Mangayamma Yaramati of Andhra Pradesh in India, 74-year-old may have just become the oldest person in the world to give birth.

On Thursday 6th August, 2019,  Mangayamma Yaramati of Andhra Pradesh in India gave birth to twins, both baby girls. She also produced a birth certificate, according to the Washington Post, corroborating her claim to this advanced age.

Some outlets have erroneously described her as being 73 years old, which would still make her highly remarkable, but as it stands, she is one year more remarkable than initially reported.
“The mother and the babies are doing well,” Yaramati’s doctor, Sankkayala Uma Shankar, told the BBC. The new father, 82-year-old Sitarama Rajarao, reportedly had a stroke the next day, and is being treated at the hospital. Still, three hours after the birth, he told the BBC he and Yaramati were “incredibly happy.”

“We tried many times and saw many doctors, so this is the happiest time of my life,” Yaramati said. In her village, she added, her neighbors singled her out for being “a childless lady” because she and her husband could not conceive on their own. They ended up doing IVF, fertilizing a donor egg with Rajarao’s sperm, and implanting it in Yaramati’s uterus. The twins were born via cesarean section.

However, there is variations of report concerning the babies’ weights — the Post says they are 2.2 pounds each, while Newsweek says each weighed about 4.4 pounds — but regardless, pregnancies this late in life are exceedingly rare. A young man by name Fwanshak Gumap reportedly died on the day he was out celebrating his birthday in a big way.

The power of death cannot be overemphasized as it kills a man on the day his life is sweetest to him. Death ensured that he did not live to see the following day.

It all happen in form of a speeding car that could have come from nowhere but hell, as it disappeared into the thin air the moment the deed was done, colliding with an equally speeding birthday boy, in high spirits, on a motorbike. But the time it was all over, it left nothing but blood, sorrow and tears.

That is the tragic tale of Fwanshak Gumap, who celebrated his 25th birthday recently. Now his 67-year-old father, Gumap Sati and the entire people of Mangu town in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, are left to mourn his mysterious and painful exit. Popularly known as Labista , his death has left his parents, close associates and fiancee devastated.

D-Day, Thursday, August 8, 2019, Fwanshak not known to do things in half measures, have had his birthday bash carefully planned out to be an elaborate ceremony where drinks, food, fun and laughter would flow without limit. To that end, he booked a popular relaxation spot in Mangu town to host his friends, colleagues and associates.

Sources said that he was woken up very early on the morning of that fateful day with birthday songs from his close friends and admirers within and outside the community. This was followed by wild bath celebration in which he was symbolically bathed with water and soap by his friends. Photos from the event were later shared with friends on different WhatsApp platforms. This action brought together more friends outside Mangu town to come and celebrate with Fwanshak.

It was gathered that different activities were lined up that fateful day to mark Fwanshak’s 25th birthday. Some of the activities were organised by his friends as a surprise birthday gift before the evening party. Incidentally, he had shared photos of different events that took place in the daytime including the photo of him on the motorcycle in which he perished.

A woman has been arrested in Imo state for allegedly selling her newborn baby for five hundred thousand naira, lying to her husband that she lost the pregnancy.
The woman identified as Chinasa Ukaonu, willingly sold her newborn baby after delivery for N500, 000 without the consent of her husband.

According to the State Police Commissioner, Rabiu Ladodo who disclosed this to newsmen through his Public Relation Officer Orlando Ikeokwu, she had left her matrimonial home while she was 8- month-old pregnant informing her husband , Promise Ukaonu, that she was going to stay with her brother for a while at Mbaitoli.
Few days after she left the house, the CP said, she sent a message across to her husband informing him that she lost the pregnancy.
Mrs Ukaonu believing she had deceived her husband, went to a baby factory where she was said to have delivered the baby with the help of two nurses, Esomonu Dorathy and Eke Catherine said the Police Commissioner.Her husband who was not satisfied with the story his wife told him decided to report the matter to the police.
On August 1, operatives of the Police command acting on reasonable information arrested Mrs Ukaonu who in turn turned the nurses who assisted her in delivery.
According to the CP, it was in the course of their investigation that they discovered that Mrs Ukaonu had sold the baby for N500,000 to one Mrs Chioma Amadi. The child has now been recovered and investigation is still ongoing.

Nigerian youths protesting the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa on Wednesday, 4th September, 2019 made a bonfire on the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja, situated at a few metres from a South African franchise, Shoprite Mall.

The outrageous smoke exuding from the bonfire restricted free movement of vehicles on the Expressway as security agents mounted guard over the shopping mall which failed to open for fear of being attacked.

The Nigerian Security men, Civil Defence Corps and armed policemen were seen trying their best to provide the security necessary for the safety of people within the area.

Similarly, a branch of Shoprite at Jabi, Abuja, was under heavy police protection to deter protesters or looters from intruding into the premises.

Speaking on a radio programme, the Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, said he had deployed police personnel across the city to maintain law and order.

It commended the arrest of 70 suspects in connection with the attacks and looting of shops belonging to some Nigerians by the SA authorities.
The MFA spokesman, Ferdinand Nwonye, in a statement assured Nigerians in South Africa of the protection of the Federal Government.

Mrs Chinasa Odah, a mother of four has been confirmed dead after a failed abortion in which she bled to death.
The woman identified to be native of Inikiri Effum community in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State bled to death on August 24, at Sudan hospital after taking abortion pills.
The 29-year-old lady’s pregnancy came off her amorous relationship with a 25-year-old man identified as Monday Mgbada.
The lady’s extra-marital affair was made after her husband, Michael Odah who rushed her to Sudan Hospital where a doctor confirmed she took abortion pills.
Punch reported that Mgbada was arrested by the police after the lady disclosed that he administered the abortion pills which sources said was capable of damaging the deceased’s womb.
