The bottomline is that Rohr faced African oppositions and doesn't have the kind of set piece stats Oliseh recorded in his verrryyy short reign. Four set piece goals in Five games with the Main Super Eagles side for Oliseh trumps Rohr's poor set piece utilisation return. If I add the CHAN, we would be talking more than four goals from set-pieces.

Rohr needs to sit up and work on our being dangerous from set pieces. A team is set up to be purposeful at set pieces no matter the opposition. That is the truth. Rohr needs to do more on that and then others.
You get time o. sincerely.

We all know that Oliseh is the only coach since 94 that made setpieces a big deal. Why explain that to him?

Recently, his analysis has been underwhelming. Making the opposition look beneath is not even a valid point. Arrgh.

in this calendar year, which African striker scored more than 20goals at club level/this last season?

We Africans are yet to decode that Europeans love to dominate the middle. Yet they've rarely built a defence than can soak in pressure like the south Americans.

African teams need a hot and big reawakening!

With what I'm seeing now, I doubt Ghana would put a 2010 here atall.

There is one MAJOR DIFFERENCE.

I am unable to explain why but any Senegalese youngster showing little promise in thier local league will be in the French league 1, within weeks.

This is a trend across the entire Francophone countries but more so in Senegal.

This means thier youngsters probably don't even have to cut age because thier captured at the very local level before anybody knows them.

They then go to very good professional clubs and get very good quality training at top academies. Most French league I clubs academies are dominated by Africans.

Consider the French team it's essentially an African team. Evra and Viera former Captain's of the French team are from Senegal.

I am sure the overwhelming majority of the Senegalese players have all played in France. They have a huge pool of quality talent.

In contrast our colonial heritage is one of outright racism, exclusion, restrictions and discrimination. In actual fact it should be that Nigerian should be the overwhelming majority of African playing at all levels in English football. But it's the opposite there are more French African players in the EPL than ourselves.

I tire for England sometimes.

But it's changing there eye deh open small, see how the England team has much more African origin players than ever before.
You have a very valid point here. But I consider it footballing slavery @francophone transfers.

It's yielded good results however. The English are known to never be good at watching others come to take glory. so they overhyped their own. Drogba was the best francophone to ever make the epl look simple. They couldn't dispute that.

But Even Alli is still getting his own boos and racism attacks yet.

Sorry for the English peeps.

It will truly be a big boost for our league if English scouts come every time in a season to take the league's best to the epl. But it has one major disaster... our league would be in shambles and a cesspit of kwaruption than it currently is.

They are rich and consistent in still dominating the African continent. simple!!!

They should be doing much more by now with that cash. They dominate African, but their best are afraid of playing the epl or the LA Liga, why?

They prefer to stay in Zamalek or AlAhly.

Beat the odds and get back up. Do these guys feel like gods atall? cos I sense they do.

The first 15mins of any game should be used to test the strength of the opponents' defence so the middle can work with that. That's what Modric did, thus Shehu was busy all night and Idowu was comfy all night.

same old same old.

The big question is, what inspires these guys individually? what inspires them? Nigerians? I doubt. Money? fame? self interest?

U doubt the formation was the issue

End of discussion, It was just setpieces that killed us. that its!!!

Ighalo can't player line striker. The middle played well with the wings but the wings failed to deliver crosses that could cause trouble. we've suddenly forgotten how to use our wings to fly.

Well we are jamming the Vikings next. I hope they don't use us to do their "Bloody Eagle" torture for enemies.

Joel Obi and Onazi are needed without argument. If Rohr tries to pass them around till they tire, it may backfire.

Me just feel that FIFA restricts any club movements once a double season is over and few days to the world cup

It's going to be very painful if Nigeria reach far in this mundial and Etebo goes to relegated Stoke to continue his career.

I wish to raise the cash attraction. seems to be what motivates players from naija these days. But I don't like the move.

See the same for the Spanish coach also.

Newton's Third law of motion states that for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. That is what is happening here since that underwhelming performance by our team. Should we be looking and licking our lips Asif their performance didn't affect us?

The thing was that the setpieces issue I've clamored will soon ruin us is the same one that ruined us yesternight. Then we didn't even bite. We just went Knocking sotey some twitter fans are saying that Subasic need not bathe after the match cos he was rarely tested or made to dive atall.

Why can't we bite and maim?

Why?

Some things are basic and should be the decision of the players themselves. Must the coach tell them to practice setpieces before they know it's important?

We lack lots of things, basic things and I pray it's not a decider of our fate, however little it may seem to many. We may bounce back, but we need to be extraordinary come Friday. Arrrggghhh.

Pirlo didn't need no coach to tell him to practice freekick an extra hour after Juventus finished their normal training sessions. Same for Baba Giggs, Ronaldo.

Watched a friendly of Brazil and Alves told Neymar to leave the freekick for him to take, imagine. Luiz still stood over it with his right and eventually took it. Imagine a Balogun or Shehu standing over setpieces.... that's part of what we need. We are just tooooo natural. set 94 should be the yardstick every coach that comes must use as understudy. Why can't they?

A pity JJ wasn't understudied to know how to take freekick like him in the national team. Whereas foreign players are the ones saying they watched him and kick it like him.

@Thesupernerd, if Mikel did his best yesternight as Amf, then I can conclude that he is so so average!!!!

And that is to say, Gerrarahere.

The intensity of this world cup, Nigeria are yet to just update to it atall. it's too complex for us. These players don't even look like they've come to a tourney played once every 4years.

If Ghana was against Croats, I'm sure they would run upandan and cause trouble.

I saw the Peru game and those Peruvians were seen gasping Vs Denmark. They were ready to die. Asin die. The psychology of this mundial, our players don't show it. I'm not being judgemental. but till date, Ghana will continue to be a yardstick for us cos not only did they reach the qf, everyone saw that they were ready to defy allllll odds and die. Or is it only our politics thatvid do or die?
