the best results. For example..."

# 9 : "If you could choose any company to work for, where would you go?"
Never say that you would choose any company other than the one where you are interviewing. Talk about the job and the company for which you are being interviewed.
Suggested answer: "I wouldn't have applied bfor this position if I didn't sincerely want to work with your organization." Continue with specific examples of why you respect the company with which you are interviewing and why you'll be a good fit.

# 10: "Would you be willing to take a salary cut?"
Salary is a delicate topic. In today's tough economy though, how much a company can afford to pay you might be the deal breaker in whether or not you are offered a position. Suggested answer: "I'm making $X now. I understand that the salary range for this position is $XX - $XX. Like most people, I would like to improve on my salary, but I'm more interested in the job itself than the money. I would be open to negotiating a lower starting salary but would hope that we can revisit the subject in a few months after I've proved myself to you."

Politics / Finding A Common Ground In Today’s Supplementary Polls by danielayodele16(m): 12:24am On Apr 25, 2015
Left to either of them, today’s polls are inconsequential. They both won the first election on April 11. And today’s supplementary election makes no sense to them.
This was the position of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, at the last count. But because, the independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had taken a decision and announced the rerun, both parties swallowed hard. Their resolve to partake in the run was reluctant as each of them continued to lay claim of the victory of the previous election.
A Professor’s double-speak
Controversy started when mid way into the collation of results, the State Returning Officer, Professor Benjamin Ozumba who is incidentally the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, canceled the election in three local government areas namely Osisioma Ngwa, Obingwa and Isialangwa Local Governments, citing irregularities.
He was later to reverse himself to the chagrin of all and sundry. Yet in another breathe, the election was declared inconclusive. Days after, a new date, which is today was fixed for the supplementary election holding in some polling units across 9 local government areas.
The new battle grounds are: Aba North, Aba South,Ikwuano, Ohafia, Osisioma, Ugwunagbo, Umuahia South, Umuahia North and Umunneochi. Meanwhile, in the approved results, Ikpeazu of PDP polled  248,  459, while Dr. Alex Otti  of APGA got  165, 406 votes, leaving APGA trailing by 83,053. Baring his mind on the supplementary election, Ikpeazu said it was INEC that has forced them back to the field.
Ikpeazu’s grouse
“We won that election but they have asked for a re-run in certain areas they have cancelled at the state level. We are watching to see what those who sent them to Abia will do about it.
APGA and APC’s stand
Similarly, in an interview with Journalists, the national chairman of the APGA, Chief Victor Umeh said APGA won the election. But while both parties bicker, their APC counter-part, Dr. Anyim Nyerere has taken a diffident position. Even though, they are going back to the contest, Nyerere doesn’t want the election to hold. Therefore, he has requested for outright cancellation of the elections, saying that what transpired on April 11 was a rigging competition between APGA and PDP. According to him, the will of the people did not prevail in the polls.
He said: “With due respect I don’t know if I might sound out of context not to refer it as an election. I will say it was a rigging competition in Abia state because there is a difference between election and rigging. What actually took place in Abia state on the 11th  of April was not election but rigging because everything that has to do with election was quite absent.”The competition was between APGA and PDP. You see, we are talking about a situation in this time of our democratic dispensation were in most polling units, there were no result sheets. In most polling units ballot boxes were snatched with impunity. I don’t think it happened elsewhere because the degree of lawlessness, impunity in Abia state, I don’t think any other part of the country witnessed such.”
Nyerere also accused INEC officials and security of aiding and abetting unfortunate situation, saying it was responsible for the present crisis in the state.
“They just bugled the whole results straight to the local government headquarters where fierce looking security men just allowed few people they wanted inside the hall. Agents of other parties especially the APC agents were never allowed to come near until they finished whatever they wanted to do.”They are covering up something and those things by God’s grace will be exposed one day”, he said.
Nyerere maintained that no single local government area in the state could be isolated from massive malpractice, even as he called for total cancellation of the election. “So the only path of honour is to have the election cancelled. Where will you spare? The 17 local government areas had the same problems; one polling unit, two polling units in all the wards had irregularities. We went to the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission telling them our position, describing in details what actually transpired and what I expect them to do is to investigate and as I have said, the only path of honour for INEC is to cancel the election and start it all over.”

Politics / Assistant Superintendent Of Police, Two Others Gun Down By Alleged Cow Rustlers by danielayodele16(m): 7:30pm On Apr 23, 2015
MAKURDI – An Assistant Superintendent of Police , ASP, Baba Ibrahim and a cattle herder, Gambo Muhammed and a yet to be identified cattle breeder, have been reportedly killed by unknown armed men in Katsina-Ala Local government area of Benue state.

Vanguard gathered yesterday from an eyewitness that the deceased Seniour Police officer, who until his death was a member of the Task Force on Cattle Rustling and Kidnapping at the Force Headquaters in Abuja, met his death while on an official duty in the state.

According to our source, “few days ago, some youths who are known for cow rustling and kidnapping along Tor-Donga in Katsina-Ala, went to Takum in Taraba State and stole over 2,000 cow wich they brought for sale at their base in Katsina-Ala.

“The matter was reported at the Takum Divisional Police Office, but they declined jurisdiction and the matter was transferred to Katsina-Ala where six suspects were arrested but thereafter granted bail.

“Irked by the decision of the Police to avail the suspects bail, the cow owner petitioned the Inspector General of Police, IGP, who drafted members of the Task Force on Cattle Rustling and Kidnapping at the Force Headquaters to handle the matter.

“Unfortunately, on getting to Katsina-Ala to dig into the matter, the team including police officers, the cow owner and is team were waylaid, came under heavy gunfire attack by armed men just few kilometers to the Katsina-Ala Police station.

