You don't understand it that's why, it's the tradition where I'm from as well, but in our own case, you won't die if you're oblivious of the fact that your wife cheats, you will only die if someone has warned you about her cheating and you turned a blind eye, or you heard she's cheating but you didn't act, or you suspected she's cheating and you didn't act on it as well. Or you know she's cheating but still continue with her as your wife or you overlook it, the moment you get that suspicion or info your wife is cheating, you stop sleeping with her, stop eating her food, stop giving her money to cook for you, stop your kids from calling her mother and for your safety she should move out, the tradition is barbaric but it is what it is.
