So there's this girl I've been friends with for years now. We're all cool and both course mates but are both done now. Now here's the thing. She has a boyfriend (fiancé) in which she wants to get married to plus she introduced me to him. We all became good and he was good with it too. Along the line we became so close that people actually thought we were dating which I only laugh off. No doubts she's fine and a spec but since she has a boyfriend I kept my distance. She cooks for me and we both visit each other and sometimes go outing which we both pay for each other. So sometime last year, my phone got spoilt and had to borrow 20k from her ( I guess that was my mistake). I said I'd pay at the end of the said month. But couldn't pay due to delay from being paid at work. I wasn't paid for two months and in those months I told her to be patient and all. I even sent her voicenotes and screenshot of what my boss said. Last year ending I had a girlfriend and dropped attention towards her to focus on my new girl. Then my friend started saying that "I met her before I met my new girl" and I was like I can't put you above my girl just as you can't put me above your guy too. Then she became hostile and was demanding for her money and all when she saw I uploaded the picture of my girl. She began abusing and cursing which I was shocked and also laughed off. This same girl I helped in school and did her work and even helped during exams without collecting a dime as friends should do. Same girl got birthday gifts in cash (400k) from different well wishers mostly guys. Now She called my other male friends telling them I'm owing her and don't want to pay. Luckily for me my boss paid me and I was able to pay and off and told her we're done as friends which I appreciated her lending me the cash. Which I reported her to her fiancé. He told me she called him already saying I want to destroy their relationship that I shouldn't listen to whatever I want to say which he confimed I'm saying the truth. After some months she's back with her apologizing for all what she said and wants us to be friends again.she didn't know I know what she told her fiancé. I've been ignoring her calls and chats for weeks now. She said she'll be coming to visit this Saturday.

If you are of the school of thought that providing for the family along automatically makes you a caring father, then you are among those that
risk being irrelevant to your children.

If you look at most families today, the children hardly mention their fathers when making a reference to something inspiring. I mean quoting what your father once taught you or something positive you learnt while growing up. I am referring to fathers of our time.

Today, everything is about making money and paying the bills. That is not enough.
How close are you to your children? It is always the mother that attends to issues that trouble the children today. Even though fathers source for solutions at the end but the children will always remember the person that discovered the problems, or at least care to know what the problem is.

How often do we call our kids, sit them down and ask them about the kind of challenges they face in life?

Some fathers hardly call their children (far from home) on phone except the mother does and maybe pass the phone to him. This has made some people to call mostly their mothers on phone and explain situations to her rather than the father who provides the money to solve the situations.

You can see that despite most fathers provide the money, yet the mothers get most of the appreciation.

My point is, we shouldn't be too focus on just making the money. Let us remember we are also making a family too.

Just simply say your father failed you and your family. As for my dad, he's a very good man who risked all for all five boys. A man who taught me what I knew today to become a good father myself. A man who taught me the fear of God, a man who advises me on what to do and what not to do. And lastly, a man that I'll forever be grateful to. I don't know what you people want from all of this, most of y'all are always praising your mom and leaving your dad out of it. Even Father's day I see feminists telling themselves happy Father's day. mtcheew. If your father failed you and your family it's your cup of tea.
