Former Kano Governor Musa Kwankaso yesterday has started his distribution of Palliatives in the State.

Wotzupng gathered that the Palliatives will be shared across all the 44 Local Government Authorities in the State.

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday called for clinical trials of Madagascar's Covid Organics, a herbal drink that is said to prevent and cure patients suffering from the novel coronavirus or COVID-19.

"We are advising the government of Madagascar to take this product through a clinical trial and we are prepared to collaborate with them," Matshidiso Moeti, WHO's regional director for Africa, told a joint media briefing with the WHO and World Economic Forum.

"We would caution and advise countries against adopting a product that has not been through clinical tests for safety and efficacy," Moeti said.

"We are concerned about the impact that COVID-19 will have on the ability of African countries to progress towards Universal health coverage," she added.

There are over 51,000 confirmed virus cases in the African continent, with more than 17,000 associated recoveries and 1,900 deaths, according to the WHO.

"We know that to stop the spread of this virus, key public health measures need to be in place in every community... even where cases have not been reported, readiness capacities should be prepositioned," the WHO official said.

She added that WHO was "working with countries to leverage the assets they have in place already, built in preparedness for Ebola and HIV, TB and polio program among others, as well as to scale-up coordination, mobilize people and repair supply chains globally and locally."

"It’s not a matter of simply today we have lockdowns and tomorrow everything is opened up. It has to be gradual with the most essential parts of the economy being opened up first,'' Moeti said.

Several African countries have lifted the partial lockdown imposed to stem the spread of the virus, but the ban on gatherings is still in place.

While educational facilities remain closed in most African countries, businesses have been allowed to operate conditionally.

African governments say there is need to resume economic activities with imperative to contain the virus.

Moeti said they have guidelines from WHO on "progressively releasing these measures."

In a Press Statement released at Abuja by Activist and Former APC Deputy Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank has called on Nigerians to reject the 'Control Infectious Disease Bill 2020'. 


The Activist called the Bill 'Satanic'. He posit that the Bill is a collaboration between the 9th National Assembly and President Buhari to sell Nigeria to their debtors. 


In his words, he said: 


"I call on Nigerians to reject the conspiracy between @MBuhari and the Leadership of @nassnigeria to sell Nigeria to their debtors. They're trying to inject all Nigerians with a Satanic Vaccine. These are part of the conditions given to them for the loans they've been collecting.

Doctors treating COVID-19 now say that purple or blue toe lesions appearing on patients’ toes may be a way to diagnose infection, as these have appeared in otherwise asymptomatic and severe cases alike;

However, so far there have been no conclusive studies to validate the phenomenon now being called “COVID toes.”

In addition to the most common symptoms (fever, shortness of breath, and dry cough), COVID-19 has also shown up as conjunctivitis (aka, pink eye), skin rashes, and digestive issues like diarrhea.

Now, dermatologists are looking into another possible sign, known as "COVID toes."

“They’re typically painful to touch and could have a hot burning sensation,” Dr. Ebbing Lautenbach, chief of infectious disease at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine told USA Today.

Lautenbach said that COVID toes are disproportionately present in children and young adults, who may otherwise be asymptomatic or test negative at early stages of the virus.


Intriguingly, the most severe COVID-19 patients also exhibited COVID toes, said Susan Wilcox, Massachusetts General Hospital’s chief of critical care for the emergency department, who told USA Today that this symptom is most common in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

There are two possible explanations for COVID toes, according to Lautenbach: It could possibly be a localized inflammatory response to infection that presents in a person’s foot and toes, or it might be a blood vessel clot—more research would need to be done.


Purple and blue lesions on the toes are also present in severe flu or viral pneumonia patients, according to Wilcox.

No conclusive research has been done on COVID toes, experts warn, so all explanations and evidence is still anecdotal at this point.

Nigerian recording artiste, Brymo real name Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ has been accused of sexual assault by a social media user.

Several weeks after releasing his seventh studio album, Yellow, the singer has found himself tangled in a sexual assault allegation.

According to @Biliquis_X, who took to the social media platform to share a screenshot of the allegation by his alleged victim, she visited Brymo with a friend, only for the singer to sexually assault the pair.

“I was raped by brymo I had mentioned to her that I knew him personally and she wanted to meet him as she was a huge fan of his. So I called him to confirm if it was okay to bring a friend over to his place and also if he was at home and he said it was. When we got his place, we listened to music, talked about music and random stuff and drank wine. Everything was going okay. Until he got up and went to sit beside my friend. He started touching her and I could tell she was uncomfortable and she also complained about feeling fuzzy (we believe she was probably drugged) so I told him to stop and that we were leaving. I brought out my phone and was about ordering a taxify when he told me he wanted to talk to me. I told him I’d talk to him later but we had to leave. But he insisted and told me to go with him to his room to talk as he didn’t want to talk in the presence of my friend. I leave. The Ogun State Government, Tuesday donated additional patrol vehicles and motorcycles through the State Security Trust Fund (OGSTF) to security agencies operating within the State.

Given out were 69 pick-up vans for the State Police Command, the QRS received 10, TRACE got 10 while the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps took delivery of two vans.

The State Government also donated five operational vehicles to the Nigerian Army, two to the NSCDC, two to the Department of State Services (DSS), one to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and five additional ones to the Police.

