Lol... Mehn! Not impressed with the picture tactics sha, esp the player's positionings.
Is it from Twitter you got the tactical analysis from??
Yeah, Twitter. There's a Matthew guy that give pinpoint details of what Arteta's tryna do over 90mins. grin

He also derives what opponents play and how Arteta reacts to them.

One thing is sure from his analysis:- Arteta doesn't adjust his tactics when the opponents are at advantage tactically And goalwise until last 5mins. Very stale and annoying.

He sticks to his plan when its not working and comes to give talk at postmatch press. Smh.

This means one thing

Even if we buy haaland, if that's how its always going to be, COyg go visit Championship.

Wenger ball requires technical midfielders with low centre of gravity and positional freedom especially among the front three.

Arteta insists that players maintain their positions. It's ok if you have intelligent runners, and through ball specialists. But lo.
That robotic think would obviously not work on Auba and Odegaard. I think the only person he gives freewill too and its obvious, is ESR.

Meaning that Torriera fits that Wengerball then.

There's space on that left wing for him to claim. That Saka was played there is bad for him. He has to up his game and fast. I like him really, I like his passion and drive and really hope he claims that spot. Let Saka and Pepe drag the RW.
As for me, I'd rather a new LW is gotten. Experienced one. Then let Nelli get his chances at either the 9 or the LW. But as they said, Arteta has the walls of his home scattered with tactics and formations and he definitely overthinks.

Auba 4goals already. I think Laca will be back soon tho.

He will get his chance in the cup game alongside Tavares. That chance will be golden for him. He has to score and assist, else the bench will be longer.
There should be some sort of ting among the fans that no extra campaign going on. But it isn't there. Well lets looo forward to the cup games.

Just watched a clip where Pires did one Ozil type of chip assist for Toure. He had Thierry nearby and someone else open but chose to gift Toure, who buried it past the Leeds Gk.

Class.

If Wengerball can just return to current Arsenal.... Its going to be sweet.

Now its just anywhere belle face.

Martinelli can't play as a 9 unless we're using a fluid front three. He and KT rarely gel because he likes to drift to the bye line instead of cutting inside. This leaves little space for Tierney to execute his anywhere belle face crosses. Martinelli needs to play closer to the box. He is a wide forward, not a winger.
Exactly my point. That Winger thing isnt going to bring the best out of him. And he really needs confidence right now.

Martinelli was meant to fill the role, but he is falling short if expectations. He had chances to play there in our previous three matches but didn't take them.
But i think the lab experiments of coachito is what's making it look like Nelli is that bad. Especially as KT doesn't gel with him any time he plays there. Might be wrong. But i think 9 is okay for him.

If Pepe is trusted, Nelli should be more...

Can't but agree Pepe needs be faster at closing down spaces. Especially when no defenders are there if he beats his immediate marker. Auba showed him on Saturday. He can take a clue.

Meanwhile.... Martinelli?

Where's he?

Did Ben White really impress you guys? Noticed we didn't even talk about that.

This game wasn't Saka's. If we had European Campaigns, I'd have said he sits the next game out. But we don't have. He should be given rest regardless.

KT had over 7crosses, none was converted. Is this just an experiment of attacking strategy or the aim is to get at least 1goal out of every 6 KT cross? Or its about Norwich defending well? We should be raking goals from this angle at least. Lots of unlucky chances yesterday. I hope that is sustained. And i also hope the boldness teams get that we will still commit, reduces.

Almost every team has that believe now. That should change before our Boxing Day game vs Norwich.

No, you don't get to do that. You don't get to pin pepe's inability to trap the ball, lack of close control, indecision right in the middle of a dribble, etc....all on RB's. He needs to work on himself first, get his confidence back before u can make RB excuse for him.
.
By the way he's played with at least 2 other RB's except chambers and still he's still been the same ol pepe. Even if they sign Alxander-Arnold to play behind him, if he doesn't sort himself out he will still be the same ol Pepe.
Lol.

Mine is not total exoneration for his Performance. I know its typical of Arsenal fans to have an MVP scapegoat every game. However, he's no Messi or Robben. I hope he becomes Robben tho grin

Till then, its gonna be same ol pepe, but if the role he plays can't be taken advantage of at least twice per 90 by his teammates then same ol ol. Till then.

BlueRayDick:
Pepe deserves the amount of stick he's getting because he fails at the basic things he ought to be doing as a footballer. It's agreed he's a good set piece taker, can curl the ball if he's given enough space to think and take action......but downside of his game being his inability to trap the ball , dribbling while leaving the ball behind him....etc makes it difficult to cut him some slack.
Let's not also forget the painful inability for the guy behind him to sense opportunities, plus the lack of technical support the nearest Midfielder is giving. That Chelsea game showed why Pepe will continue to get the stick all cos his teammates don't take advantage of the fact that he drags defenders to himself. Even if Pepe is foolish, can't the manager try something to take advantage of such? Can't he?

Most goals he scored, we see the spaces he was given. Intact not all were enough but he still curved it in. For me, something needs be done for that aspect, especially someone that understands his game in that RB position.

Every footballer, swift at foot and always closed down have one or two players that help unlock spaces.

Until then, that RW will continue to be fruitless when it comes to chances created/goals.

Should i add that Chambers understand Saka more too?

I don't like the idea of playing Smith Rowe on the wings ; I think he's best suited for the AM role. I believe signing Odegaard shouldn't necessarily mean both Odegaard and Smith Rowe must be on the pitch.

I prefer the normal traditional way of doing things; have two natural wingers on both wings. I know Saka's got the right wing locked down deservedly... If not for pepe's inconsistencies I wouldve preferred he takes the other wing. I don't like the idea of using AM's or CM's as wingers.
Which means Smith go siddon and Auba will play Left and Laca 9. I said so cos that's the only way this stubborn plan of TopCrosser will flourish, and not cos i believe Auba and Laca will gel well.

Besides, i dunno if Martinelli will eventually start tomorrow.

You are definitely right. That AM to winger Conversion is not sweet to behold. I'd prefer that Arteta works on making the Wingers and Fullbacks gel better in attack and defending than this cross and nod style. The last time i saw it at Emirates was Kolasinac and Iwobi. At least for The chemistry.

Pepe gets to much stick to me. Too too much. He's yet to be unlocked and so I'd not really blame him when we have three others there that always play crap.
