Good news. Nigeria Embassy officers from London will be in Edinburgh tomorrow to take the biometric data from those who have applied for E-Passport. This will save you the cost and trouble of traveling to London. If you are interested, you must do the online application first if you have not already done so before going to Edinburgh with your details. The address in Edinburgh is Edinburgh Training & Conference Centre, 16 St Mary Street, Edinburgh. EH1 1 SU. The officers will be in Edinburgh till Friday this week. Good luck and God bless. The school is preparing another cas for me. But hope the admin review won't clash with the new application am about to make?
I don't even know how to explain my refusal in the new application, cos i was refused for nothing. And i heard making new application is like accepting the eco decision.

You can go for the admin review and also make a fresh application. that wouldnt clash and it costs nothing to go for admin review.

miladelly, Thou shalt not fear. I guess you submitted the appeal at the British high commission and not directly to the Loughborough,UK? Well, in as much as you appealed, and your appeal application was lodged at BHC, the visa managers goes through each appeal form for reconsideration.so I reckon that was what happened to your mum's case and the Visa manager decided to reconsider her application and grant her the visa, so go and get the visa.I hope this helps. I had overstayed in the UK 10yrs ago and was deported. Since then I have settled in Nigeria and doing well and have travelled to other European countries on holiday. I applied for a UK visit visa earlier this year (to genuinely visit) but didnt indicate in my application that I had been deported because I thought that after 10years they ignore such records. They denied the visa and said I am further banned for another 10yrs before applying for another visa for not stating my deportation and applying for indefinite stay.

When I read the rejection letter I actually laughed because I'll be 50 in 10yrs time and it is my children that will be doing the travelling then not me.

Is it possible to appeal or plead for leniency and reapply for a visit visa before the suspension period elapses?

Genuine advise only please.

This case is quite difficult to answer. On the application page, Part 6.6 of the family visitor form says"have you even been deported,removed or otherwise require to leave any country,incluiding the UK in the last 10years? And your case was after 10years. I actually think you need an expert to advice. Maybe to appeal the decision of that ban if it can be atleast lifted.

@lolatom.you don't need to send a copy of your transcript to the Embassy. Get ur transcript, but it should be fully addressed to the BHC, submit it with ur application.make sure u don't submit it enclosed in envelope.

wow! I have never been subjected to such nonsense at the airports here and aborad. maybe cos I dont carry much when im travelling or maybe cos I have been lucky all this while. I always look directly at the immigration officers and answer their questions without shifting my gaze. Its a very intimidating posture that helps me to wade off undue agression at foreigh airports.
but the one that pisses me off is when the immigration officer brings out his binoculars to scoff at my passport. I really hate that.

u really need to relax oo. Im aware that these officers can make life miserable for you if they are determined to teach you a lesson. A friends nephew was detained for abusing an officer in moscow and he did not have a pleasant experience.

My worst experience with immigration will probably be in Sri Lanka enroute to London via Singapore. We were checking into the departure lounge and all of a sudden two immigration officers spring up and start checking peoples passports. I am thinking thats wierd because most of us are on transit and as such we do not need to deal with any Immigration guys in Sri Lanka. Me being a patriotic Citizen I have my Nigerian passport. When it is my turn to show my passport ,  guess what the guy takes one look at the passport and starts fiddling with it,  4 mins, 8 mins, he's not done yet,  I am getting really pissed, so i asked if anything was wrong and he replied that he has never seen a Nigerian passport before so he has to verify the authencity of the passport. I am totally gobsmacked,  I have a lot of visas on the passport and i know Asians are funny with Nigerian passport but this is got to be the flimsiest excuse ever. He asks what my immigration status is in the UK,  Dual Citiz, do i have any proof of where i live? and thats where i lost it. I told him off severley and the next thing i know they got a woman from the Uk High Commission in Colombo  to come and verify my details!!! Luckily she was a black woman and i explained to her what happened and i got to know that they had some problems with dodgy Nigerians hence i was paying that price. A t the end of the day I made the guy apologise. I swore never to go through that God forsaken country or their airline ever again.

A friend of mine was made to cough out $400 (1st tymer though) yestaday at MMIA on his way 2 Germany. Wen Has it become a crime b a 1st tyme traveller? Though, he's a bit nervous and has enof to throw around.

U get response within 28days of submission.sometimes,it could take up to a month or 2.To be on a safe side, put in the admin review then make a fresh application carefully addressin the issue/issues pointed out by the ECO.

The mean issue is that I have done a semester already, just came to renew my papers oo since june. God will surely show his favour to those waiting for their visa and those yet to submit in the future. @Dayo, I emailed them and I also called. I called this number: 094623300. Listen attentively to the instructions, but what I did was to press 6 for general enquiry. So do so as well someone will speak to you. I spoke with a lady and she told me the status of my application. I also got this email from them:

Dear Sir / Madam

Thank you for your email.

Your application has been fully processed and sent to the application centre for collection .You may collect it tomorrow after 11am.
