Career / Re: Married Female Staff Of Globacom Refute Claims Of Being Sacked by daruche(m): 6:16pm On Mar 11, 2018
A young woman name Ofodile Steph Chinenye took to her #Facebook page to lament that after diligently serving in Globacom for 11 years, she and about 112 other ladies were given the axe yesterday, just like that, all because they were Mrs somebodies.
Chinenye alleged that they were laid off simply because the CEO and founder of the Telecoms giant, Dr Mike Adenuga does not want married women in the company.

Stella Ogiemwonyi – Sea Petroleum & Gas
Stella Oduah Ogiemwonyi is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sea Petroleum and Gas (SPG). Born on January 5, 1962 in Onitsha, Anambra State, Stella knew exactly what she wanted from her early age. After her studies at St. Paul’s College, Lawrence Ville, Virginia in the United States in 1983, Oduah joined the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC).

Speaking in an interview some years ago, Oduah explained why she joined the government owned corporation. “I wanted to be in oil and gas, and I felt my first leg should be in a national company and NNPC happened to be the in-thing at that time. It was either NNPC or banking and I just didn’t go into banking. I wanted oil and gas and so I was lucky I passed the interviewed at NNPC and I went in,” she had responded.

In 1992, she took a bold step which confounded many of her colleagues, when she floated Sea Petroleum and Gas with a N200, 000 bank facilities. Her reason: “I don’t think I left NNPC to set up SPG. I left NNPC because I wanted to do something more challenging. I left NNPC because I wasn’t getting enough job satisfaction. That’s why I left.

She stepped boldly into a male dominated industry, threading where angels dread as she followed her passion. Oduah’s SPG has become an octopus in the oil and gas sector. She has since branched into the real estate sector in the Lekki axis in Lagos, providing office accommodation to companies like Chevron Nigeria etc.

Politics / "You Cannot Take The Swamp Out Of The Hippopotamus": Again, Soyinka Warns About by daruche(m): 4:38pm On Jul 17, 2013
For the rest, since beneath the surface of most Nigerian conflicts will be found inordinate greed for public resources, it is perhaps pertinent to remind ourselves that Oil is not the only marvel to emerge from the Delta swamps. There are also exotic creatures – mermaids, manatees, even mammy watas and hippopotami. However, unlike crude oil, which can be refined, you can extract a hippopotamus from the swamps, but you cannot take the swamp out of the hippopotamus.

Health / Healthy Living And You - How To Lose Weight by daruche(m): 2:11pm On Dec 05, 2012
How do i loose weight and keep it off cont'd

Reduce portion sizes- Most times we underestimate the quantity of foods we eat. Are you eating larger and larger portions when you have a meal? Deliberately try to take smaller portions when you have a meal. Do not feel that you have to empty your plate. Perhaps change the plates in your cupboard (which may be large) to more medium-sized plates. In this way you will naturally serve up smaller portions. If you have been eating 5-6 slices of white bread with two fried eggs and 2 tablespoon of butter and a cup of chocolate for breakfast, reduce to 2-3 slices of wheat bread, with 1 boiled egg, half teaspoon of reduced fat margarine with warm skimmed milk. This is just one example of how to reduce portion sizes. Generally, in this part of our world, we eat large and reducing portion sizes will surely help in weight loss.
Eat regularly- Apart from not skipping breakfast, you should eat small, regular meals. An ideal pattern would be a breakfast, a mid-afternoon snack, a lunch, a late-afternoon snack and an evening meal. Ensure the content of these meals are healthy, low in fat, and sugar and includes plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eating regularly helps to keep your blood sugar levels even, keeps you feeling full, help you cope better psychologically with eating fewer calories, and helps to avoid bingeing.
Set realistic goals- A general saying Rome was not built in a day is applicable also in losing weight. Since weight gain did not happen overnight, so also weight loss. It is best not to lose weight too fast. You should aim to lose weight gradually. If you lose more than a kilogram per week, you may lose muscle tissue rather than fat and this isn’t sustainable weight loss. So it is recommended that you lose an average of 0.5 to 1kg per week {about 1-2 lb per week}
Introduce changes gradually- Small changes can make a big difference. One extra biscuit a week can lead you to gain 5lb a year – cut that biscuit out of your diet and you'll lose the same amount. You're also more likely to stick to, say, swapping full-fat milk for semi-skimmed or making time for breakfast each morning than a diet that sets rules for all foods. You should think of weight loss in terms of permanently changing your eating habits. While weight-loss goals are usually set in term of weeks, the end game is to sustain these changes over months and years, ie lifestyle change for life
Be consistent- Long term weight loss requires consistence in exercise and healthy eating as well as self-monitoring. Don’t give up on your goals, keep up with your daily physically activity and daily make healthy choices about food intake and with time you begin to see the result you desire.
Be patient and persevere- On your weight loss journey, you need to be patient to achieve the result of permanent weight loss. Depending on the level of your physical activity and the disciplines being put into eating healthy, it might take a week or two before you notice any changes, but they will steadily appear.
Have a right mindset- To achieve anything you need to have a right mindset and focus. It’s the most important step in any weight loss programme. The fact is that if you want to lose weight effectively, you will need to train your mind to do it. You will need to be focused on what you want, why you want it and what you are prepared to do to get it. Your mind is responsible for determining your perception of reality. It literally defines the world in which you live. Losing weight is hard work and you will need to be committed and focused and it will take time.
Harness the power of visualization to your advantage- visualization is thinking in pictures. By keeping a mental picture of your desired weight foremost in your mind, your reality will align to conform to that picture. Life happens from the inside out, not the other way round. Use the power of your imagination to create the life you really want.
If you really want to lose it, you can. Nothing or no one can stop you except you. You need to see it first in your mind. CAN YOU

