It's very simple. Before going for any interview calls, make sure you've done some background research, including researching the employees' salary range of the company/organisation you intend to work for. Going by the above, comparatively, you can give them a figure range. |
Thank you so much Nairalanders. May you all continue to increase in wisdom. So much has been learned already. To the Mod who gave this a wider coverage, may God bless you. |
VeryWickedMan:Thank you so much. This make a lot of sense. In my own case, I'm a government employee and a programmer/developer, what do you suggest I gift such people? |
phorget:You didn't get my point, but it's okay though. I can't bless everyone neither can you. I blessed the few I can in my humble capacity without any fanfare. |
They're way above my league, but I found favour in their eyes and I was greatly favoured. I've this class of people in my life; they've rendered help that I often feel like I don't even deserve. There's nothing I can give them in return that would repay them for their deeds. I've been thinking lately, how do I appreciate these people? Have you been in my shoes before? I need your help!

Ordinary LGA Chairman should be ashamed to commission this talk more of a sitting Governor. Nice gesture from the Adeboyes by the way. |
Quite iconic |
Man looks so lonely and somber. Wealth doesn’t necessarily bring happiness—especially when it’s ill-gotten. It can bring something far worse. |
The driver should be tried & jailed, and his handlers be made paid for the damages. |
Celebrity life's a sick one, they always trying to please their cheerers while stuck with drugs and bs im their closets. |
Ahh this thread. Growing up was fun & crazy, I did all sort of things. 1.While in secondary, there were rumours of humming spirit and ghost in the entire school, I was the one behind it, till today nobody knew that it was one of the pupils terrorising them. I hardly sleeps at night so I used most of my night terrorising those kids in my own crafted outfits I kept somewhere in the bush. 2. While still in the boarding school, I remembered sneaking out with few of my accomplices on one Friday to fortify ourselves against our different offences(sneaking to girls hostel, cooking in the dormitories, using banned items, vandalism, and stealing) so that they could be forgotten, and us, pardoned, but after all, we still chop serious beatings, heavy punishments & suspensions. 3. This indeed pained me, and I regretted it the most, I confessed eventually. I got a fully funded government scholarship, it covered virtually everything while still in the secondary school. I was still billing my parents heavily to fund my wayward lifestyles in the school. Though, I've returned it all in multiple folds & asked for their forgiveness. I still hated myself for having mind to do such at that age. So many regrettably naughty things to write, maybe one day they'll make it into a book. God really loved me. |
You and your brothers did worse in Abuja while your father was the FCT's Minister. Wrong move by Seyi, but then it's Bauchi NG. Btw, Fayose started this nonsense stomach infrastructure, now all the politicians are copying that demeaning move. |
Kobojunkie:We are the only only people out here, in this visible plane. Others are animals, entities and plants. We are in an endless quest to find meanings to our lives and bailed from emptiness. We compete with ourselves not with other creatures. You're not wrong or right, I project myself & assumed the feelings of other, I know so many people do same, afterall, we're all humans. We give purpose to those animals you mentioned, even the plants & mystical beings, we lord over them all. If we have a watcher, a supreme being out there, I'm sure he has intentions and purpose for us all too. I'm finding mine, have you found yours? |
Kobojunkie:I derives joy from helping others, I still helps in my little capacity, however, the question that always pop in my head is "why am I sent here?" You, my friend, have you discovered your purpose here? I lost my dad at his peak of his career, yesterday I almost died, though from the cause of my actions. But then, good men dies, same as bad men, and on a daily basis. Is our existense that inconsequential? |
Kobojunkie:I have so many reasons why I see knowledge as a curse, especially too much of it. If I begin to explain these reasons, I'll turn here to some literature & gothic classes. Right from my childhood, I've always believed that I have a higher purpose here. Yes, I've helped strangers, gave people hope, make people smile, I've always been a shining light to others– a reference, but still, I believed that there's more to my existence. |
Kobojunkie:I've given alms, I've volunteered in causes for humanity sake, visited the worst of the places to have share from feelings of others. Yet here I am ![]() |
StillDtruth:Knowledge itself is a curse we must learn to live with, my question is very simple though—what's the purspose of humans on earth. I've done a lot and yet I fill unfulfilled. |
Kobojunkie:I disagreed with the false sense part, it's the reality. We can exterminate all other lives of earth with minimal effort. Of course, our planet is surviving because of all the ecosystems. We all need each other but clearly, we are the superior. |
delkuf:I am currently praying, I don't want to just fake into the oblivion when the time comes without knowing why I was sent here. What's the purspose of humans on Earth? I'm sure it's more than just to whine, dine & procreate. |
Cold141114:May we find that, which we seek. |
We come here, whine and dine, until we grow old & die to become an history, it's very strange to me. Isn't life ought to be more than that? I seemed to be indifferent to all these now as I no longer finds them pleasing. Finding our purpose on here should be our number 1 priority. No matter how intelligent and beautiful/handsome we are, they all get washed our away by the tickles of time. Have you found your purpose here? How did you find it? Help me, I am still finding me. |
Everyday I wake up, eat, drink, sleep, chats, and perform a milions of gestures that constitute life on Earth, but I still keep wondering why am I here? I'm yearning for my purpose on Earth, my life seems like a primordial one, each time I feel like I've been here before—in an unfulfilled purpose lifetime. I dreamt of wars and ancient times. Maybe I was an emperor who failed in his journey of life. Now I've been given a another chance to right my old wrongs, and live a purposeful life, but I can't find the purpose. I've delved into the dark arts, trained my body to beyond human level, travelled through time and space, just to understand why I'm here, I've spent uncountable hours alone since my childhood looking for answer, yet I found nothing and still feel empty. I turned to church to get my answers, immersed myself in the gospel, loved the God's work, I gave alms, I helped folks, I've counseled, preached, I was loved by everyone who's had an encounter with me, yes! God has really blessed me in all ways, I remembered my mum & sis jokingly saying that God used the whole day to perfect me, but I still feel purposeless. I don't know why I'm here. I refused to believe in the saying that we're negligible in the scheme of things looking at the vastness of our observable universe. I am LIGHTLOVER, and I'm still searching for the answers. I'll value your inputs, my friends.
