Zeroenochone: Damn are you a kid or something When it's not as if it's someone's father that owns the company how will the African market share hurt any fan or user
Do you guys really reconsider your statements before posting?? What were you trying to say here? Pretty incoherent... The gentleman stated the state of things especially here on nairaland where there is constant slandering of i-tel devices Question is; are their phones affordable? YES. Do they serve their buyers? YES. Do they make great devices at the prices they sell? YES.What then is the problem? |

KingAlabi: I really have to give itel the good though
They are producing excellent low price devices
Although I won't use an itel
At least na them get the extra low budget market
If you dey plan do heavy stuffs with your phone
Look elsewhere, but if na day to day, then itel is welcomed
Marketers I don try bah The bolded is what most people don't wanna understand and live with. Low budget means basic; no super specs across board but some.... You could get Camera, Battery & ROM optimized or Battery & Display optimized... It's left for the buyer to choose the combination that works for him/her & i-tel lives for this. |
Phones › Re: Use Your Brand In Peace! by DanJukun(m): 2:47pm On Nov 06, 2020 |
Lovepeacetrust: It's a constant battle in using a transsion device, with the few tech informed individuals left in Nigeria. I wouldn't condemn this company because they've strategized on how to penetrate the African market.
Think of it as tech colonization, these guys came to Africa to set up their base and market, do you think they just chose Africa randomly, they knew we are the only place they can successfully sell their products to,they knew what average africans do with their phones and it doesn't pass basic functions like calls, text, listening to music, browsing the web, using social media etc, that's why they cut their cost in producing these phones and make good profit in selling them, because most people are of the illusion that their devices are cheap, they already know that if they can set up here, allow their spare parts to be widely available and even build customer services (Carlcare) they'd win our loyalty, and it's true because that's why some people are still using the brand not that it's bad to use their devices.
Everyone is loyal to a brand just ask the Apple and Samsung fans. You see how Apple mainly dominates in the Usa that's how it is with transsion devices in Africa, almost everyone loves Apple over there, just like apple has its stores and customer services, tecno, infinix and itel have theirs, everything just falls back to brand loyalty but there's one thing, we Africans choose not to be tech-informed and that's why we don't care when buying these devices since they actually perform the basic tasks people need in daily activities. They buy them because the phone does what they want. People's usage and purpose with phones differ.
All in all, let people use their devices in peace, if you see that brother or sister buying his/her infinix or itel, let them enjoy their devices. If you see that brother/sister spending so much money on other brands, don't think of it as wastage, it's probably because the phone does what they want. Don't hate on anybody because of the brand they use.
Some people don't just want to be tech liberated even when you try to enlighten them which is totally fine, let everyone enjoy their devices in peace. You couldn't have said it any better. I-tel/transsions devices are serving a large part of our communities and some people don't like it? Seriously? These 'high-enders' are all up in everyone's faces waving flags of their so-called 'flagships' forgetting taste and usage varies. If they are so concerned about you all acquiring what you can afford, tell them to do 'flagship' giveaway so everyone can rest. |
Phones › Re: What Phone Should I Get Her? by DanJukun(m): 2:40pm On Nov 06, 2020 |
kmaxx: Hello house, Kindly advise/recommend any brand of phone within the price range of 25-30k.
I intend getting an Android for one of my little sister but my budget cap is not more than 30k. Infact I'm looking at 25k sef. I just want a low end spec. Any recommendations guys?
Tecno, Infinix, Gionee, Xiaomi, Umigidi or what is that phone brand called again sef? Are some brand names that comes to mind.
Your contributions is highly appreciated. 30k is perfect for the i-tel S16 pro. Impressive camera Sizable RAM/ROM Great display The speakers on it are good too. A solid build. Consider it; you may just like it and she may as well. |
Phones › Re: What Does It Mean To Be Heavy User Of Phone by DanJukun(m): 10:55am On Nov 05, 2020 |
"Heavy" is relative; even in real life - depending on one's build and strength abi.
Those who are critical of itel/transsion phones usually set the benchmark of "heavy" around gaming.
My own heavy could be purely based on large files downloads, Social media, video streaming etc.
My itel phone copes with my own type of heavy and that's it. |

maseki: Even me, I won't advice anyone buy any used phone, not even in this period. Brands like ITEL has what the OP needs for that amount he has. Why get fairly used and prolly get harrased by SARS when affordable is at your doorstep? Itel will eventually put "fairly/London used sellers" out of business sadly cos people will go for newer phones as opposed to used phone with nearly spent lifespans. I'd rather own a new S16 pro than an already spent "Flagship" . |

Foumi: There is this thread about Itel S16 Pro, someone bought the phone and used it to snap and the picture quality is seductive. You can check it out and go for the phone if you find it okay for you. I guess a lot of people say some good stuffs about it. Seductive is right. Those pictures looked crisp; that people were doubting that the 16 pro took those pictures is a pointer that itel upped their game in the selfie market. "Too good to be true" was what they all kept saying and that's damn right. |

AishaYesufu: Naira don cast jajaaa Guy itel & other similar brands know this and are now selling phones at $60-80 so when you convert, you get less than ₦30K which is about what anyone from a low income place budgets. If u look at them, they look disproportionate and the naira conversion looks very Cheap. |

Well, this works.
2gig, 32gig is the minimum benchmark...
Itel should as a matter of fact desist from going below these to (1gig, 16gig).
This should be attractive to a section of this country. I can see why they targeted india for their launch. We have identical social classes. |

4000 mAh 6.6" Screen Bezelless (Tasty) Slim bodied (perfect grip, build & classy)
Kudos. The positioning of the selfie cam makes the phone look premium. The build is solid and the capabilities are good considering the price tag. Plus phones without bezels are it for me. If bezel go dey sef, mk e dey under. |

Impressive.!!! If Itel could continue on this trajectory, it'll be a meteorological rise. Let them as a matter of policy, follow the trends in the African smartphone market. I.e, Uphold power, screen size, smoothness, Camera fast internet and Gaming; wait, I exhausted the list |
