Point of correction, Ekwueme contested PDP's ticket with Obasanjo but he was thrashed.

Ojukwu did again in the general election too in 2003 but lost.


Even when it was zoned to the north in 2007, Orji Uzor Kalu contested against Yaradua under PPA...

Dr Alex Ekwueme formed PDP with other political big weights. He was to flag PDP ticket in 1999 and the road was already clear for him to emerge President.


Nigerian political elites and the military leadership then sat down and said Yorubas need to be compensated for Abiola saga and that was how the dieminute decision was made for a Yoruba man to flag PDP ticket and they saw Obasanjo worthy to flag the ticket.


All efforts was made to ensure Yoruba candidates flagged Presidential tickets for the major parties in that 1999 election. Why is it different now, have we forgotten the things that united us after the unfortunate civil war crises and tribal tensions?


Obasanjo had less than 10million, couldn't even contribute cos he just came out from jail, so on a normal day he couldnt have won richer Alex Ekwueme and others.



PDP you guys condemn so much also had a gentleman agreement to rotate the presidency and principal offices among the Nigerian tribes and this sustained peace, unity, equity and fairness in Nigeria all through out the 16yrs of PDP.

Nah you are missing the drift.... APC has a strong footing in the north already, I don't see Buhari working against the party irrespective of the party's candidate... APC will sweep the atleast 60% of the votes from the north.


Even if APC gives her ticket to the SE, the party can not get a block vote from that zone.
If they zone it to the SS, with the influence of Wike and his ambition in PDP, APC won't be able to get a block vote from that zone too...

But if APC gives her ticket to the SW, the party is guaranteed a block vote from the zone which will be able to consolidate the ones they will get from the north. and they will only hope to get alteast 25% from the SE and SS just to satisfy constitutional requirements.


The biggest mistake the APC will make is not giving the ticket to the SW... My brother you will see protest votes front the SW and the won't get enough votes from either of the SS or SE.

This is just my candid opinion.

PDP southern presidents enjoyed such time because of uncontrollably circumstances of death.That of yardua.

But you see the south is already divided divided seriously between south west,south south and south east.
In the days of Obasanjo and Jonathan PDP was in all geopolitical zone and was able to do that.
You will notice Jonathan didn't succeed the second time because the voting was nolonger party base but with other intentions.

The north just concluded eight years by APC buhari is only in consideration for south to get power if all the south are in one major political entity but that is opposite what is in the south.

It will be risky for APC to win if they give it to a Southern when PDP is pious to give it to a Northern.
APC will have to check PDP if they want to win.
The best the PDP can do is to give it to Jonathan but that a gain will make Tinubu to gang up with Atiku to spite buhari.

The political days ahead is full of betrayal because circumstances that will favour APC are not in the South but in the North.
