I wish these guys would be cslledup to D’Tigers Olympics camp!

Ogugua Anunobi - Toronto Raptors -
Jesusemilore Ojeleye - Boston Celtics
Chinanu Onuaku - Houston Rockets
Ike Anigbogu - Indiana Pacers
Femi 'Bam' Adebayo - Miami Heats
Kostas Ndubuisi Antetokounmpo LA Lakers
Olumiye Oni Utah Jazz
Chikezie Okpala Miami Heats
Chuma Okeke Orlando Magic
With the poor support from the NBBF and Naija people as a whole for basketball, I doubt most will even accept the call. Especially the really good players

Abi o..

There are levels to this football thing. How is sudan under 23 a proper guage for who is ready for the super eagles?

Let us see them in the AFCON and in the Olympics if they qualify. Then we might have an idea on who is ready for the super eagles.
Exactly my point sir

Back to the molly whopping don by our dream team. Sanusi Ibrahim is the next top npfl player to come out of nowhere. Our CB pairing can play for the Super Eagles right now. I have never seen Imama coach a good defense, this seems weird. Normally his catch phrase is you score one I score two. We will miss Zuby and Nwakali at the tournament no doubt about that but this team will be very solid.
Please note that we played Sudan and not a top level team.

I advice we wait till we start appraising this guys

This zuby of a guy has been hyped to high heavens and some have even compared him to Ndidi. Maybe, they know better than European scouts. If he was this good, he would be playing in a top four league.

Respectfully no.

Same way we no linger need Balogun (unless he finds a new club and starts playing regularly) and Ezenwa.

I am talking of the years before AFCON 2019 and not just AFCON 2019. The post you quoted had a message you just didn't decode. There was a time it was said, "Mikel had no replacement" and truly he was the best at what he does then. But now... the pendulum shifts to Iwobi. It is his era now.
By the "years", I take it that you mean 2013-2017. Because after then, he declined rapidly

Just like FIFA ranking, those above them have already accumulated a lot of points in the past. so winning the UCL won't just close the gap. They need to continue at the top and rack up more points to close the gap.
Still, eight is too low for a club their status. They should be in top 5 at least

You are again off-point. Mikel was indeed the best we had then until Egypt 2019. Look Elfy... Try to understand a post before you quote it. You always seem in a hurry to run in here and start screaming 'I told you so' negatives. Haba.
Mikel wasn't the best we had Nerdy. Its not about negatives. Its the truth nobody choose to admit because we looked to his past glories.

Aribo would have done better than Mikel as a CM at the AFCON. I would've even taken Ebere Eze in place of Mikel. Mikel was invited on pure sentiments. He wasn't even the best or most important player in his championship team.

I think Rohr is a major reason why we are approaching a golden age in terms of talent. Invitations to the super eagles are more on merit now. Our players are moving to the big leagues to get attention of national team selectors.

We know how poor team selection used to be.

I understand the frustration with Rohr but he has met every target expected of him. If we are replacing Rohr, we must get someone who is tactically better and someone who will not invite junk players.

There is no point sacking him if we get a coach that will ignore our best players for crucial games.
His meritocracy and the fact that our players no play for better clubs are reasons why I still defend Rohr

BUT

We aren't winning the games we should win comfortably and he is tactically inept. These are big minuses.

I'm 50/50 on Rohr

onyekuru or ihenancho. If Kalu, chukuwueze and 1 or 2 other wingers can be clinical enough, we can play like Liverpool. However we will need a ball playing defender like van Dijk and our midfield must be solid.
Lol.

And the hype begins.

Well, nothing is impossible. To play like Liverpool, you first have to change your coach

Who needs an old fashioned Drogba or Costa kind of Playing style. How many strikers today are into bullying defenders with strength or Power. Modern football has moved past that.

Infact , Osimhen kind of style was what was missing all this while, cos you could see that the wingers and Midfielder were more comfortable in playing with him, cos he matched their tempo and fast paced style.
The way you guys are praising Osimhen, he scored due to a penalty and bit from open play. He has yet to score from open play for the SE like Ighalo, so I don't see why you guys are comparing both players. Osimhen isn't even at Ighalo's level yet

If any of you think a very physical Sudan will come to Naija and not sit back and close their defence like the great walk of China, then you must be in fairy tale land.

Libya isn't Sudan and our pitch here in Naija is equally bad, so no excuses. Me I predict a 1:1 draw.

Parlour urges Abraham to stay with England

TalkSport pundit Ray Parlour feels Tammy Abraham should commit his international future to England amid attempts by Nigeria to lure the Chelsea striker away from the Three Lions.

The 21-year-old has represented England at various youth levels and earned two senior caps for his country in 2017. However, neither was a competitive international game, raising the possibility he could still play for Nigeria, the homeland of his father.

While Abraham was not called up by head coach Gareth Southgate for England’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo, Parlour has urged the youngster to stay patient.

‘If he keeps scoring goals, he will definitely get into the England squad,’ said the former Arsenal midfielder.

‘Jamie Vardy has retired and they’re lacking a little bit up front. He’s got an opportunity to be in the squad, but obviously he won’t be in front of Harry Kane.”

‘Once you start with a country as a youngster, I think you should stick with them,” Parlour added.

‘It’s up to the player; he’s looking at whether he’ll get an opportunity. It’s a battle, because there are a lot of good players at England, and you’ll get a lot more caps if you go elsewhere.

‘As a manager, you’d be on the phone straight away saying, “You’re in my plans, keep playing as you are, and you’ll get an opportunity”. That’s what I’d be doing if I was Gareth Southgate.
There is no need to beg Tammy. He will commit his future to England. That I am sure of. If southgate lik, let him snub the guy 100 times. That's one thing about Tammy I like, his tenacity and single mindedness