“Leaders of the crack team, ASP Baba Ibrahim and cattle herder, Gambo Muhammed and another cattle breeder were instantly killed while several other Police officers on the team sustained varying degrees of bullet injuries.”

Vanguard learnt that the injured Police officers were receiving treatment at a public hospital in the town.

When contacted, the Benue State Police Commissioner, Mr. Hyacinth Dagala who confirmed the killings, lamented that it could have been carried out by gangs of cattle rustlers in the area.

He said that the matter would be thoroughly investigated adding that the police was already on the trail of the masterminds of the dastardly attack.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/assistant-superintendent-of-police-two-others-gun-down-by-alleged-cow-rustlers-in-benue/

btw

This is my testimony and I have promised myself to share it.

I attended a youth programme and a young speaker, Cas David was invited to speak on the topic, "How a youth can flourish in an old world".
Nice

Honestly from then, I have always taken the right decisions and things have always turned out right for me. I never expected such dramatic change. But thank God I am a testimony.
I didn't really know much that young man until that day. Now, if I have anything to do with youth programmes, workshops or seminars, I will invite him. I think He knows how to pass the messages to the young people.

I saw his email in one of his books, "The Mystery of Youthfulness", {mailcasdavid@yahoo.com}. Mail him and invite him for any youth programme and you won't regret it.

Cheers smiley
Celebrities / I Once Worked As A Bricklayer To Survive – Reekado Banks by danielayodele16(m): 7:01pm On Apr 23, 2015
As a prominent young Nigerian artiste, Reekado Banks has worked with the cream of the Nigerian music industry including Don Jazzy, Illbliss, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Korede Bello, Di’Ja and Wale. The story of his rise to prominence however, has not been smooth, as the Mavin Records recording artiste disclosed during a #MySuperStarStory interview.

Reekado-Banks
Born Solomon Ayoleyi Hanniel, the Ondo State indigene revealed that after informing his parents of his intention to pursue a career in music and getting their blessing, he had to hawk blenders in traffic and work as a manual labourer at a construction site in a bid to earn some money to use to record.

He also revealed that at one point, a lecturer at the university told him that he will never make it after preventing him from retaking a test he missed.

His turning point came with the Mavin Records audition where he was picked out of over 5,000 hopefuls. The dreadlocked act, now popular for his ballad  “Katapot”  credited this triumph to God. In his words, “There is no amount of sacrifice that was enough to get me something this big.”http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/i-once-worked-as-a-bricklayer-to-survive-reekado-banks/

Celebrities / Don’t Believe The Bible On Sex – Queeneth Hilbert by danielayodele16(m): 6:01pm On Apr 23, 2015
Many writers have described Queeneth Hilbert as the most beautiful actress in Nigeria. Right or wrong, the model turned screen goddess is unquestionably beautiful with a touch of class about her.

When I first interviewed her I felt an air of derision about her towards men but she was quick to tell me she has nothing against them although she has had her share of bad experiences with men.

“ When I was trying to establish myself as a model, every man I met wanted something from me. In this country, most men you meet don’t want to do anything for you unless you are ready to offer sex. Only very few men are nice. I don’t know if it happens like that to other women but for me, it has and that doesn’t mean I have anything against men. I don’t” she says

And her feelings haven’t affected her desirability to have sex with the opposite sex. “Well, you see someone and you feel this guy will be good in bed, fine, go ahead and have it. Sex is something you can have if you feel good about it. I don’t believe all those Bible stuffs about sex” she quips.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/i-dont-believe-the-bible-on-sex-queeneth-hilbert/#sthash.x9GRukHW.dpuf
Romance / Every Woman's Worst Enemy In Life by danielayodele16(m): 11:46pm On Apr 22, 2015
When I hear females saying things along the lines of "I'm not friends with too many women because they're too much drama," I can't help but cringe. After years of experiencing all kinds of female friendships both good and bad, I've asked myself the same question over and over again. Why do women hate each other?
The truth is, most females, no matter how old they are will tell you that they've survived at least one type of mean girl in their past. Whether it was a situation that dealt with putting someone down, being dismissed, ignored or even socially tormented, they all seem to boil down to one thing- hatred. I just don't understand it.

For some people they say that it has gotten worse in the past few years considering the increase in bullying, but this issue has been around for ages.

Most women had one thing in common: they had great pain when they gave birth to their children. This should make a bond that held them together, it should make them love and protect each other against the man-world. But it was not so. It seemed like their great birth pains shrank their hearts and their souls. They stuck together for only one thing- to trample on some other woman…whether it was by throwing stones or mean gossip. It was the only kind of loyalty they seemed to have. As long as I live, I will never have a woman for a friend. I will never trust any woman again, except maybe mama."

If this doesn't break your heart, I have no words for you. Why do some of us seemingly hate our own gender? As women we should be allies to each other, not be taught to hate and compete with each other. Why should this be the case?

There's just a plethora of confusion that makes absolutely no sense. Honestly, I think the hatred for other women comes from within. Once a woman hates herself, it's easy to get her to hate another woman. I say this because if a woman who hates herself sees a woman who seemingly doesn't hate herself, it's easy to project the internalized negativity onto her. Think about it. How many times have you heard, "Who does she think she is?" "She's not all that anyway" "Why is she so full of herself?" This is true for all humans, not just women. It is human nature.

It pains me to think that we have this mentality. Society has us pitted against each other and seems to want to keep us from being whole and healthy as individuals and as a group. We should be and need to be celebrated by each other so that we can stand united and fight against injustice toward our gender. Women should empower each other instead of being so hateful towards each other.

This feels like an uphill battle, but I believe that we can and will be able to make it to the top. It starts by loving ourselves and loving each other http://www.enekem.com/2015/04/must-read-every-womans-worst-enemy-in.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
