ABUJA- FORMER Federal Commissioner for Information and South South leader, Chief Edwin Clark yesterday condemned in very strong terms, the presentation of Certificate of Commendation by the President of the United States of America, President Barrack Obama to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega. Speaking to Journalists yesterday in Abuja, Chief Clark stressed that the presentation of a ‘Certificate of Commendation’ to Jega over the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections March 28th, 2015 with the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls yet to be conducted was too hasty, Clark who urged the US to leave Nigeria alone, said that Nigeria remains an independent country capable of doing its things, its own way and not according to the dictates of the western world, adding, ” I was surprised that Barack Obama gave Professor Attahiru Jega an award when the elections are still on . Obama should be tactful in handling the affairs of Africa. US should leave us alone, Nigeria is an Independent country. They tried it Egypt, they should not try anything in Nigeria, President Obama who presented the certificate to Jega, would be recalled was represented by the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle. The ‘Certificate of Commendation’ was awarded to Jega for his outstanding and sterling performance in conducting a credible election. Obama said what Prof. Jega has done should be replicated by all. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/clark-condemns-obama-over-presentation-of-certificate-of-commendation-to-jega/#sthash.9vrjbRNf.dpuf |

A Needless Public Holiday & Victory Party: After declaring today a public holiday in Edo state following the victory of the APC in the Presidential election, the Governor of Edo State Comrade Adams Oshiomhole packed the good people of Edo State into the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium like sardine for a party tagged "APC VICTORY PARTY EDO STATE" Various amateur Comedians from the state had a field day clowning on stage to the delight of the non smiling crowd. Honorable Patrick Obahiagbon also put up a stage appearance clowning as the Comrade Governor grins from teeth to teeth. There are better ways to spend the people taxes! Or is the Comrade Governor picking the bill from his pocket? My guess is that the payers of taxes are writing off the millions that was expended on this circus! #OshioBabaYouFallMyHand #BabaTellOtherAPCGovernorsNot2WasteTaxPayersMoneyLikeThis Dazzol |
Nigeria’s president-elect Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sought to reconcile past differences with incumbent Goodluck Jonathan, extending a hand of friendship to his beaten election opponent. “Let me state clearly: President Jonathan has nothing to fear from me,” he said in Abuja after his victory was confirmed in the early hours. “He is a great Nigerian and still our president.” He added: “Democracy and the rule of law will be established in the land. Let’s put the past behind us, especially the recent past. We must forget our old battles and past grievances and forge ahead.” - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/jonathan-has-nothing-to-fear-from-me-buhari/#sthash.Gu9VmSLs.49YMZGA6.dpuf |

Attention please! The Right Choices. The Right Choice. Nigeria is a nation at a crossroads. It is blessed with abundant natural and human resources, but the right choices need to be made to turn them into health, wealth and progress for all its people. Poor leadership over much of the past 50 years has wasted time and opportunity to make that progress. We can not afford 50 more directionless years. The obvious challenges that we face are not difficult things to fix, it is only the will to do them that has been lacking. Electricity, water and roads are not the challenges of the 21st century; they're the solved problems of the twentieth! We need leadership with vision, prepared to ask difficult questions of themselves and of us, and then chart a bold path toward a bright future. We need to secure the lives and property of all Nigerian citizens. We need to revitalize dormant industries and encourage the birth of new ones. We need to restore our institutions to world standard—and then raise the standard. We need government that works. We need to make merit and excellence the global reputation of Nigeria. We need to aggressively educate, prepare, train and engage our youth. They are our future. We have work to do. That is why I am here. My name is Remi Sonaiya, and I want your vote for President of Nigeria. Let me work for you. |
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jegahas said that the results of the general elections will be released within 48 hours. Nigeria’s Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold tomorrow, Saturday, March 28. Jega stated this on Friday, March 27, during a joint press briefing with the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC),Johnson Olawumi. Jega also said that INEC had put everything in place to ensure that the elections are hitch free. The INEC Chairman also said that voting will take place in 119,973 polling units across the country. |

stanogb:We need total change |
Why is nobody talking about her??This is the#changewe need.If we are seriously tired of the 16years of PDP.. then we wouldn't vote a party that has those same people who contributed to the"failed" 16years y'all talking about.Try your luck isnt change...Anyone who wants change should try a new party ..and having a woman as the president of Nigeria is also CHANGE.Look at the people behind Buhari....all from the same pdp most of you want to change.I just hope Kowa and some other parties come together to form a new political party to kick PDP and APC out...PDP and APC are the same but with different slogans... when GEJ isdone with PDP he can as well go and chill with APC just has Atiku and others did...#Change isnt try your luck. Change is total change. How can you go back to your ex and call it change? Mbanu