Have you sat down to imagine, what Nigeria will look like in the next 4 years? If a bank is set up mainly to develop the nation economy, let us ignore the name and save our future. Please, Pastor Bakare had said the absolute truth. We are allowing our Religious leaders' to blind fold us. If fund is available for the roadside pepper-seller or vulcanizer to do biz, the economy will grow. We should think like a literate people that want to see our children grow up in a better Nigeria, than our generation.

Wishing you a resounding success in 2009.

Year 2009 Prophesy from Pastor E.A Adeboye, General Overseer, RCCG.

First category: Universal

This will be the year of joy to the wise
As stars at midnight, the economic gloom that is coming upon the world will produce some very bright spot .( it means that; in spite of the economic problem that the world is going to have this year, some children of God is going to have financial breakthrough)
Every year has its up and down, 2009 will be no exception in that regard. However for the children of God the ups will out way the down in magnitude and frequency. In other words the great day for the children of God will be greater than the gloom day.
Concentrated prayers are needed to reduce the frequency and intensity of natural disaster. Flood, hurricane, earthquake, tornadoes are coming, but God say if you pray concentrated prayers their frequency and intensity will be reduce.
Pray against assassination attempt against world leaders.
Second category: For Nigeria

Intensify your prayers for the president
Nigeria will be given a new opportunity for peace and tranquility, pray that it will not be wasted.
Those who have made money their gods will discover it has strong wings.
Problems will drive many back to God; with the end result of heavenly joy.
Pray against suicide among the high and mighty.
The summary of these prophesies is: JOY TO THE WISE.

Beloved, we are almost there!  The year is about rounding up.  And there is something about rounding up the year- The Lord crowns it (or rounds it up) with His goodness.  I thank God for all the testimonies to prove God is still crowning our year with His goodness in our lives.

Sing Halleluyah with me folks!  Just 2 days ago (Sunday) around 3.30pm, I heard the sound of gun very close to my apartment- not really sure where it came from.  The next thing was my wife who was lying down on the bed calling me to come that something sprayed on her.  On checking, I discovered a small hole on the ceiling and I knew it has to be bullet because of the sound I just heard.  Lo and behold, there was the bullet on the bed, not too far from where my wife laid.  The ceiling fragments sprayed on her (as the bullet entered from the roof!) but the bullet did not touch her!  I am keeping the bullet as a sign of God's steadfast love and faithfulness that did not allow me to mourn.

What shall I say to this God?  Papa, you too much!!!!

Psa 150:1  PRAISE THE Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the heavens of His power!
Psa 150:2  Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness! [Deut. 3:24; Ps. 145:5, 6.]
Psa 150:3  Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp!
Psa 150:4  Praise Him with tambourine and [single or group] dance; praise Him with stringed and wind instruments or flutes!
Psa 150:5  Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!
Psa 150:6  Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

THATS IS AWESOME GOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wassup my saints? hope you are all growing strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

I'm currently getting a crash course in what it means to trust God. I've realized that we can say all day long and quote scriptures morn till dawn but when the situation arises it is an entirely different ball-game. When you don't know what you're going to do or from where your help is going to come - God asks that we trust in Him. The waiting part is the hardest, but it is also the part where you learn the most lessons and the strength or weakness of your faith is exposed.

Je Soul GOd Bless u!!!
My brethren, this is where your FAITH comes into play a major role in the situation of your life. I believe so many of us had heard the story behind the song TRUST AND OBEY, the man who compose the song found himself in similar position and didnt know where to go again after loosing his entire family to ship wreck,
All he could say his just to TRUST AND OBEY,

Phemmy400, God is on the Throne!!this is my message for you at this time,

God Blessings to my fellow soldier of Christ,
