Well my point is, if we want our schools to look like American schools we have to pay the same amounts Americans pay for their schools to work.

Even without corruption and looiting..even if we get good leaders.....the money Nigeria makes cannot raise our universities to the level of the USA.

Yet Nigerians complain about their schools not being at US level. And don't want to pay the money needed.

Well my own point is that it is outrageous to ask Nigerians the pay the same fee as those in the US are paying cause we don't earn at the same rate and our economy is nothing compared to those in the US.

Maybe if government can provide steady power supply, enabling environment for business and good policies and also increasing the minimum wage to the same level as those in other countries then we can ask people to pay the same fee as those in the US.

Simple, it proves my point. Education is not cheap. Assuming, as you did, that US parents can pay the high fees of US schools because 'they earn more' is a bad assumption. They don't, and like Nigerians , have to take loans.

Plus we do underpay our education sector. We make it relatively cheap, yet because it is cheap, our universities cannot afford a lot of things...and we produce half baked graduates...as a result.

Yes it is not cheap anywhere, I didn't say it is. So it is bad to say someone in nigeria where minimum wage is 30kpM should pay the same school fee as someone in the US where minimum wages ranges from 7$pH to 15$pH..

Universities are underfunded majorly because of government negligence and misappropriation of fund, not because the student pay less as based on the economy.

In the USA, people do not earn enough money to put their children through college. That's why most Americans take out loans to pay for their children's colleges, and even the kids hustle for things like scholarships and grants over there.(Like Rotimi has done).

And the loans are not free money. Once you get a job, you start paying back the loans. On top of your other expenses. And your children too have the same issue.

(When Obama became president of the USA, one of the first things he did was to open savings account for his 2 daughters and start saving a huge chunk of his salary as president there so that they could go to college stress free. Had he lost, his daughters would have had to take loans like other Americans.)

Some Americans do other things like side hustles, buying life insurance for their children, etc, to pay for their kids education in college.

Even then....I once heard of an American medical doctor with debts of $150000 from medical school alone.That#s par the course.

You think people don't get loan to get through school in Nigeria? Even some federal universities students that pay less than 100k still find it difficult paying their fees as at when due at resort to getting loan and some still hustle for scholarships, when you factor in the economy setting of other countries and Nigeria you will realize Nigeria school isn't really cheaper for Nigerians.

Ad there are lot of students loan and scholarships over there, here it is not the same, it is even not advisable to get a loan to see yourself to college here cause there is no guarantee you will get a job to pay back later.

I have advised Obi supporters not to be tribalistic and that only Ibo vote can't make Obi president. Someone even made a thread that hit Frontpage advising Obi supporter after that there seems to be an improvement with the way they go about, but there will always be some bad eggs that exhibit extremism and violence and Peter Obi should do well to openly disassociate himself from them.

We shouldn't lose sight of why we want Obi as president, it is not because of ibo or religion, it is because we want a better Nigeria for every Nigerians, it is because we tired of leaders who has got nothing to offer than hardship.

This set of northerns against Tinubi are staunch buhari supporters, they dislike tinubi not because he corrupt but because they don't want a southern president but because he is arrogant towards towards buhari and also because they want power to remain in the north.
