Don’t Sell What EVERYONE is Selling

Selling what everyone is selling is stressful.

You’ll have to keep fighting for space and relevance in the over crowded marketplace.

Also, if they aren’t adding much value to the marketplace, you’ll be seen in the same light.

No offense intended, the average Nigerian politician (or government official) is stereotyped a thief.

How do you know what the market wants?

Stop Pitching, Start Building

How about you put your everyday pitching on hold and start building a loyal customer base.

People really hate being sold to.

You’ll have to lure them into buying.

And that can’t happen if you’re too salesy.

How about you quit with the “right now” mentality and adopt the “for future purposes” mentality.

Stop thinking short term, think long term.

Take out time to build competence. Build credibility. Build rapport with your potential customers.

Make them want to hand you their money without fuss.

That’s how you can keep selling.

Share real value with them for free. What’s bothering them? Ask them questions and give them the answers they yearn for.

Go beyond just putting up your product or service for sale every other day.

Try and steal the heart of your audience. Make them fall in love with you.

In fact, seduce them.

When you show people you don’t need their money, you’ll get their money.

Always trying to sell shows you’re in dire need of money.

It portrays desperation. And this will certainly put your audience off.

Stop pitching, start building.
