Okay, am developing interests in packaging a project proposal for one of the Govt Ministries in Delta State. Online branding including website development and social media. I am going to put in my all in all in developing the proposal. As for submission, i have some access to the Director & Commissioner. God help me.

Also, i promised some pics. They are not much but you can view them below. The first is a pic i took in the government secondary school where i was check the result of all the JSS 3 students, while the second is me in the office during a meeting on Skype with a client in the States.

Houstency: I lyk ur determination n resolve to make it big.. May d good lord bless u beyond ur imagination.. Amen. . Hw much wud it cost me, if u were to build an ecommerce site for me??
If you need something with a very good standard, it will cost you from N150,000.

If you need something local but still nice with a low budget, then N50,000 would do it.

Questions:
What products do you want to showcase?
Are they your products or you are selling for others?
Do you have a physical shop and just wish to enlist all your shop products online?
Do you want an online payment process?
How many products do you have to showcase?
Do you have products graphics or do i design them?
Do i handle the social media integration?

The answer to these questions will help me streamline how the project will go and peg a direct price to it. If you are around Delta State, you can come over so we work on it. But if you are far across, we can still work together via emails and skype.

BusinessHow Alibaba's Jack Ma Became The Richest Man In China. by databoy247(op): 8:04pm On Sep 23, 2014
English teacher and Internet entrepreneur Jack Ma founded Alibaba 15 years ago in his tiny apartment in Hanzhou, China. On Friday, Ma became the richest man in China on the heels of the biggest IPO in U.S. and possibly world history.

With a market cap of $231 billion, the online retailer is nearly as valuable as Wal-Mart and bigger than Amazon and eBay combined.

And this is just the beginning. Alibaba plans to expand aggressively in America and Europe and has already invested nearly $1 billion in a host of U.S.-based startups, including Uber, Lyft, ShopRunner, Fanatics, Tango and Kabam.

Every current and aspiring entrepreneur and business leader should learn from how a Chinese English teacher turned a vision, a group of friends and $60,000 into untold riches and the world's most valuable Internet commerce company. It will no doubt be studied in business schools for generations.

Start here, go anywhere. Recognizing the importance of English, young Ma would ride his bike to a nearby hotel and guide foreigners around the city just to learn and practice the language. His passion for entrepreneurship in many ways parallels Masayoshi Son who grew up poor, followed his dream to Silicon Valley and graduated from U.C. Berkeley before founding Softbank. As chairman of Softbank and Sprint, Son is now the richest man in Japan.

He had vision … and he had help. Ma saw the Internet’s enormous potential to bridge businesses across China’s huge population early on. So he and his wife brought 17 friends together and pooled $60,000 to start the company. That formed the basis for the company’s dynamic partnership structure and unique culture designed to drive collaboration, diminish bureaucracy and promote accountability for long-term growth.

Go big or go home. Even if crowdfunding existed when Alibaba was founded, I doubt if Ma would have gone that route. He’s simply not a “dip your toe in the water” kind of guy. Instead he and his friends went all in, raising a $5 million angel round, $20 million from Softbank in 2000, $1 billion from Yahoo five years later, and $1.6 billion from Silver Lake Partners and DST Global in 2011. That’s how you make it big.

Big problems lead to big opportunities. China’s lack of brick and mortar infrastructure has always been an insurmountable hurdle for the enormous nation’s small business merchants. Alibaba solved that and now accounts for 80% of the country’s ecommerce – a whopping $248 billion last year and more than twice that of Amazon.

Innovation comes from unique individuals who think and act differently. Everyone talks about changing the world and making tons of money these days, but those who actually do it are exceptional individuals with breakthrough ideas, uncommon vision and a passion to do great work. Disruptive innovation comes from people who break from the status quo and carve their own path.

Stand on the shoulders of giants ... but learn from their mistakes. Like Amazon and eBay, Alibaba is an Internet commerce company, but that’s where the similarity ends. Alibaba does not actually hold inventory or sell goods. It’s a middleman that collects annual fees and commissions from larger merchants and advertising fees from smaller ones. The result is one of the most scalable and profitable business models on Earth.

What’s in a name? Less than you think. Apple. Facebook. Google. Microsoft. Uber. One Kings Lane. Fanatics. Starbucks. Whole Foods. What do the names and brands of all these companies have in common? Absolutely nothing. Some are conjunctions or made-up words. Others are common words or phrases. There’s even a fruit. It’s what your business does for customers that counts … not your name or personal brand.

Jack Ma was sitting in a San Francisco coffee shop when he thought of how Ali Baba overheard the secret password of The 40 Thieves -- “open sesame” -- and unlocked untold riches. It resonated with his vision of unlocking the potential of China’s small and midsized merchants. Now you know the secret of how he accomplished his dream.

