If you're a business man with alot to risk, you won't make new products and hope it succeeds because if it doesn't you'll loose so much in capital, customer base and all, its much safer to copy whats already working than trying something new and probably hoping it sells, they just copy whats selling and refuse to take risks and I don't really blame them, as for nokia they overestimated how much loyalty thier products commanded, just like iPhones that churns out what they like because of a strong customer base, they refuse to innovate but they don't command same authority as iphones so everyone ran.
