Gud day house,am developing a GUI applicatn,n am intending to use MS access DB for my backend,though its a standalone app. I nid to cr8 a datasource for the MS access db but am using an x86 architecture of windows ultimate n i think that might be d problem pls how do i resolve that... I couldn't find d MS access db ODBC server on d ODBC datasource manager pls help

ok, i checked the mysql-je library information,i discovered that the embedded mode for stand-alone application doesn't support a resultset with scroll-sensitive attribute,but will still try it...n continue troubleshooting the java derby,thanks for everything

In my opinion wordpress is the best tool for making blog site. I think you have to use wordpress tutorial site to learn about wordpress and its tool to use for making blog site.

segsalerty: OCMJD as of 2parts when i did mine, but there is a compulsary incourse(online classroom) now. u need to buy oracle voucher(was 22000) then, use it to register for ur OCMJD project, get the problem and solve within (1year then bt now 6months). after uploading ur solution, u will go and do the essay frm any prometric center and write it there then wait for 4wks for ur result, bt tinz has really changed now(thou, before i downloaded my assignment,[before Oracle bought sun]). check oracle website for new requirement but am sure they introduced a compulsary course (Software Engineering or so) to be taken before being qualified.

About your project problem, I advice u use mysql(install wamp), get mysql connector driver and code ur interaction with the db. when u nw want to deploy, u can nw use apache derby, change the db connectivity instance to wat ur derby requires and set the derby db(import ur tables frm wamp mysql). hope this helps

So also,i have been trying to deal with a programming issue,i developed a database driven application,2b specific,i used java derby db,d applicatn is a GUI,it connects to d database,bt i've tried to retrieve fields frm d derby db into a resultset object and set its content on a label,bt nothing is getting retrieved,pls wat else can i do to. I wud've postd d code content here,bt its too bulky,am usn D netbeans so copyn d codes isn't dat easy...pls reply me when u come around

Kennyinusa: I personally do not use Java DB but i also encountered such probs too, and solving it is quite simple.

First of all (introduction- Olamide)
You would need the Java DB driver, i do not know maybe you have it bundled with your IDE but you sha would need it.

Afterward you would have to specify that you project need to work on a JavaDB, just right click on your project then go to properties...

You should know that your ResultSet work as a List so... You can get your way around that by just going through some few materials...

Lastly Google is your friend

its already bundled with the Netbeans iam using, i can even log into the derby database, add the columns and tables. but the only is for me to access it from my codes but i will see to the google thing, if i can find my way around it. thanks.

hello house i have been battling with this issue for quite some time and i will like people to help contribute.
I intend to develop a quiz application but i want to use a java derby database. I'm using the netbeans and its has been working quite well but the problem is if i want to connect to the database from my codes the database is not running.
this is what i need help on:
1a. how can i retrieve fields from the table and store it in a label, though i know of ResultSet interface which could be used to store whatever is retrieved from the table, but its not working if someone can just give me a working sample based on the java derby database.
1b. how can i iterate through the fields i have retrieved such that i can scroll through it in the label, just like in quizes.

2. Do i have to bundle the java derby database into the main jar file for it to be accessible to the main program, or it can just be in the distributable (dist) folder