UPDATES

By the Grace of God, the company is growing and moving on. Despite the numerous challenges frequently encountered by start-ups. We are still searching for our first major indigenous contract though it's not been easy. We are also currently engaged in some side-kicks and i just hope we dont get distracted, cos these side-kicks can swallow up your time and before you know it, you will stop putting efforts in your initial purpose. As for me, am trying to balance my time and schedule, trying as much as possible to create time for my contract pursuits and at least making a major move once or twice weekly.

Lessons;
In a start-up, its very easy for you to get carried away with so many things and at the end you may lose focus. And when you lose focus, it all starts crumbling. My self inflicted rules of engagement are;

1. I have pegged once a month for a major event. It means every month i must do something major. It's going to keep me busy and i will have something to look forward to every month. This month was so jam-packed that i couldn't fix any event coupled with the fact that i was still "setting up shop". Next month am organizing a computer training (engineering) program which will last for one week with a target of 50 participants. I am already working towards it.

2. Am learning how to save. It means that i record every transaction and whatever i earn during working hours, i NEVER take home. I dont buy anything, and i dont spend from it. On Friday morning i will ask my assistant to gather all that have been earned over the week and pay in the bank. That way, at the end of the month i should be able to say i have earn this amount and no matter how small, it will serve as an encouragement. By God's Grace, after 3 months or thereabout i should be able to at the beginning of the month withdraw a certain amount for imprest (office logistics) from earnings of the previous month.

3. In the office, working hours are working hours. I always tell my assistant, "If there is no job to do, then practice your CorelDraw". You must be busy except break time. From my experience, principles like this always makes an organization wax stronger.

Back to current engagements;
Junior WAEC result is out. And i was contracted by one of these government secondary school principals to come over and help the school check results for all the students (more than a hundred of them), i started today and will be through by Friday by God's grace. It was really stressful moving my equipments down there (computer, printer, generator, etc). Next month i was also asked to return and handle the passport photographs of all the students that will be enrolling for WAEC.

BusinessList Of Businesses You Can Do This Upcoming Xmas Season And Make Good Money ;D by databoy247(op): 11:48am On Sep 22, 2014
There are alot of businesses you can do this upcoming Xmas season that can guaranty you some good earnings and make you smile to the bank by January. Some of them are;

1. Hair/Weavon Business.
If you are skilled in making of hairs (for women) then this is your season. The wise ones will start placing orders for virtually all kinds of weavon, both the expensive and cheap. In the peak of the season, you can do wholesale or retail and make good money.

2. kids shoes and footwear.
In case you dont know, the only time parents cannot dodge the buying of shoes/footwears for their kids is xmas season. If you are in the business, you can go to Onitsha, Aba, Lagos, or better still order from the US or China (or where ever will be cheap and easy for you). You can make over 100% profit from this business come this Xmas period.

3. Photography
If you are already in the business, good! Get yourself equipped cos the coming season is when you will make some big bucks. You know how it works.

4. Chicken/turkey
Everybody cooks chicken for Christmas. If you dont sell chicken, you will sell turkey. Now is the best time to buy at least a month old chickens...feed them properly from now till December and make sales to earn good returns.

5. Hampack
You can start buy the items gradually for your hampacks. This period you can start moving from organization to banks to churches, etc and start negotiating the supply of hampacks to them which they ALWAYS give out to their customers and partners. You can really make some good money here too.

6. Rice
If you have good money to invest then, this is good too. You can start ordering bags of rice and storing in your warehouse. Also you can move around negotiating the supply of rice to organizations and politicians which they also give out as gift items.

7. Catering/baking
Xmas season is always a rush for caterers. You must not be a big timer. If you know how to cook, print business cards, flyers and start distributing. ALOT of people get married in December and surely its a time for you to cook plenty of rice and bake plenty of cakes.

If you know more opportunities, you can add them. Take advantage of the upcoming season and smile to the bank in January. Dont be among those who complain when January arrives.

44chux: Hope u went 4 d partnership. Most people having time and funds will either require u present matching funds before they partner or they go solo.
Leverage is everything. Its not easy to get any partner to take 100% financial risk of a venture in Nigeria given our unsecured business operating environment.

REMEMBER:
1. If d biz were secured, the banks would have approached u.
2. Leverage is y d rich get richer n d poor get poorer. This is y Igbos being very good at small businesses, never make it bigtyme: coz they dont like d idea of making money 4 someone else even wit mutual benefits
Thanks for your advice but i didnt accept the partnership. My business is still young and i believe i need to find some footing before i start seeking investors. No matter how small, i believe i can make it grow and when that happens, better offers will come. I also received an invitation from a french mobile company that specialize in powerful android smartphones and they need outlets across the country to partner with for their mass roll out anytime soon. I have submitted my data and currently awaiting further communication. If my office becomes one of the major outlets for Delta State representing the company, investors will knock on my door. You know how it is with TECNO major outlets. And from what i have seen so far, this company is far better than TECNO. I still keep my fingers crossed sha.

The secretary i employed has been fired by me. angry She is inconsistent and not a serious fellow. I have employed another lad, so i hope he performs better.

