In my secondary school days we were taught about rights. We all have freedom of speech. If the followers are not comfortable with how the leaders are behaving,are they not support to refute and protest? Or do you want to tell me that the followers are not aware of these?

My co debater. Yes the follower have the right to protest. But are our voices heard? is the government ready to listen to the followers? the only place the followers function well to ensure an effective leadership is during the election.

so tell me how many protest have you made and the effect was made effectively? so I believe and you will believe with me that most followers just fold their hands simply because the leaders don't grant them the right to do so. and this will certainly create a wrong motive in the followers and they do will begin to believe that corruption is a normal norms.

To me, A leader in this debate is someone that holds a political post or has a political power. The principals you mentioned there is still regarded as a follower. And don't you think, the students and parents share the most blame in your case there. We all know the parents must have collided with the principal of the school to carry out the act of corruption, and the students are willingly to be involved. So tell me who takes the most blame? Is it the government or the parents, teachers and students?

Leaders are all round and all leaders in any society plays an important role for the society. so if you are a president you are still a leader to people and if you are a principal you are still a leader to your students so don't restrict yourself to one set of leaders

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in
Niamey, Niger Republic, expressed confidence in
the ability of the Nigerian military to overcome
and eradicate Boko Haram.
Speaking at an interactive with newsmen after
talks with President Issoufou Mahamadou of
Niger, Buhari declared that the Nigerian Army,
which had earned a good reputation across the
world, remained a virile fighting force.
“I am four days in office today and we have
already started the process of ending the
insurgency,” the president said.
He said that in the course of the over five hours
meeting he held with heads of Nigeria’s Armed
Forces and Security Agencies on Wednesday,
ongoing operations against Boko Haram were
reviewed for better results.
Buhari said that because of the peculiarities of
terrorism, the movement of terrorists across
borders and the unconventional nature of the war
against terror, Nigeria would continue to seek the
support of neighbouring countries in its bid to
overcome Boko Haram.
The president said that his visit to Niger was to
seek more supports from the country in bringing
a quick end to the atrocities of Boko Haram.
The president said that he would hold similar
meetings on security and the war against
terrorism with the Chadian authorities after
leaving Niamey on Thursday.
He said that Nigeria would also require the
assistance of other nations and multi-lateral
institutions to rebuild areas adversely affected by
the Boko Haram insurgency and rehabilitate
displaced persons.
At the opening of bilateral talks between Nigeria
and Niger earlier, Buhari praised his host’s
contributions to the ongoing multi-national effort
against terrorism, insurgency and cross-border
crimes.
“Permit me also to acknowledge the consistency
with which the government and people of Niger
Republic have stood beside Nigeria under all
circumstances.
“I will like to convey the appreciation of Nigeria
for the sacrifices by Niger in the ongoing efforts
to counter the menace of the Boko Haram
insurgency.
“Niger Republic has over the years proved to be a
reliable ally to Nigeria both at bilateral and
multilateral levels.

“It is our hope and aspiration that this special
relationship will be further consolidated during
my administration.’’
According to Buhari, his administration will bring
new impetus and a renewed commitment to the
efforts to wipe out the menace of the Boko Haram
insurgents.
He added that as a first step, “we have directed
the relocation of the command post of the counter-
insurgency operations to Maiduguri until such a
time that the insurgency is completely defeated.’’
“Another issue of concern to us which is closely
associated with the insurgency in the region is the
influx of refugees and other displaced persons.
“We are aware that currently, there are over
150,000 displaced persons comprising refugees and
returnees taking refuge in various parts of Niger.
“Our administration will work closely with
governments of the affected States to continue to
provide humanitarian assistance to the displaced
persons and their host communities.
“The ultimate objective, however, remains to end
the insurgency and facilitate their return to their
homes,” Buhari said.
In his remarks, the President of Niger commended
Buhari for making Niger the first country he
would visit after his inauguration.
“Your decision to move the military command of
Nigeria to the North East has further
strengthened our conviction that the war against
terrorism will soon come to an end,” he told
president.
He gave the assurance that Niger would continue
to support Nigeria in the fight against Boko
Haram.

President Muhammadu Buhari advised Nigerins to
exercise patience because “the task of rebuilding
Nigeria is an arduous one.”
Meanwhile, the president said he would do all
within his powers to guarantee that they would
not regret trusting national responsibility to
him by electing him during the March 28
presidential poll.
Buhari stated that his government was capable
of fixing the nation’s problems.

He made the suggestion in an address he
delivered to members of the Nigerian
community in Niger during his visit to the
neighbour country.
A copy of his speech was made obtainable to
journalists in Abuja by his aide, Mallam Garba
Shehu.
President Buhari told Nigerians that his
administration was just coming on board and
was still in the procedure of setting out
suitable modalities on how to actualise its plan
of restoring Nigeria as contained in the
manifesto of the All Progressives Congress.
He stated that Nigerians voted for him based
on the party’s manifesto.
The president repeated his position that to
enable faster development, his government

“Nigerians will not regret that they have
entrusted national responsibility to us.
“We must not succumb to hopelessness and
defeatism. We can fix our problems.
“However, daunting as the task to surmount
these challenges may be, they are by no
means insurmountable.
“There is now a national consensus that our
chosen route to national development is
democracy. To achieve our objectives, we
must consciously work to improve the
democratic system.”


President Buhari also assured them that his
administration would be firm in ensuring that
the country’s recovered its desirable position
among the comity of nations.
Meanwhile, he said he wanted all Nigerians,
comprising those in the Diaspora, to partner
his government in order to realise the dream.
“ I want to conclude by urging you to continue
to remain law-abiding and to continue to be
good ambassadors of the country as we
embark on the journey of rebirth, development,
evolution and integration,” Buhari concluded.

The governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has
said he will be happy to nominate a worthy
candidate for appointment in President
Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.
Fayose, in a statement on June 2, Tuesday,
called on Buhari to grant him the honour of
naming the minister that would come from
Ekiti state, Punch reports.

The governor said: “ I shall be happy to
nominate a worthy and competent
professional, who can always oblige Your
Excellency and your cabinet the benefit of a
second opinion in the serious business of
governance .”
According to him, he had already written to
the President on the matter and was awaiting
his reply which he hopes would be favourable

He explained that his letter was on the
strength of Section 147 sub (2) and (3) of the
1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria, which states: (2) Any appointment to
the office of the Minister of the government of
the Federation shall, if the nomination of any
such person to such office is confirmed by the
Senate, be made by the President. (3) Any
appointment under sub-section (2) of this
section by the President shall be in conformity
with the provision of section 15 (3) of this
constitution provided that in giving effect to
the provision aforesaid, the President shall
appoint at least one Minister from each state,
who shall be an indigene of such state.
Fayose pointed out that Buhari had earlier
declared that he would put the overall interest
of the country above every other particularly
political partisanship and bias, hence his letter
to the president.
He cited the case of Olusegun Obasanjo and
Chief Bola Ige as example. According to him,
though Obasanjo was a member of the Peoples
Democratic Party, he appointed the late Ige,
who was a chief of the opposition Alliance for
Democracy, as the Minister for Justice.
Fayose, who was one of Buhari’s biggest
opponents in the run-up to the March
presidential election, said this in a statement
on Tuesday