Also the services were given branded motorcycles to navigate peculiar terrains and neighbourhoods.

All the vehicles donated were equipped with information and communication gadget for intelligence gathering and to reach out to officers on outpost and assignments. The gadgets include, but not limited to sirens, telecoms equipment and crash helmets.

The distribution of these operational vehicles followed the procumbent of 100 patrol vans and 200 motorbikes by the State Government in September, 2019 for security agencies in the State to improve their patrol and response strength.

Dapo Abiodun stated that this was in a bid to further empower all security agencies, who daily ensure the security of lives and property across the State, especially as the State battles the COVID-19 contagion.

All these, he said, are geared towards curbing crimes in the State, as there is no place for anything that would threaten the peace and safety of individuals and business across the State.

“So I call on ECOWAS to revert their position on Buhari to lead the fight against COVID-19. This was the same mistake AU made when they appointed Buhari as Champion to fight Corruption in Africa. And now corruption is a usual breakfast in Africa. May God help us to save Nigeria.”, he tweets.

The outspoken Activist also drew lines between selecting based on competence and merit, or selecting based on the size of a Nation. He emphatically praised the likes of Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, Tanzania’s Dr. John Magufuli, Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta, and Ethiopia’s Abiy Ahmed for their remarkable achievements in and across Africa. He labelled them true Leaders who doesn’t compromise Africa for their selfish gains.

“Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia are not up to the size of Nigeria in terms of Population and Economic size. But they’ve done far better than Nigeria in recent times. Angry youths in Ohafia, Abia State, have set ablaze three police vans, a police barracks and a magistrates’ court to protest against the killing of an indigene, Friday Arunsi, by a police corporal.

The policeman reportedly shot Arunsi dead on Friday along Ebem Ohafia Road.

The incident made it the third extrajudicial killing in the state within two weeks as confirmed by the state Commissioner of Police, Ene Okon.

Confirming the incident, the police boss said the corporal, who was not on duty, was on his way from a drinking spree in company with two others; an assistant superintendent of police, and a sergeant.

Okon said the vehicle the policemen were in hit a stationary truck offloading goods and they alighted to confront the truck driver.

CP said while the driver was querying the action of the policemen, there was shooting during which ‘someone was killed.’


He said the three policemen were already in detention, adding that investigation was ongoing.

“Nobody can tell could where the shooting came from as the youths were armed too and equally shooting. I have called the area commander and SARS. They said no one shot anybody,” Okon added.

According to eyewitness accounts in Ohafia, the tragedy happened on Eni Njoku Road, Ebem Ohafia, few metres away from a police barracks, while the victim died at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia. Another person reportedly sustained bullet injuries in the leg.

China has revised its official death toll from coronavirus, raising the number of fatalities attributed to the pandemic by more than a third.

Wuhan, where the virus was first reported late last year, on today as added 1,290 coronavirus deaths to the city’s toll.

The total number of cases recorded in the city is now 50,333, with 3,869 deaths.


They previously reported death toll for Wuhan was 2,579 — so the revised figure marks a 50% increase in the number of deaths in the city from coronavirus.

The authorities said the revision was made in order to include patients who were not treated at hospitals and passed away at home, since medical facilities faced a shortage of resources during the early stage of the outbreak.

At the peak of the epidemic in early 2020, hospitals were overloaded, with medics preoccupied with saving patients’ lives, leading to delays and oversight in reporting the cases, the authorities said.

Some facilities also failed to connect with the wider epidemic network immediately, while information related to fatalities was incomplete and led to misreporting or repeated counts.

Atiku Abubakar’s Son, Mohammed Test Positive To Coronavirus Again After Been Placed On Medication

Mohammed Atiku-Abubakar, a son of former vice-president, has continued to test positive for coronavirus four weeks after he was confirmed, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.

He remained isolated without symptoms, a development that has surprised medical experts.

Despite being placed on medication, including antiretroviral and immune-boosting vitamins, he has continued to test positive 28 days on, according to medical officials familiar with his case.

“He tested positive again yesterday,” an official told PREMIUM TIMES.

Kano State has recorded first COVID-19 death on Wednesday.

The state ministry of health confirmed this in a tweet at 11.55 pm.

Kano on Wednesday confirmed 12 new cases of COVID-19, hence with a total of 21 confirmed cases in the state.

As at 11:55 pm Kano State recorded their first death just 10 minutes after recording 12 cases in the state.

Currently, In Nigeria 34 New Cases were Confirmed last night making it a total of 407 and 128 Discharged, 12 Deaths.

Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III has reportedly sent one of his queens, packing from the palace over allegations of adultery.

According to sources, Olori Badirat Ajoke was sent packing yesterday after allegations were made by a popular blogger, Esther Aboderin aka Esabod that a wife of the Alaafin of Oyo was having an adulterous affair with a popular fuji artiste, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM1).

I learnt that it was an emotional scene at the Alaafin’s palace watching Olori Badirat Ajoke, who is actually the 9th wife and not the last wife as believed in certain quarters, of the highly revered Oba Adeyemi who Wikipedia claims has up to 13 wives.

Olori Ajoke who is currently observing her mandatory one year National Youth Service is a 2018 graduate of the prestigious University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State.

She also runs a charity foundation called the Queen Ajoke Adeyemi Foundation (QAAF) with special focus on assisting children from indigent homes and training youths on vocational jobs.