Also i have not stopped spending money. undecided Banners, i just bought another printer (for digital passports), digital camera, digitalpersona fingerprint scanner, etc. Also working on becoming an accredited center (not yet directly, but under a major agent) for JAMB, WAEC and NECO registration.

My target?? N10,000 daily income when there are no contracts. grin

Romance7 Most Disgusting Things We Do For Our Beloved by databoy247(op): 5:54am On Sep 10, 2014
How low do we sometimes fall to prove how committed we are to someone?

Actually, some of the so-called nasty things do not look too nasty when we genuinely love someone. The things listed below might turn your stomach, but I am pretty sure you have also done something of the sort. Surprisingly enough, most people have and always will. Why? That’s simply because they love each other.
You love yourself and this explains why you do not feel disgusted with yourself when you are trying to squeeze that annoying acne. We are human beings and everyday routine teaches us to tolerate ourselves and others.
We have listed 7 most disgusting things that people are ready to do for their partners. Let’s see how far love can take us. And would you be ready and willing to do any of these for your spouse?

1. Rubbing feet.
Both genders find feet too gross to touch. And no, we are not now talking about foot fetishists who can spend hours touching someone’s feet. Yet we readily give our partner foot massage if we know this will help them relax and feel healthier.

2. Squeezing zits.
Have you ever been asked by your spouse to see what’s there on his back? If so, then, as a rule, it all ends up with you trying to squeeze that nasty thing out. Every lady is sensitive. And touching acne is not the most pleasant things for us to do. But nothing is impossible for a woman who is deeply in love with her man.

3. Empty the cat’s litter.
Do you hate cats? Who cares! If, let’s say, your wife is pregnant, you will do all possible to make your feel happier. Expecting a baby is always an exciting event for the couple. If taking care of a cat’s poo is a big deal and causes problems then how about your baby’s poo and vomit? You do want to be a good husband and dad, don’t you? Then practice on your cat for a while! Try and learn to tolerate or even like doing what you have hated so far. After all, your wife is going through hard times as well. Appreciate it because she is doing it for you, too.

4. Clean up vomit.
Cleaning up your baby’s vomit is one thing. But what if the “baby” is around your own age? Well, then that’s a different story. No doubt cleaning this nasty stuff up is no fun, but you realize that when your spouse is sick you are the only person around to help him or her out.

5. Picking teeth.
In comparison to the 4 previously mentioned things this one sounds quite ok. If you haven’t yet been asked to see if something is stuck in your hubby’s teeth, then, I can assure you, it will soon happen. Luckily, most couples do not find it appalling and gladly dig out whatever is stuck in-between their spouse’s teeth.

6. Using the bathroom together.
I am not talking about you and your hubby taking shower together. That is absolutely romantic and would be included in the list of thing we enjoy. I am talking about you taking a shower and your spouse using the toilet at the same time. Men might be less sensitive about this topic while ladies, especially those who consider themselves clean freaks, find this awfully nasty. Whether you like it or not, some couples do this.

7. “Bump” inspection.
This procedure involves examining your partner’s itchy and painful spots on his body. Usually it’s his back and there is no other way for him to see and figure out how to solve the problem. Playing a doctor. Hmmm.

BusinessRe: Why Do $1=N162 Everywhere While China Peeps Take $1=N168???? by databoy247(op): 12:56am On Sep 06, 2014
eph12: Shippers pay the airlines cash and with dollars not naira. Now many times I have gone to different banks to ask if they can change my naira to dollar for me but the reply I get is no. So please tell me where else you can get dollars to buy if not bureau d'change and our Hausa brothers? Guess how much they sell their dollars to you? Getting from our Hausa brothers is far easier but more expensive. Please next time when you have goods to clear and you are told to bring a certain amount in dollars, please make sure you take your dollar to them and you'll be fine. Look for where to buy dollar yourself and take it there instead of offering to pay the equivalent in naira.
Thanks.
Okay, but that explains why it's so with shippers. Now what about the importers themselves? If i come to you as an importer to maybe help me buy a TV and well all know you will place the order with probably your GTBank mastercard and i believe if there are chargers, it wont be much. Here there are no physical dollar payments so why now charge me $1=N168?

I have made payments using my GTbank mastercard severally (buying of domain names, etc) and the exchange rate isnt N168. So how do you guys explain this?
BusinessWhy Do $1=N162 Everywhere While China Peeps Take $1=N168???? by databoy247(op): 12:30am On Sep 06, 2014
When you ask some peeps to get some stuff for you from China, including freight forwarders, they tell you that $1=N168. But every other place i check, its $1=N162. I have checked with my bank, and virtually all the currency converter sites (with updated data) and they all say the current exchange rate is $1=N162.

China importers and freight forwarders, why is your own exchange rate different from the rest? Please i do not understand why its like this so i will be happy if one of you can explain please. Maybe there is something i do not know. angry
