Deltavariant:I'm talking about act here |
Russian airlines are being forced to take a roundabout route to and from its Kaliningrad enclave on the Baltic Sea as European Union nations shut their airspace to Russia's aircraft. Kaliningrad, a 15,000 sq km (9,320 sq miles) piece of land that belongs to Russia, is located 300 km west of the mainland and is sandwiched between the Baltic and EU member states Lithuania and Poland. Instead of flying directly over Latvia and Lithuania, Russian planes are now forced to fly north towards St Petersburg then around the Baltic coast. Canada has become the latest country, alongside EU nations and Britain, to ban Russian planes from its airspace. In a retaliatory move, Russia's national airline Aeroflot has said it is cancelling all flights to European destinations. |
Now I am sure Russia is not that strong like they have made everyone to think. Common war inside and within Ukraine, Russia no fit win, and na dem invade. What if it was the other way round? |

Fifa has told Russia to complete their upcoming games in neutral territory under the name the Football Union of Russia without their flag and anthem following the invasion of Ukraine. Several nations have announced they will refuse to play Russia, including England and Wales, as well as Poland, the Czech Republic and Sweden. World Cup 2022 play-offs would see Russia face Poland before facing either the Czech Republic or Sweden if they win - and are scheduled to be played in March. Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a military invasion of neighbouring Ukraine on Thursday. Polish football association president Cezary Kulesza said Fifa's decision was "totally unacceptable", while the Swedish FA and the Czech Republic FA reiterated their stances that they would not play Russia. "We are not interested in participating in this game of appearances. Our stance remains intact: Polish National Team will not play with Russia, no matter what the name of the team is," he said. Swedish FA president Karl-Erik Nilsson told Fotbollskanalen they were "not satisfied" with Fifa's decision. He said: "Our opinion is not different today and the situation has not changed in Ukraine just because we have received the message from Fifa, so we have no other opinion today. "We also want to talk to Poland and the Czech Republic so that we can give back to Fifa what we think, but we had expected a sharper stance from Fifa. We would have done so." The women's European Championship takes place in England in July and Sweden, along with the Netherlands and Switzerland, are in the same group as Russia. Fifa said talks will take place with other sporting organisations over whether Russia should be expelled from competitions. "Fifa would like to reiterate its condemnation of the use of force by Russia in its invasion of Ukraine," world football's governing body said in a statement on Sunday. "Violence is never a solution and Fifa expresses its deepest solidarity to all people affected by what is happening in Ukraine. "Fifa will continue its ongoing dialogue with the International Olympic Committee, Uefa and other sport organisations to determine any additional measures or sanctions, including a potential exclusion from competitions, that shall be applied in the near future should the situation not be improving rapidly. "Fifa's thoughts remain with everybody affected by this shocking and worrying situation." Earlier on Sunday, the Football Association announced England will not play any international matches against Russia at any level following the invasion of Ukraine. The FA said it "wholeheartedly condemns the atrocities being committed by the Russian leadership". English football's governing body said the boycott of matches will be "for the foreseeable future". The Football Association of Wales condemned Russia's invasion and said it "stands in solidarity with Ukraine and feels an extreme amount of sadness and shock to the recent developments in the country". It added that Wales will not "play any international fixtures against Russia for the foreseeable future, at any level of the game".

Chelsea's Russian owner Roman Abramovich says he is "giving trustees of Chelsea's charitable foundation the stewardship and care" of the club. Abramovich, who will remain the club's owner, has made the move amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The decision also comes a day before Chelsea play Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. "I have always taken decisions with the club's best interest at heart," Abramovich said in a statement. "I remain committed to these values. That is why I am today giving trustees of Chelsea's charitable Foundation the stewardship and care of Chelsea FC. "I believe that currently they are in the best position to look after the interests of the club, players, staff, and fans." His statement did not reference the invasion of Ukraine. The Chelsea Supporters' Trust said it was "seeking urgent clarification" on what the statement means for the running of the club. It is not known yet if Abramovich will be sanctioned as part of the UK government's measures against Russia. BBC Sport understands Chelsea are not for sale, and the £1.5bn loan their owner gave to the club is not being called in. Abramovich is one of Russia's richest people and is believed to be close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He added: "During my nearly 20-year ownership of Chelsea FC, I have always viewed my role as a custodian of the club, whose job it is ensuring that we are as successful as we can be today, as well as build for the future, while also playing a positive role in our communities." The Chelsea Foundation runs the club's community and education departments as well as other charitable activities. Its chairman is US lawyer Bruce Buck, who is also chairman of the club as a whole. The foundation's other trustees are Chelsea women's team manager Emma Hayes, the club's director of finance Paul Ramos, British Olympic Association chair Sir Hugh Robertson, Fare (Football Against Racism in Europe) chief Piara Powar and lawyer John Devine. During Abramovich's time at Chelsea, the club have won the Champions League twice, both the Premier League and FA Cup five times, the Europa League twice and the League Cup three times. In August 2021, they won the Uefa Super Cup and they recently won their first Club World Cup, meaning the Blues have won every possible trophy under Abramovich's ownership. Earlier in the week, Labour's Chris Bryant told MPs he had a leaked Home Office document that suggested Abramovich should not be able to base himself in the UK. Downing Street would not be drawn on the claims about Abramovich made in the House of Commons. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel had said on Friday there were "so many uncertainties around the situation of our club" following Russia's invasion of a neighbouring country. The Chelsea Supporters' Trust said it was "ready to work with the trustees of the Chelsea Foundation in order to ensure the long-term interests of the club and supporters". It added: "We stand with the people of Ukraine."

France has intercepted and impounded a Russian-flagged cargo ship suspected of breaching sanctions imposed because of the invasion of Ukraine. The ship, the Baltic Leader, was heading from the north-western French city of Rouen to St Petersburg in Russia with a cargo of new cars. It is being held at the Channel port of Boulogne. Russian state media say the vessel is owned by a subsidiary of a bank targeted in recent EU and US sanctions. A regional French official said such a measure was rare, but called it a sign of firmness. The US Treasury Department has issued blocking sanctions against the vessel, saying it is owned by a subsidiary of Promsvyazbank, one of the Russian financial institutions hit by sanctions. However, the bank has said it no longer owns the Baltic Leader. It told Reuters news agency that the ship was sold to another firm before the sanctions were imposed. French officials said they were checking whether the vessel was linked to Russian financial interests and that the crew were "being co-operative". The process could take up to 48 hours, they added. The Russian embassy in Paris said it would send a note of protest to the French foreign ministry over the seizure.

The worrying incident occurred ahead of a meeting with Sampaio Correa, which the Salvador-based side ultimately prevailed 2-0 in. There had been serious questions asked of whether the game should take place after an explosive device ripped a hole in the side of Bahia’s bus, causing serious damage to the vehicle and unsuspecting victims travelling with and alongside the Campeonato Baiano outfit. Bomb explodes inside team bus of Brazilian club Bahia as goalkeeper Danilo Fernandes hospitalised in 'attack'. The frightening incident happened ahead of a game against Sampaio Correa, which ultimately went ahead despite injuries being suffered Brazilian side Bahia took to the field on Thursday evening despite a pre-match “attack” on their team bus that saw a bomb explode, leaving goalkeeper Danilo Fernandes hospitalised and two other players injured. What has been said? Bahia posted on social media shortly after the incident took place: "Esporte Clube Bahia reports that a bomb exploded inside the team's bus on arrival at Fonte Nova and players were injured. "The most worrying case is that of goalkeeper Danilo Fernandes, who was hit by shrapnel in the face and has already been taken to a hospital. The team will discuss if the game [will go ahead]. "A car that was passing alongside the bus, at the height of the last viaduct of Av. Bonoco, driven by a woman, was also hit." Why did the game go ahead? While it would have been easy for Bahia to cancel a meeting with Sampaio Correa after becoming caught up in unfortunate events, the decision was taken for the match to go ahead. Head coach Guto Ferreira said: "The group, through its dignity and professionalism, will enter the field to honour the colours of Bahia." The club posted at the final whistle: "They decided to take the field and honour the shirt. "The team beat Sampaio Correa 2-0, goals from Daniel and Rodallega, and advances in the Copa do Nordeste on the night of a regrettable attack on the club's bus." Are the injured players okay? Club doctor Rafael Garcia revealed after the game that Matheus Bahia and Marcelo Cirino had also sustained injuries alongside goalkeeper Danilo. All three are recovering well, with Bahia announcing on Twitter: "Danilo Fernandes is fine, but will spend the night in the hospital. "The goalkeeper had multiple injuries to his face, neck and lower limbs, which had to be stitched up, and will be under observation for further examinations, and an ophthalmologist's evaluation, as there is a cut near the eye."

The kick-off of football matches in Italy will be delayed by five minutes to raise awareness about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Every official football match in the country, from Serie A to non-professional leagues, will be pushed back by five minutes this weekend, the FIGC announced. ‘All the players will unite in a single testimony of peace, raising awareness of the respect for human life and the need to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Ukraine,’ a FIGC statement read. “The universal values of sport require us to reflect. We do not want to turn away,” said FIGC President Gabriele Gravina. “Interpreting a widespread sentiment in Italian public opinion, which also crosses our world, we want to send a clear message: the national football movement is sensitive and very concerned about what is happening in these hours. Sport does not make politics but loudly calls for peace.”

Amid hike in price of cooking gas, Nigerian man invents stove that uses water to cook; seeks FG’s support. Hadi Usman, a 67-year-old talented Nigerian man from the Jekadafari area of Gombe State, has invented a water-cooking stove in response to the country’s rising cooking gas prices. Usman is said to have been responsible for a slew of unusual and noteworthy inventions in the past. He is known for putting together a radio transmitter and running a community radio station. The 67-year-old man wants the federal government to assist him in mass-producing his water-powered cooking stove in order to mitigate the negative effects that the rising price of cooking gas has on Nigerians. “I wish relevant institutions and bodies can support towards patenting the project for mass production to at least help the without buying kerosene or gas to cook their food by using water,” Hadi said.

English teams and their politics football. No english team is good at playing football without politics. English teams are winning football games and some tournaments based on common agreement with other major European leagues. England remitting to other major European leagues like serie A, la liga, bundesliga and ligue 1, through huge transfer fees. Football is business. I pity anyone killing themselves all in the name of a "fan". |

New Zealand defender Meikayla Moore scored three own goals and was substituted before half-time in a heavy defeat by the United States at the SheBelieves Cup. Moore, who plays for Championship leaders Liverpool, scored twice at the wrong end in the first six minutes. Things got worse for Moore when she poked another one past goalkeeper Erin Nayler before half-time. Ashley Hatch and Mallory Pugh also scored for the US in the second half. Moore's hat-trick of own goals - scored with her left foot, right foot and a header - came before she was substituted in the 40th minute and it contributed to New Zealand's second defeat at the SheBelieves Cup. They lost 1-0 to Iceland on Friday, while the US drew with the Czech Republic. "Each player who has played, and it doesn't matter what level, has great games and tough games, and 'Mouse' (Moore) had a tough day at the office," said New Zealand coach Jitka Klimkova. "Obviously, she's sad and disappointed, but she's an unbelievable person and player who belongs on this team. We are all behind her in this tough moment for her." Both teams play their remaining fixture on Wednesday with New Zealand taking on the Czech Republic and the US facing Iceland.
